Yeah, many people buy their cards with the incentive they can sell the add-on game to reduce costs. It's not much when you're already dropping $300 or more on a card but you would be surprised how saving just $20-$30 can sway someone to buy an expensive card they normally would not.

Either way it sucks. I've partaken in a few cheap coded myself, and I've also sold a few to help bring down the cost of a new GPU.

If it works like the beta code through GeForce Experience, they link it from that to your UPlay account so it's likely that someone who owns the card with the key could link it to someone else's UPlay.
