Amazon threatened to close my account, saying I returned too much.

It's not my fault they damage my stuff or send me damaged stuff. Anyone ever respond to that?

If I didn't have a lot of games I still want on preorder I would just let them close it.

How did they inform you of this? Is it more of a warning?

By email. I'm just going to explain and see what they say.

Hello,

We're writing to apologize for the number of issues you've experienced with your shipments. Your correspondences with us indicate you've required refunds on a majority of orders for a number of reasons.

Through the normal course of business, the occasional problem is inevitable. However, you seem to have had an unusually high rate of problems in your account history.

When unusual account activity such as this comes to our attention, we'll evaluate each account on a case-by-case basis to determine if additional action is necessary, including closing the account. We’d prefer to work with you to avoid that inconvenience, as we do value your business.

If you have any questions in the future regarding your account, please write to us directly at cis@amazon.ca

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,

Account Specialist.

That means you've returned far more than the normal amount. Believe me amazon warehouse storage is horrendous these days. I havent been able to get a single Blu-ray without the case being scratched or broken.

I would tread carefully. Your account is being flagged and watched now. So if you are getting a lot of damaged stuff, you should probably stop ordering off Amazon. When they close yor account it is pretty much scorched earth. I had a friend who returned far too much thinking he could get away with it. They closed his account and he lost all his kindle purchases. He tried to use an uncles account but get stuff shipped to his address using his credit car and they closed his uncles account too. Now he's married and his wife has an account but he cannot use any cards with his name when buying things.

That sounds possible for sure yeah, I did send an email to explain and they seemed nice about it. I definitely think my account is flagged now, even though they said if I had to I could still return something without my account being closed.

Looking for some advice. Bought a screen protector for my n3ds off Ebay. Estimated arrival was Mar 23 - Apr 05. I still haven't received it. First time buying something off Ebay some I'm not sure if this sort of delay is normal. I figure it's probably stuck in customs, I'm just unsure how long I should wait before contacting the seller.

Pretty normal if it's coming from China. It can take up to a month or two for it to arrive.

Is it coming from China or Japan? I've posted before - there's been a noticeable slowdown in 2016. There's a big thread on rfd about it. 1-3 months.

Couldn't pass on the Chibi Robo deal. After PM at BB it came to less than $13 which is what a regular amiibo goes for.

Deal maybe?

EBgames has Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition new for 39,99 (PS4 or XBO). I price matched at Best Buy (still 59,99) and got the 10% off. Good western RPG for those interested and I don't remember seeing it at that price.

Amazon is seriously the best. Canada Post lost my package for Dark Souls 3 and I contacted Amazon chat and they gave me a replacement order for free.

yup same exact thing happened to me, still sucks that we get it late, I really wanted to play it this weekend!

I canceled Ratchet and Clank, I want to play it but I dunno. It's more likely to be $20 on PSN than for Star Fox to be on sale for 30% off.

I can wait, since I never even finished Ratchet 2 or 3 yet anyways.

I guess I'm lucky Amazon didn't ship it out. If they shipped it I would have kept it or risk getting banned lol.

How much did you return? I've returned a few more things recently because of issues. I've been ordering more from them and rolling the dice on some stuff. I don't want to push them too far because they've been great with me.

They allowed me to return faulty/crappy memory outside of my 30 day window.

By the way, if you are looking for DDR4 beware of Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 UDIMM. Nothing but trouble. 1 DIMM was dead and the other wouldn't POST reliably without overvolt and downclock. Wasted much of my Saturday afternoon with it. I saw the warnings on NewEgg but they were cheap and I gambled.

This happened to me 2 e3's ago when I was explaining why I had all these discounts on my orders. Eventually prices were wrong and I asked them to be corrected and they gave me free shipping on all of them then sent me an email saying that promo never existed and it was called a EA promo. Nothing happened as of yet but i'm scared of doing anything.

The excuse for them watching my account was the same as yours even though I return maybe 1 item a year.

So... killed my iPhone 5S tonight. It's a 16 Gig so I'musing this as an excuse to upgrade. What's the best deal I can find on a Rogers SE or 6?

The 6 isn't worth it. Go with the 6s or SE.

(Former 5s user here)

Unless you can swing a retention deal with your carrier, there's generally no "deals" with iPhones. The deals are either "hey I get a gift card! But the plan is now $20 more", or pay outright for the phone and shop around between smaller labels.

The 5S was fine for me really, only issue was the 16gig. I'll probably just bite the bullet on a 64Gig SE.

The exact same thing happened to me. They lost my copy of DS3 and offered a free replacement. Wouldnt say they are the best though

I just noticed this on my Prime page:
V84lOzS.png

Could this be an explanation to why some Prime members get games on launch day and some do not? Seems like it's a benefit for having a student prime membership as opposed to a regular one.

Will QA for food.
Amazon was very quick to refund me for damaged goods. It was the only case of a lost/damage item from them, but it was literally a single email for the refund.

But but but but but Amazon is the worst! bla bla bla bla

Yeah guys, we better stop being critical of Amazon's other shitty practices. We sure got told. :|

I've had a particularly bad year with Amazon, so far. The start was Senran Kagura Vita. Box came heavily damaged. So did the following replacement, but to a smaller degree. Kept it at a minor discount.

Ordered the Fullmetal Alchemist manga set and it came with the box cut opened, books removed from the sealing plastic, and heavily damaged. Their two replacements came heavily damaged because of poor shipment padding (15lb box, with a single piece of brown paper crumpled on the side of a larger box). Ended up keeping the least damaged with a small discount.

About four of my E3 games that have a cardboard box (Atlus, NIS, etc.) have come crushed to some degree. Usually, I contact Amazon to request better packaging for future orders so this doesn't happen as those flat cardboard mailers always compress and crush boxed games wih poor structure. Usually end up with a minor discount as their replacemet would likely come damaged.

To finish things, I ordered a Kindle Voyage after waiting almost 2 years for it to release in Canada. Came with all the flaws people spoke about in the USA upon release; heavy yellow tint on the upper half, large black pepper-like specks within the glass (different than the paper-grain flecks that look natural), and countless stuck/bright pixels (potentially could be tiny debris stuck between the glass and display during manufacturing process). They sent me several replacements that were also bad, even accidentally sending one of them to the wrong address (I have about 10 transfers from one support chat, even getting the same rep multiple times, before I eventually disconnected). Kindle support was much worse than the typical Amazon support. They would frequently transfer me, when trying to deal with the shipping issue, to Amazon USA support who then sent me to Kindle USA support. Ended up buying a bunch of Kindle eBooks (on sales) over the time I waited for the Kindle Voyage.

One main issue is that Amazon doesn't want photos of the damage, always jumping quickly to the "we have requested a replacement" route without concern for the why or what occurred. I keep photos of all the significant damage, either way.

TLDR: Afraid all of these issues will make them close my account and make me lose access to my eBooks. I have far more orders, withuot issue, than those listed. I may be picky, but I prefer undamaged goods when buying new. This is the first year that issues have been this frequent.

When Canada Post lost my Smash 3DS bestbuy told me to fuck off for at least 1-2 weeks before they would open up a claim on it. I actually straight up asked my mail guy about it and he literally went out of his way to find the house he might have wrongly delivered it to and brought it back to me.

Just picked up Chibi-Robo Zip Lash + amiibo for $15 at EB. I know the game isn't the greatest, but for that price, I couldn't resist. Figured I'd pass it on.
