I think it's quite ridiculous that ghost is unlocked at 55. I understand they want to stop camping and that's cool, but isn't making ghost useable while moving solving that without making it the last thing you unlock? All I want to do is effectively move on outskirts of the map without being lit up every second.
Also is there any use for lmg's? I keep trying to use them, but recoil sucks for long range and smgs are mauling me at medium range. I've just regressed to running around with my 870 and smaw trying to fight back against the smg herds.

For those who beat the campaign - I have a quick question:
..aaaaaand - has anyone gotten their code from Gamestop to work with the MP Player Card? I activated the code on COD's website - got sent ANOTHER code to input into website and it keeps telling me it's invalid.
Any ideas?
So I'm on the mission rolling through LA and I have to escort the President. I make it to the vehicle section and get in the vehicles and start driving the escort. I roll through a bunch of baddies, bodies flying everywhere, dodging and weaving through explosions, hang a right after the expressway collapses and come around a few cop cars and start heading into downtown. As soon as I pass the cop cars - I fail the mission "failed to protect the president".

I've driven that shit like 30 times already. I thought I was missing a few trucks and they gave chase so I made sure to ice everything in my way but no go. I don't get shot at, no explosions. Just a voice on the com telling me downtown is fucked. Every time I round the corner by the cop cars I fail the mission. There's nowhere else to drive. Nothing is attacking me. The Pres is in the vehicle behind me. I've restarted the mission a zillion times and the same shit keeps happening.
Any ideas?

I just played it in first person the entire time. The AI is pretty bad. I can take out an entire team by myself but if I let my AI handle it I'm screwed.

I thought i was prepared for how bad the strike force missions would be...but i wasn't.
15-20fps on consoles, sound cuts out all the time, deferred AA turns controls to utter shit, you have to "jump/vault/leap" over something that's 2" off the ground... no thanks.
Been there, done that, lvl 100 - fuck that shit.

No. Most small objects in 99% of games can simply be walked over. BF forces you to vault. It's funny to see my guy throw his legs up in the air and vault over a brick.
The review events were all done on 360s from what I heard.

Ehhh why not just use the in game engine for cutscenes? I hate it so much when it's a prerecorded video, because I can see all the dithering and all around jankiness. Really takes me out of the game and is not impressive in any way shape or form. When the game goes back to in-game graphics it looks soooooo good! Blech. So many games do this.

They are pretty tiny. Granted not all of them are bad as a result of being small, I find a few of them to actually be really fun. But overall they are on the smaller side of things, there certainly aren't any maps that I would define as "large" like Downfall from WaW or Overgrown from CoD4. The overall theme of BLOPS2's maps are tight corridors, lots of nooks and crannies, and lots of flanking routes. I personally prefer larger maps, so that's disappointing. But as I said, some of them are pretty fun despite their size.
I still hate Nuketown though. I understand why the COD community loves it so much, but I don't have a fucking clue why they love it so much. Thank god it's in it's own separate playlist.

Anyone else having freezes on PS3? The game has locked up on my 5 times during 3 hours of play, forcing a disk check after each reboot.
The maps definitely feel a bit smaller than normal. They do flow better than MW3 though.
My beef with the maps is the amount of headglitching spots all over the maps.

I'm just skipping them. I hate RTS stuff and it's hard enough playing my campaign on veteran. The best I got is 30 seconds left in the first one. The AI is awful and I get overrun no matter what I do with the forces. I can probably just kill everything myself on a lower difficulty.

I'm glad that you're enjoying them despite their size. As someone that doesn't care for Nuketown, I feel we're probably on the same page.
I'm just worried about getting burned again. MW3 was a waste of my money, after I sunk days and days into Blops 1.
That and the fact that trying to join a game and keep your party together can be a massive pain in the ass. Very rarely did we get into a game cleanly. On the other hand, the CoD games handle 6-person parties very well, let alone only 4 like in BF3.
Of course, I have yet to see how this one fares, but I would have to think that it's comparable to past experience.
The controls on PS3 were so bad for so long too and they didn't even give a fuck about fixing it.
My comment wasn't a dig at BF3 anyway. I played the shit out of that game for as long as I could but after I picked up other games w/ no input lag it was impossible to go back. I was more referring to games like the new MoH that just came out and has almost no community.

Really liking multiplayer so far and not digging campaign really. Weird, since I thought it'd be the other way around. Campaign just feels... cheap, I dunno. That fucking CG video of the terrible looking dropships flying over the endless flat ocean sure is getting old, and the AI just isn't up to much. Hoping there's more FUTURE SHIT soon.
That said, some of the moments have been cool, and the soundtrack is neat. Got a total Stamina Rose vibe from the second mission's bgm.

I agree about the maps being small. I don't even want to use the ARs in the game now.
Also wanted to mention this was the PC version I was talking about. I don't recall experiencing the situation I described back in BO1. In fact, I'm really getting the feeling that Treyarch's own servers don't stand up to the dedicated servers hosted by third-parties in BO1.

Try the 870 shotgun. It's great fun on Nuketown. That's where I'm getting all my camo skins for it.

I've just encountered a mission breaking glitch. I'm at the part where you have to
follow salazar with a humvee in order to escape Anthem. It looks like I'm at the end of the ride, with the marker and stuff, but nothing happens. Salazar casually get out of the truck, then nothing happens. I'm stuck in the truck and cannot get out. Just before the marker appear, you have to jump out of a small gap and a helicopter drone seems to get stuck at that gap. It happens every time I kill myself to get back to the latest checkpoint. Seems like I'll have to replay the whole mission.
