Call him Sir Christopher Nolan after he receives he's knighthood

The greatest film maker of the last twenty years. Nobody has had more influence over popular culture.

And The Dark Knight remains his best movie, for many reasons.

How has Christopher Nolan actually changed pop culture? Did he launch new popular movie franchises? Has he made unknown actors worldwide celebrities? Has he influenced young directors to make their own Nolanesque movies? Are his films filled with quotable lines and scenes that are burned into the public's consciousness? The only Nolan movie that got close to achieving those goals was The Dark Knight, but everything since didn't live up to that promise.

You could make the case that Nolan has made superhero movies respectable but the Spider-Man and X-Men movies already made superhero movies popular with a mass audience.

This list is so damn good that I'm not sure if I'd rather prefer the first or third row because they are all so damn good. Next thing I noticed was that just one of those eight movies released during the last 10 years.
The four in the middle were also (at the very least) well made movies with the exception of Memento which is a masterpiece.

Dunkirk is my favourite Nolan film, then it’s Memento. Second row triumphs the rest for me.
