Managed to put 4 hours or so with FFXV last night. Had a good time. Had to stop when it was getting really good too.

Fellow sleep apnea dude here. I'm diagnosed and didn't get a discount on braces at all. $7k (2.5 covered by insurances) for treatment, and I'm getting a surgery that's going to cost me another $2k or so to bring my jaw and chin forward.

And yeah, they can really tell with just x-rays, but needs test to confirm.

Didn't know about the braces thing but I think my issue isn't with my jaws.

I tried cpap last year. It helped with the apnea, but prevented me from sleeping, couldn't stand hearing myself breath. Tried a bunch of masks too, nose only ones worked better, but then the pressure was all kind of fucked up if I instinctively tried breathing through my mouth.

Surgery is going to suck, but at least once it's done, I should sleep much better.

oh and braces for me were optional. They could have done surgery earlier this year instead, but my face would have been weirdly duck shaped or something. So yeah..

Also, braces from when I was a teen in the 90s is in good part to blame for my issues now.

Edit: Unrelated news, my gf finally received her laptop after the fedex tracking was stuck at label created for almost a week.

Edit 2 : Another thing that I had to do / that helped.. I lost weight. I went from 180ish pounds to hovering around 155. I'm not sure how much it did, but it's supposed to have helped.

I should get my $40 FS FFXV in the mail soon from Best Buy.... along with a full price version of the same game because Best Buy sucks. That one is going straight back to the store.

Well, once I realize that it's such a pain to get my 2tb drive backed up, I'm feeling a bit reticent to do it. Maybe if they let me get the Pro, do a transfer, than do the trade in after.

I think the most common issue is with the throat tissue, which is why my doctor said that most surgical options don't fix the problem. But that was years ago.

Used to be $210 value for the old PS4/XB1 and then -50 off the price of the Pro so $499 - $50 - $210.

Same, put about 2 hours in yesterday and a couple more this morning before work. Loving it so far.

Are you guys going with English or JP voices?

I don't mind the English voices but all the trailers I watched for it, before going into media blackout, had JP voices so I got a little used to them and am tempted to switch over.

English voices and everyone sounds OK for now(aside from young Luna).

Also played 2 hours but I still can't make up my mind about the game yet(so far it feels like another pointless time-waster like DAI and XCX but with more engaging combat).

It wasn't a serious case but I was tired of hearing my wife talking about me doing cover fire a-la-Gears of War (grenade included) and trying to capture her in a Pokémon ball and since we have kids, I don't want them to have a weird impression of me at night. :)

So I went to a sleep clinic but the doctor diagnosed sleep apnea and thus, there I was with a CPAP. At first, my wife thought I was dead since I wasn't moving at all but then, the sleepwalker in me came back, I remove my CPAP and start running again after my imaginary kids.

I should wear it but honestly, I don't see an improvement, I'm not less tired (I know I should get to bed early because I wake up early but I cheat) and while I have a slight weight problem, I've been sleepwalking since I was a bone-thin kid (now 38 yo) so I am not convinced that my weight is the problem.

I wore braces as a teen. Did wonders to my smile :)

Thanks for sharing. For me, it's my gf that for years was telling me that I stop breathing when I sleep then gasp for air urgently. I never believed her at first. (I have no memories of these events, and they happen a lot).

But I did get tested eventually and yeah.. huge apnea problems.

That happened to me once for Steamworld Collection. The outer sleeve wasn't damaged and I figured I could swap the cases so I let it go, didn't wanna deal with the hassle.

Pretty sure I have the same issue. I had braces about 7-8 years ago, but my family's dentist is pretty bad. I think I have a problem with grinding my teeth as well as my jaw being out of proper alignment. Always wake up tired, too, no matter how much I sleep. I should book a sleep test. Anyone here done one?

If Intelcom ever feels like delivering my copy I'll be playing it with Japanese voices, yesterday I watched Brotherhood that way (it's great, I recommend it).

Fun fact: both Ignis and Okabe Rintarou (Steins;Gate) are voiced by Mamoru Miyano, which were both released (FFXV and S;G0) this Tuesday. I'm currently playing S;G0 in the meantime.

Want to buy a NES classic, keep missing the in-stock windows because of #life.

Amazon delivered the black friday haul on Tuesday using Canada Post. I was very surprised.

If anyone is looking for rockband 4 for xbone with legacy adapter, cheapest looks to be Amazon.com. Got it for about $40 (includes shipping and import fees) plus exchange and Amazon.ca/eb have it for over $100.

Never done one but you have to go see your family dr or a walkin and they'll give you a sleep study referral.

Canada post delivered my Future shop copy. Surprised they didn't do a "attempt to delivery failed" given the no safe drop notice. But saves me the trip to the post office.

Did one in august 2015. Did it at home though, cheaper and less of a pain than sleeping at a sleep clinic. It was kind of uncomfortable to sleep with all the stuff wrapped to me. But I learned that I stop breathing for more than 10 seconds something like every minute or so when I sleep on my back, and every 4 minutes on the side.

There was a November 2015 30% off deal at Amazon. That's when I ordered it too.

Also, just got a message that Amazon dropped off my copy of Final Fantasy XV. No update on tracking at all. I guess they found it in sub space.

I did just buy one from Best Buy too. I will return that tomorrow.

I mean, in a way it's exactly like piracy tbh. It's not going to hurt the developer unless you actually intended to buy the product in the future but you are taking something that you have no right to. Pretty sure no cost will occur the developer because of this but maybe Sony will be forced to compensate them somehow.

Well I definitely hope that Sony does take responsibility for those issues, but then again I do not trust corporations to do the right thing ever.

Yeah the English voices are fine, I don't have any actual issues with them. Just a preference thing.

If you don't like the open world stuff then just push forward with the story. Personally I'm really get a kick out of the traversal, both by foot and car. Having that car just feels so satisfying for some reason. And the items you find out in the field are actually quite nice.

Oh, they are voiced by the same dude? Pretty cool.

Really enjoyed Brotherhood and Kingsglaive, both were a really nice set up for the main game.

Just had a chat with Amazon customer support. I asked them to never use Intelcom to ship packages to me again. Not sure it'll actually work but at least I tried.

Mamoru Miyano does have a wide range though, which is why I like him so much. He tends to play characters that are slightly (or less slightly) crazy and speak in multiple ways (Okabe in Steins;Gate, Masaomi in Durarara, Berg Katze in Gatchaman Crowds, etc.) With that said Ignis will most likely not be a great showcase of his talent though.

That never works. It's like some strange logistics system that picks what service to use.

That said, I wonder if that trick where you just put in a fake PO Box number still works? I remember people saying that forced them to pick Canada Post since couriers can't deliver to PO Boxes.
