Pretty much. Had to go back to MW3 and I literally feel like I'm in the Matrix!

I wish there was a switch they could flip to make it feel like that again because I really like the game apart from the lag.

I actually found gold on the shotgun to be easy compared to the assault riffles/lmg's...you only need 50 kills no perks/attachments compared to 150. I just made a class no perks or attachments at the same time, and ripped that one out as soon as slums came up..took only 2 games.

This is their idea of "competitive gaming," which is funny because nobody played that Competition Playlist they added in the first Black Ops.
 
Does anyone else have problems with their connection being super inconsistent in this? I'll go from 4 bars to one bar and fluctuate the entire match, I don't know if it is the game or my router/connection.
 
What is everyone's favourite setup? This has probably been discussed to death in this thread, but I didn't have the game when it came out.

I just find it hard to ditch the perks that are available from the start by default, such as the Flinch less when shot one. I just got so used to it, whenever I take it off I feel really handicapped.

I also completely ditch any kind of secondary weapon to be able to get an extra perk.

Are there any things that people find, more or less, crucial to equip in this game?
 
M8 Select Fire and QuickDraw.

Amazing.

Edit: I have diamond SMG's, AR's, Sniper's, Riot Shield, Crossbow, Combat knife, Ballistic knife, and shotguns.

Starting LMG's today. This should be fun.
 
My RC-XD and Escort Drone kills arent being tracked by that game :(

Im trying to get all the steak player cards, so this is a really bummer

I play mostly Kill Confirmed..setups are going to be different for something like Domination..

If it is a small map (or I am playing with friends who like to snipe) I run shotgun(long barrel and light) with lightweight, cold blooded (since everyone uses target finder) and two perk 3..Dexterity and engineer (not only keeps you from running into trouble, but helps you find campers so you can run into them and mess them up with shotgun) I have bouncing betty just because I can toss it out in high traffic areas and get kills and emp to take advantage of engineer. With this set up I get 4000-5000 points each match.

If it is a medium map, or I am not playing with friends, or the other team is all camping together, I role with a Scar-H(fmj and target finder/hybrid scope). Ghost and hardline on perk 1..Cold Blooded on perk 2 and engineer on 3. Bouncy to watch my back and emp again to use with engineer. This setup is great for mid range...will win some close fights...and destroys snipers hiding behind cover. My score per minute is a lot lower because I don't get as many confirms, but my K/D is much higher.

On Cargo I have a similar setup as I do with the above scar but I replace it with FAL...

My score streaks are UAV/care package/AGR...I actually get more kills with the AGR than I did with warthog...
 
I made the biggest mistake in my life, I asked a question in the game. Promptly I was responded to with insults and I was being the biggest idiot in the entire world - I did shut them up by completely destroying them but never got an answer for me question.

What's the default bindings on PC for cycling scorestreaks? In HC I never really played around with it as you have no indicator of the scorestreak, so pushing buttons wouldn't do much.
 
I love blocking off half the map with guardian / sentry combo. I managed to put 2 turrets guarded by 2 guardians on pretty nasty spots so no one could touch them. As third killstreak I had care package, I got the dragonfly (or whatever it's called) and K9 unit and some other cool ones. They simply couldn't do a thing, I went 66 - 11 and 53 - 9 with kill confirmed (kills/deaths). It's really a lot of fun, but probably less for the opponent team.

I posted my setup earlier, changed it a little bit, but anyways:
MSMC, quickdraw, FMJ
Lightweight, Hardline (perk 1 with greed perk 1)
Dexterity, Engineer (perk 3 with greed perk 3)
(1x) bouncing betty
care package, guardian, sentry

Playing smart (flanking) is obviously the most important part, I just run around quick, lightweight and dexterity are really important for it. Engineer is very useful if you sprint around a lot, you won't only avoid traps but you can also "know" enemies are there (at least, most of the time). Hardline helps A LOT, there are so many times I am 1 kill short and die. I use one bouncing betty but most of the time I don't even use it. I don't know how you play but if you run&gun quickdraw, lightweight and dexterity are VERY important. It's also important to pick killstreaks you can achieve, turret is very useful in my opinion. I also use it to guard myself when I drop a care package because the maps are so small. With this tactic I get pretty good results most of the time.

e: very important: I only play hardcore, I am pretty sure this setup is less good in normal.
 
Ok, so I've been playing the mp for a few hours now, couple of questions.

1. One of the boot camp challenges is to get kills using enemy equipment. Guess that means by blowing up their explosives...is there any other way?
2. No country callsigns? Where is my Swiss cross? (callsigns in general seem to be difficult to unlock).
3. Will all challenges get reset on prestige or do some stay from one to the next?
4. Do gun levels/prestiges reset when you 'character' prestige?

I just realized my copy of Blops2 has a Nuketown code in it. Never looked through the ads/manuals before now.

I have complained in this thread about wanting to play that map. I am an idiot.

Probably used the millimeter scanner attachment or whatever the fuck that attachment is called that lets you see through walls.

Was just playing MW3 for a bit. Friendly Predator Missile came down, couldn't see anything at all right after it. Was killed through it, and the guy who got me wasn't spraying, rather directly aiming at me. BO2 has similar effects so I figured I'd ask.

It's an annoying feature that was added in MW3 and carried over to Blops 2. Any explosions, either from killstreaks or even nades, will throw up a ton of debris to disorient you. They also added silly floating particles and garbage in both, which is equally annoying.

You can tweak you contrast and brightness to make player models (colors) pop out more for easy kills. It's cheap and annoying but only a handful of people even bother to do it. Another likely culprit is the horrible auto-aim in the game that auto-locks on to enemies, especially if you were moving while they were ADS.

1. Yes, hack their equipment with the Black Hat. A lot of players don't notice the announcer telling them their equipment is hacked.
2. No country callsigns. You could probably make a Swiss Cross in the emblem creator.
3 & 4. Challenges and Gun Levels do not reset when you Prestige. The only way to reset a gun is to Prestige that gun when it reaches the max level.

Multiplayer is another story entirely. Feels like a choir to play and the spawning/lag inconsistency is insane.

No. It's even worse because green arrows are the same color as your party so you can't tell who is who on the radar; everything is a shade of teal/blue.

It's only a problem if you plan on using every single unlockable in the game, which is not the case for the 90% of the CoD community that avoids LMGs and Shotguns.
 
got to use an emp on a swarm...it was very satisfying. It was a care-package swarm, so I am sure the person that got it was so happy...and thinking hell yeah...then BOOM emp...lol.

my emp was also a care package.
 
So it seems like every scorestreak has a counter except attack dogs? (in a way death machine I guess)

Hunter Killer-blind eye/emp

Care Package--not a kill, but emp will cause it to drop early as well as black-hat/rpg

Counter-UAV-hardwired

Guardian-emp/also engineer lets you see them so you can avoid and take them out

Hellstorm Missile -emp/cold blooded makes you not show up at least

Lightning Strike- same as hellstorm though requires better timing.

Sentry Gun-same as guardian

death machine-just a weapon so really no counter

war machine-flak

Dragonfire-one bullet lol...cold blooded and emp

AGR-EMP/cold blooded

Stealh/escort drone-blind eye and emp

Got a Swarm from a care package, got killed before i picked it up. then I travelled like half of Raid to get to flag c and kill that fuck who almost stole my swarm. lol

You can kill dogs and some maps have areas that doogs cannot get to
