For a semi-rare game like that, there are only ever a couple dozen copies on Amazon to begin with. Every once in a while you will have a couple of people at the top with unrealistic prices, and when Christmas hits and the few reasonably-priced copies sell out it creates a temporary situation where the only items left currently listed on Amazon are at some ridiculous price. eBay sellers see this so they adjust their prices to match. New items (from "the wild") are listed pretty much at a fixed average rate based on the rarity of the title, and that rate is sure to be much much much higher than the rate at which these items will sell for $200+ apiece, now that Christmas is over. As the year goes on the price will drop back to somewhere near its pre-Christmas level, and probably will not break $50ish again. That won't stop some people from holding off on selling until the price "goes back up", unwilling to simply take what profit they can, while they can. They will forever wait for this unusual situation to repeat itself because they don't understand the dynamics of online video game pricing. Most of those people will end up selling their items around $50 when they finally accept that they had better take what they can get because the situation is not getting better. I call attention to the fact that there is not actually any kind of shortage of this title on eBay or Amazon. There are several copies available, and obviously not all of these people can afford to wait forever to sell, hoping to get that elusive $200, while more realistic sellers are coming along and filling the market with a large number of more reasonably priced copies. The market is dictated by supply and demand, and given the low demand, medium supply, and inflated price, it seems clear that the price on this item is about to go down hard. If you still have a copy, now is probably the time to sell.[
