Think I'll wait to get a switch in the Fall when some games drop. Its so barebones that it's hard to justify $400 + taxes to play Zelda.
Says release date TBD on the NA website.

and I want to love it. I love the design and the idea behind it.
The only things Nintendo had over other console makers are their exclusive first party games and free online.
Now online is paid and they barely have any games ready for this year.

At the end of the day, its pretty much a handheld that can connect to a TV, and there's nothing wrong with that design, and quite frankly I love it, but why would I buy that when I can buy a more powerful system, with a better online ecosystem and a vastly larger library, all readily available right now

I don't blame Nintendo for launching at that price, but I wouldn't be surprised to see at least a 50usd cut in price by Xmas and probably bundled with a game or two.
The question I wonder is Nintendo going to throw out a new hand held, or is the switch going to fullfil that role moving forward...

I mean, I for one am kind of grateful I can plan ahead and know specifically when it will drop. Instead of having us mindlessly mash f5 for naught until the sun goes up, we know exactly when we have to wake up/take a break from work or school to get at this.
I mean, I still plan on mashing f5, but I like knowing that when my spirit weakens and I give up, I will likely still have a chance to preorder what I want to preorder.

ordered one from gamestop.com. apparently they have no issues with shipping the Masters edition to Canada.
