When I purchased my Galaxy S4 from Futureshop last year, they did open the box and the phone, but it was just to confirm whether the phone and battery were fully functioning, as well as insert the SIM card. Other than that, they did not mess with the settings.

Fuck Rogers,

I called them, got the biggest dick on the phone. He would not give me an exact price of how much my disconnection would cost, he said ~$700. I said I wanted to know the exact price (so I could pay it), he said the only way I would get the exact price is if I committed to the cancellation. Then he would put me through to their cancellation department who would have an exact price for me.I wanted to think about cancelling before going through with, like fuck me right?

Fuck Rogers, I got a reference number to the conversation so that they could hunt the employee down, because I felt he wasnt telling me the entire story.

I can attest to that. There's not much better than a Wii U at holiday family gatherings! It's served me well these last few Decembers.

They're spouting a lot of corporate PR BS lately about improving their customer service and every time they do I just recall every bad situation I've ever had with them and find it hard to believe. So hey, what do you know, nothing's changed.

On the upside if someone there really does want to improve things, complaining will get you somewhere.

I made the mistake of going to target on Black Friday hoping they would have some good "and more" games that weren't listed in the flyer. It was a utter waste of time

Your best bet will probablly be Amazon.ca lowering it to $49.99 again like they did on the black friday weekend

You can contact them through their chat. It is much easier and less hassle.

It's just so frustrating because apparently if you want to get these kind of things fixed in a timely fashion you'd need the media to make a news out of this.

Their cancellation department is sometimes code for their retentions department. This is the department where you can get like... Half price plans or better (see rfd or howardforums for details on current deal plans). The guy was likely providing you with a large number so that the customer relations folks can appease you with much better numbers. It's a shit tactic, but it is a tactic.

EDIT 2: Looks like you meant the website itself. Luigi still available but Pit gone. I did notice the date has switched on them to 12/23 instead of 12/31 though so it may still be worth a trip to the store.

God I'm going to regret this, the mall is going to be nuts

Yup. I have three things I have written down to buy and I'm probably gonna bail on two of them. Zelda for $25 is about the only solid solid deal. Hell I'm getting WAY better deals between eBay and the BST thread here. Sucks man, I miss the Boxing Days of yore where I would come home with a dozen bags full of loot.
