It does feel like a missed opportunity to not have released RE7 as a shadow drop immediately after the direct, and then maybe somewhere between Black Friday and Christmas for Village. That would have been a good way to build hype/momentum for the new release.

Resident Evils are their own hype machines.

I think a lot of the hyperbole and incorrect information around Switch 2 stems from assumptions like this.
