I'd like to give lachesis an excellent review. He sent me a multi-region Sega Saturn and it arrived in great, working condition. Communication was fast and I got it two days after the transaction was completed. Would definitely work with again.

Which leads me to my next point, I'm looking to start a Sega Saturn library! If anyone has any offers on anything, please send them my way. All I have is the core system, one controller, and the game Fighting Vipers. It plays both US and Japanese games, so all offers are welcome (and I'll even take some advice on what I should get!). It appears to be a US system modified, if that clears anything up.

any interest in a 360 slim 4gb with a 120gb hdd? the hdd was taken from its MS shell to fit in the slim.

I was thinking $150 shipped. Comes with the console, controller, cables, psu, and is practically mint.

the amount and rate of reposts in this thread is really annoying. every page has become virtually identical. i know there is a loose "repost at your own discretion" rule, but i think it has gone too far.

I'm new to this thread but I noticed this as well. I even did it myself just to stay relevant.

it's a forum thread format for a marketplace, what better ideas do you have? people post in the thread, which bumps other people off the newest page, so they have to repost. it's annoying, but that's kind of how it has to work. unless there was a completely new thread where we can only post bst lists and can only edit our one post...but I think that would be much worse.

How is your post any better? You have nothing for sale and have nothing to buy. Useless. Don't like it? Use the "add to ignore list" feature, or just ignore the thread completely.

Looking to Buy:
-The World Ends With You [DS]
-Mass Effect Platinum Hits [360]
-Left 4 Dead GOTY [360]

I pay fast(paypal, Amazon GCs, etc) and have plenty of positives in the feedback thread. PM with offers, questions, etc. Thank you.

Or reposts of the same item could be limited to 3. That would cause people to use their posts judiciously instead of every 50 or 100 posts, and it would allow for more people to actually use the thread.

i don't think a mod could be expected to account for that.

I don't know, i don't think it's hard to just be like "there's smision, selling his used dildos and buttplugs again at exorbitant prices, i'll just not read that thanks."

This thread is already pretty unofficial, so it seems unlikely we'll get a regulated trade thread...not that I'm totally sure I'd want one.

For one, it's already regulated. For two, who said anything about mods? Most people here are fairly reasonable, and as it's been said that it's basically a snowballing effect in action where reposts are necessary because of other reposts, ad nauseum, it would be a total net gain for the thread, the buyers, the sellers with basically no downside. There is a line between trying to sell your stuff and spam. We're way on the other side of that line.

In the old thread I used to post like on every page and people told me it was overkill. Now I wait a few days/hundred posts before I post again which I think is fine for most people.

BTW, I still want to buy Okamiden, Yakuza 4 :D

I've bought a couple of items from this thread and I browse it daily for new stuff. I think that the rest of the community on this site (particularly people who come here irregularly, ie not "usuals" like me for example) is intelligent enough to go back 3-6 pages if they are looking for deals. I am sure that no one will sell less if they limited their same old listings to once every 3+ days. Also, most people here are not selling the exact same items anyways. Why the backlash?

It's a sales thread. People want to sell their stuff. Not just to you, but to anyone that might wander into the thread. Personally speaking, I post once per page and edit to make sure it's still accurate.

When I'm looking to buy things I don't go beyond the last page-- I doubt that most of the regular viewers of the thread would either.

Complaining about reposts seems to create more posts than all of the people posting lists combined.

Well for one, that's clearly bullshit. Secondly, if there are a lot of people asking for a fix, wouldn't that make the complaints valid? I still think having a reasonable amount of X reposts (honor system) is fair compromise for all. Again, just because it's a sales thread, it doesn't mean you're not spamming by reposting the same shit every 50 replies.

Also, just to keep it 100, Positive Feedback for Hex.

No. We have a 300+ page workbook will be going through, sight words, math, and reading DVDs with books, flashcards, planting flowers, watching caterpillars turn to butterflies, etc. etc.

Here's some other posts to expand:

Luigison said:
School may be out, but learning never stops, besides, I make learning fun for my daughter. Take science for example, this week we're planting flowers and next week we'll be watching caterpillar turn into butterflies. She loves me reading a Dr. Seuss, The Cat in a Hat Knows a lot about That, or other book to her every night. She's only five ans school is fun to her. If I were working I couldn't just leave her at home by herself.

She enjoys Nick Jr. and Reader Rabbit games, and watching education videos.

(BTW, I'm a teacher and just because "schools out in the summer" doesn't mean I stop teaching or learning either. Besides, I'm hoping to get a summer school teaching job so I can afford to send my daughter to science summer camp.)
Luigison said:
I'm enjoying homeschooling her though. Brain Quest has a great workbook we'll be using for overall curriculum. We'll be using Sight Words DVDs and books for practicing her reading. I already read her a book almost every night - usually Dr. Seuss or specifically The Cat in a Hat Knows a Lot about That series of education books. Math is a no-brainer for her. Before we left she told my step-father that 4+4=8 and 4+4+4=12. He asked how she knew that and she said, "I watch TV." Priceless. We visited a local Kindercare yesterday and she made the equation 4+3=7 on their magnet board while we were talking to the director. We already ordered caterpillars for a butterfly garden and bought seeds to plant. I could go on, but I'm sure you don't need to hear all about our daughter.

I'd love for it to be limited to 3 reposts for the same item in, say, a 2 week period. But whatevs, I've been complaining for years (as I always say), and it's usually me raging against the pics people post (like the guy who decided he needed to post 3 giant pictures of his Halo game).

Hey guys. I was actually back a couple of days ago, but I forgot to make the post stating that I had updated the NeoGAF User-Submitted Feedback List. So, um.... The NeoGAF User-Submitted Feedback List has been updated and is accurate as of this post!

Additionally, if you guys want to sit down and actually come up with some kind of posting code to help deal with all of the reposts and that kind of thing, I'm okay with it. The trouble with that kind of thing here is that moderators tend to stay out of this thread, so enforcing any kind of code would be difficult. Basically, if you want a moderator in this particular thread, you're going to have to lobby Evilore to make me a mod. And if you want a code or rule set in this thread, we're all going to have to come to some kind of consensus or popular vote on the rules, with people agreeing to abide by them as well. The name of the game here is going to be to attract potential buyers or community members to come into this thread and to buy stuff/sell stuff. So you guys let me know what it is that you want to do here.

just an FYI: the more 'official' this thread becomes the more libel GAF becomes of all buy/sell/trades, which I don't think is fair to GAF, and will most likely result in the b/s/t thread being locked, and b/s/t'ing being outlawed on GAF because this is ALL an aside to what GAF is even about. LOL It's a really, really slippery slope.

just because you want something a certain way does not mean it is your right, you know? This thread is always gonna have pics (big or small) and list re-posts... let's all GTF over ourselves, pls. The way that the thread is VERY loosely governed is fine, IMO.

No one is arguing about having a hard set of limits, rather an unwritten rule. Dealing with the reposts everyday gets quite tiring. It's not hard to go back 3 pages to see if anyone has anything you want.

Moving on, the real solution is in every user's hands. Just add the users to your ignore list. That way you don't have to 'put up with' posts you don't want to see, no one has to do extra leg-work to mod it, and we're all happy.

Since we are discussing potential improvements (and apparently taking up more space than all of the reposts combined), posting links to eBay seems like a waste if this thread is meant to allow members to buy and sell with friendly people at good prices. If this thread is just meant to be any standard market where each sale is maximized then post eBay and Amazon links all you want, but if that's the case I think most of us would just use those sites instead of bothering to look here.

Also, like many others, I still WTB the Eathbound box and guide.

b/s/t thread on GAF should thought of as the Old West, for the most part. LOL

what everyone needs to realize, in the wider scheme of GAF: the bigger detriment buy/sell/trading becomes to GAF over all = closing time. Peeps need to be very, very careful what they think they're fighting for... we all know why nice things get taken away. When you were younger and fighting with a friend/sibling over a certain toy, what did the adult do? TAKE IT AWAY. That is a fact of this thread I don't think many seem to scope. Buy/sell/trade thread should not be taken as granted.

Yes, well, that argument works both ways. Just because you're happy with spam, doesn't mean everybody is. Nobody is proposing anything ridiculous, so the slippery slope of creating consumer/seller friendly guidelines holds no weight. We've already made changes from the way things used to be done, with the addition of tiered feedback ratings and such, and it's only enhanced the end experience. I sincerely fail to see how making small tweaks that do not affect anybody (except diehard human spambots) negatively, and only increase usability is anything but a good thing.

MidnightScott and Crisis (someone else as well... I forget who.) took the initiative to do that, the capacity of which is all unofficial.

the thing about what you are proposing, WanderingWind, is that an opposing side (the 'diehard human spambots' as you put it) exists, which will likely lead to arguments, and that won't go unnoticed by mods (I don't see how it can with such terms as diehard human spambots being tossed around...) FORCED guidelines = rules, which some are not keen on. It's nice to have general guidelines (in that it's the stuff one should consider whenever buy/trade/selling) and an honor system, but the thing about an honor system is that it's up to each individual's discretion to honor said system, and it really cannot be enforced. LOL

i'm not for or against anything except peeps governing the rights of others (disclaimer: GAF admins can do what they want, on the other hand. Because this is their forum) where it's not their place. IMO, peeps need to worry about more important things in the world/life than how someone else should be posting their wares in the NeoGAF b/s/t thread... *shrug*

Have to agree with you there. Reposts don't bother me. I keep my page size at 50 (to make it easier on my mobile GAF) and pretty much expect to see certain users posting on each page. Doesn't really bother me in the least. In fact, sometimes its nice to see an update on someone's list without having to skim the last few pages for it.

We need to move on from this and get back to B/S/T-ing. If anything, all of these arguments have annoyed me much more than reposts, as I like to check this thread often when I see new posts.

Edit: Since I'm first on a new page (for me at least), I still WTB a non-greatest hits copy of Uncharted. Hit me up.

I have a BIOSHOCK 2 SPECIAL EDITION for PS3 that's new and sealed. It's heavy though, so it would have to be $40 shipped. It comes with all kinds of goodness, but the outer slip cover is torn. The rest (including the plastic) is flawless and unopened, though. :-]

I have a never-used 60GB XBOX 360 HDD - $35 shipped.

Just add people to your ignore list as you see fit. You'll never see their (my?) posts again! It's crazy how it works.

I see what you're saying, but every thread has rules onto itself. But, whatever. I'd say put it to a vote, but that's just me.

No limit on reposts
Small limit on reposts
Strict limits on reposts.
But how would you enforce this? Make a "spambot" feedback list? When GAF is set at 100 posts it's almost 3 days worth of posts on each page, so the 3 day limit proposed earlier would hardly do anything anyway. It is what it is and lets move on.

My apologies for adding to the madness.
