Go back a few seconds "this is something we never could've done on previous generations". They never made this game for PC. This wouldn't be possible on last gen, PS4 has a shit HDD.

4k40 fidelity rt mode is unlocked and feels like maybe 50. Custom lfc within vrr so my tv doesn’t show fps. But it looks and feels awesome. I really need to replay this.

So there is little to no reason they picked performance rt mode for this comparison.

Because it wouldn't been possible on the PS4. And yet today we saw that these low specced machines with HDD won't run the game at all like it runs on the PS5.

Is this part of the video still so hard to understand for some people after 3 years? This game isn't even possible without the help of the PS5 subsystem, RTXIO or Direct Storage on PC. Some modders might be able to disable Direct Storage on PC. I bet would completely freeze on PC with HDD and even with SSD's.

As always and i love seeing all the meltdowns after all these years. First Xbox 12TF power (PS5 is completely outperforming that brick), SSD downplaying (but hey we are cheering for Direct Storage and RTXIO).

5K pc's are getting destroyed by the PS5 in this game...."but but my 4090 and 64GB ram". We had the Ray Tracing nonsense back then. Yet the PS5 is the only console that has first party RT in many games.

Thats a bs excuse. They were doing visual fidelity tests most of the time anyway. If they really wanted to, they couldve switched to the 60 fps mode for framerate analysis. Using Performance RT mode for the entire 1 hour long video dissecting graphics is nuts.

If hes planning on doing this again because boohoo he cant do 4k 40 fps captures then just record it from the tv. Most tvs show the framerate nowadays.

That big sequence early in the game where Ratchet is flying through portal after portal to different worlds, i had 2 pauses that lasted about 1-2 seconds on 2 of the portals. Some of the portals in that sequence worked perfectly though. The actual portals in gameplay where you LB it and zoom forward, they all worked perfectly. Basic Sata SSD here.

They say that but then go on to compare crowd and traffic density and say pc is higher… but it’s higher on ps5 also in fidelity mode lol.

SSD downplaying? If Microsoft could replicate the PS5's specialized hardware architecture with a single DirectX API then it isn't ALL that. They were able to replicate in code what took Mark Cerny a specialized hardware design to do.

470 I think is 4GB too, and from what I can tell is better than a 960. The 960 is odd.

Well going from memory the 480 is pretty similar to the 1060, so yeah the 470 would be more powerful than the 960, although not by a large amount.

This GPU is like 3.5-4x more powerful than the PS5. Probably 5x in ray traced games. It is clearly underperforming here because in Spiderman Miles it was doing 130 fps. I wonder if this is due to the GPU decompression pegging back the GPU. The CPU utilization looks way lower compared to Spiderman and TLOU Part 1 which were doing decompression on the CPU.

Can this be turned off? I want to see just how much of an impact RTX IO can have on a GPU's performance.

I will run this section on my PS5 and see if i can capture the framerate. Unfortunatley, the LG CX doubles the framerate if it goes below 48 fps so i will have to find a section that gets up to 50 fps.

4080 should make more sense than a 4090, but sadly, it doesn't. You should be at the point of extreme diminishing returns at the top end but you're not. I was one of those "just add another $400 for the 4090" types. 33% more money for 25-40% better performance and 50% more VRAM was a no-brainer for me.

The 4090 seems to be a lot more popular than the 4080 which is why you're seeing much more.

Expecting Alex Baglaglia to use the same performance RT mode on PS5 vs uber high settings DLSS Quality 4K on an RTX 4090 in his scripted video about the PC port.

Just use the default 30fps fidelity mode if you don't have the necessary hardware for capturing a 120hz video feed. At least that's if you want to compare apples to apples on IQ.

It's 480p native though (FSR2.1 ultra performance), on a handheld, it might look decent enough.
Edit: fps isn't terrible but not great, it's like a FromSoft game. Loading isn't great, but not dog shit.

Yeah, I wasn't proud but I didn't have much of a choice. Needed for work too and the 7900 XTX just didn't cut it. CUDA is mandatory in a pro environment.

pretty slow. you'd be better off leaving it to the internal SSD. game isn't all that big anyways, you can easily make space even on the smallest model.
