Slums is definitely my favorite map. I will ALWAYS vote for it, only cause I feel like I can never lose on that map. Lol. I was hoping that would pop up more often.
Warning: Long Post Incoming
My faves are standoff, slums, and hijacked.
The rest are nothing special maps to me.
I despise carrier and express.
In MW3, I liked every map. I wasn't too fond of Downturn, but it only showed up like once a month, so I wouldn't mind playing it. This game is so much different with the maps, that I'm not really a fan of them.
*Extra note: If playing DEMO on hijacked, using low killstreaks gets you more kills than the high ones. If you use your lightning strike first and put all 3 on their spawn, chances are you'll kill a few and if your teammates kill people to, then 95% of the time you should call in the hellstorm right after and just zoom it down on their spawn even though they won't appear til you almost land and it gets you 4-5kills every time unless they have less than 6 heads on their team. It makes hijacked alotta fun
Well Blops 2 demolition is all about map control. If your team has even just 65% of the map and the other team has 35%, then that means when you spawn, you know you can freely sprint up a bit to their side of the map without anybody killing you on your side.
Slums seems to be on the more lopsided maps because of the whole fountain area in the middle, which makes it a ton of fun if you're on the good team. If your team owns that, theres only 3 ways to get past there and they can be seen from so many angles and because it's demo, you know the one and only side of the map they'll be on, so alotta spots are predictable and once you kill them enough trying to get into the middle of the map, you can push up even further into the car repair shop or to the washing machines if you're going up the other side etc...
Almost every map in this game basically is:
3 ways to the other side and possibly a path in the middle connecting them, with long lines of sight on all 3 ways. They're all like Rundown from MW2, which i didn't like for that reason. Raid, Slums, Aftermath, Cargo, Hijacked, Overflow, Express, Yemen, Plaza, Meltdown, Drone, Turbine, and Standoff. So in the end I've named every single map.
And about the Ethernet cable, wired connection is always better. Back in the MW2 and Black Ops days, I would pull host and have it for hours til i finished my playsession. In MW3, i upgraded my internet even more and i pulled host EVERY game. If i joined session, the first host migration or first time the host leaves during intermission, I got host. In Black Ops 2, i get it fairly often but it seems to switch between people a lot. And in Black Ops 2 and MW3, having host isn't what it used to be with an advantage. Wired connection, Open Network Address Translation, and a good upload/download speed are essential for gaming
TL;DR: Maps only have 3 ways to the other side. In demo, where teams only spawn on their side, it makes map control huge and once a team pushes up a lot, it's very easy to kill people right after they spawn.
