I would figure that much, PC has dedicated servers right? and do you actually get the option of seeing a numerical value for your ping instead of bars?
tastes differ! it's the only game I threw in the garbage bin.
Granted I'm just an average CoD palyer but I'm really coming around on this game. Things clicked last week, and I dont even whine (that much 
) about the lag anymore. Sure, some kills are bullshit, but even with the lag compensation working against you, it's still possible to have a good game. I'm not even sure if the netcode is really worse than MW3. When I first started playing the game, I tried to play it like MW3 and as a consequence thought that SMGs were overpowered, run&gun was the way to go and complained a lot over the lag compensation.
Ever since I switched over to the FAL (without select fire), things started to slow down, I took a calmer, more laid back approach and it really paid off. It actually makes fun to play the game now, and whenever i feel like the lag is working against me, I simply try to maximize the distance between me and the lagging enemy players, which pretty much negates the lag advantage/disadvantage. Finding the right perks that suit your playstyle helps a lot, too.

Welp im done with this till they fix the spawns.
spawns started out great but have slowly gotten worse and worse the last few days.
beyond MW3 bad at this point.
3 games now where my entire team spawns on mines non stop the entire match.

Indeed they do! the beauty of variety, even in a series. If only the pre-blackops games weren't hacked.

It does, but it doesn't feel like it for me since the matchmaking got patched, I end up in games worse than peer 2 peer :/

The fact that there is no server browser kind of make it pointless. Seems like a downgrade from other multiplayer games on pc... If you can't choose the server that plays that one map you like, that game mode and a a small community around that server, dedicated seems just the same as matchmaking with the boring waiting and random maps...

Is it much better than the SWAT? I've been using that as my burst fire gun. I like burst fire to test my aim, but I'm not loving the SWAT.

Success! Had probably the best day of my CoD career today.
- Past 55 for the first time and prestiged. I've never done all prestiges in a COD before but I like blops 2 so much I think I'm gonna go all the way. Permanently unlocked Ghost.
- Got the camo for shooting down a dragonfire with the SMAW. Three double kills away from getting Gold. It'll happen eventually, it's all statistics at this point.
- Got the camo for shooting down an aircraft with the RPG. Got sooo lucky with a stealth chopper on Yemen. Two double kills and one triple away from getting Gold. The triple is really scaring me, thinking I might switch from Ground War to Hardpoint for that one.
- Finished the 100 headshot bs for the MSMC and got the cherry blossom as well. Art of War is harder to get, perks are more important in this game than attachments. It's a fun challenge though.
- Barely had my first 40+ kill game. Not too easy on PC, haven't seen it often. Got over 6000 points too. Black Hat + Engineer does wonders.
I guess I will go after Diamond Launchers afterall
although I can see myself not encountering an AGR for the Stinger to destroy in 10 prestiges I really probably need to boost for that one.EDIT: Also, Free-For-All on PC is no joke. Twitch shooter in every sense of the word. Leveling up your weapons in Ground War is far easier.

Killed mid-sentence by an MSMC user.
It is IMO. I used my first permanent unlock on it, and have prestiged the gun twice. I use quickdraw and fast mag with it, it's a great gun. People using the SWAT are most often running select fire so they can use full auto.

The game sucks at explaining things. I was doing things in the SP and had no idea why or how they even came about. The story telling is piss poor, it's all over the place. I didn't give a shit about anybody in the story. Pretty short too. And it had cinematic's that you couldn't skip after checkpoints which I fucking hate. I watch this thing, I die, I watch it again. Shitty design that too many games do.

I don't think I could have paid anymore attention. I'm not a fan with how Treyarch tell stories. I like the premise they had with Blops and with this game but they way things were presented and how they played out left a lot to be desired imo.

When a friend of mine prestiged the first time it reset him down to level 1, no prestige and never resolved itself. Beyond that I can't say I've seen the above happen.

The AGR dropped and I couldn't find it for a minute or two. And then I found it twice and it killed me twice. Less than 60 seconds left on the clock. But the planets aligned and I shot a Stinger missile at that fucker. That Metal Gear Solid VR training finally paid off.
As for the SMAW, well...I hate the SMAW. I fucking hate it. I am never going to touch that weapon again ever. In fact I refuse to play Gun Game because the SMAW is one of the weapon cycles. Fuck that POS.

Last night, I got extremely lucky with the AGR kill. Not only did I kill one but TWO in the same match. I had the biggest smile aftewards, lol. Now I just need 2 more player control aircraft kills and diamond will be mine.
May move onto the pistols next.

Damn, kill confirmed on ground war is such a good mode with a full party. Having competent players at your side makes a huge difference. Managed to get all my streaks more than once in a single game. Feels good man.
I also forgot about this skill based matchmaking thing they announced. This probably part of my frustration going mostly solo with this game. Been checking combat records and everyone's K/D is similar to mine. Here I thought it was just the lag comp, and me sucking ass. Seriously what's the point of something like that? Nobody plays COD to be challenged. Ever since MW2, COD as been about mindless fun IMHO. Isn't that what league play is for anyway?
Finally got gold camo on the Type25. Man, was it a pain. It has a really good fire rate, but takes like four bullets to kill up close. Plus with that high RoF it empties the clip too fast. You can only take out two guys at the most before a reload. Starting on the TAR and it already feels better.

Yeah, but I prestiged and have to wait 'till level 40 to get the RPG. Have no idea where the Triple kill will come from. Oh boy...
I really want to do Diamond Pistols but I almost have Gold for the MSMC and am halfway through the headshots for the PDW. May as well get Diamond SMGs first.
One thing I would recommend is have your Stinger as a reserve class and just have fun with the game otherwise. When a Lodestar or Dragonfire pops up you can kill yourself and switch to the Stinger loadout.

Someone said it best on the Player One podcast that the campaign in Black Ops II almost feels like a parody of CoD games. Sure it's got great production values and it's fun, but I can't tell which game is more disturbing. Spec Ops is the first game in a long time that has actually made me cringe in near disgust over just how fucked up the story is and the war is hell kind of theme.
Blops is disturbing because it's like Michael Bay times 10. It's almost like it's military porn. I can't shake this feeling that I'm playing a military-themed Natural Born Killers at times it's so absurd sometimes. I half imagine Oliver North getting an erection while playing it, especially during the look out it's terrorists line in the club level. It's just so ridiculous at times. The word fuck even seems like it's thrown into every other sentence even if it doesn't make sense.

Never played Spec Ops, but BLOPS is a personal revenge story, not really military porn. The game is pretty fair handed in that it portrays the CIA's actions during the Cold War as incompetent with lasting detrimental consequences, especially once you find out what motivated the main antagonist.
If you want military porn, I would like to point you to Medal of Honor Warfighter. The quintessential good guy freedom vs turrists stealin' our freedoms storyline.
Doesn't this only happen when the host migrates? If so, I feel the rage quitting is absolutely justified. Games are meant to be fun. When you're the host in this game, many times it simply isn't fun. Why would a person want to keep playing when an on target, point blank shotgun blast is totally ineffectual, and gives the other player time to turn around and shoot you. The problem is with the game, not the people. I've said it before, fuck everybody else's experience until treyarch fix the problem.

I'm more annoyed that when people quit out matchmaking is slow to replace them, I've seen alot of matches end with one team 3 or 4 guys short of a full team.

This has been going on for a while in COD though, I believe most people just ragequit because they are getting destroyed.
1) Get destroyed
2) ragequit
3) find out you were host
4) justly blame treyarch
5) play a better game
Since Blops1 right? I'd expect it to continue then. If I'm host I quit and rejoin the game, usually I go from having a subpar experience to winning, even if I was made host half way through the match. The difference is sometimes like night and day. Maybe they should get dedicated servers, or come up with some better netcode.
Pretty much this. Except I always know when I'm host because I pull up the player list and look at the connections every time a match starts or the host leaves.
