Most likely Onimusha seeing DMC and Dino Crisis has a western feel and Onimusha has always been that Feudal setting. Making westerners turn their heads indeed.
Turn their heads in disinterest maybe, lol.
Whenever JPN devs are talking about catching up to the west it's always about graphics or scope. I think this new game has a high chance of astounding, visually speaking.
Shut your whore mouth. If it weren't for Onimusha, Dante would not exist.

It was Resident Evil actually...

Stop laughing Arma ! I want Gargoyle's Quest 4 / Demon's Crest 2 / An Action Exploration game with Return FireBrand !
IMO, DMC should totally ditch the whole "20 missions" structure of the game.
Just make it a game about dante doing his job. Hunting demons.
The main menu of the game would be dante in his office eating pizza of whatever, and you have demon hunting contracts to choose from, each contract could vary in length, some short, some long, vary in difficulty and vary in the objective. Go clear an area of demons, rescue someone, defeat X of this type of demon, or go defeat the boss. I'm sorta thinking like Monster Hunter in this regard. Get money for successfully doing missions.
In addition to that certain missions are main story missions that feel like traditional DMC missions, bookended by cutscenes and whatnot. You could even have multiple stories running co-currently.
And (capcom would love this part) they could sell us additional DLC/expansions containing new missions, bosses, weapons, etc.
I can't take all this teasing...Not necessarily, reading this thread and seeing what most people are asking for, Capcom will eventually please most people from the looks of it. It's right there in the OP, they're not working on just one game after all. There are many. Folks should be more optimistic, it's not like Capcom can churn out half a dozen new IPs in quick succession, they've obviously going to revisit their more notable ones. Though, in all honesty, I'd probably like it a lot more if they did just manage to make a lot of new IPs. It's just always more interesting to see something you don't expect, or something which feels different or fresh.

Actually, this is pretty much what I would like to see if they were to change up how the progression works.IMO, DMC should totally ditch the whole "20 missions" structure of the game.

Resident Evil 7. Unlikely though with the two lower level RE projects coming soon.

Marvel vs Capcom 4. Make it happen.
Yeah, it doesn't need to be about saving the world all the time. And this way there can be more variety in locations and characters.

You can bet that whatever it is, it's not what you want it to be.

Absolutely. This is Capcom we're talking about.
Please be it a BERSERK game ! We desperately need one and they already have the licence covered thanks to Dragon's Dogma's cross promotion.

I like your idea. It'd really work well if they ditched the main storyline they have right now, and bring it away from the over the top cheesiness. That way a lot of it can sort of escalate from you taking on missions and focus more around the hunting aspect of it all. You have a hub like you suggested, and from there can take on a variety of missions, some main missions, and others which are side missions. I think DMC would benefit greatly from something like this. Right now, it's really held back by it's story and writing (which is too crappy even for video game standards), and Capcom needs to address that whilst keeping the core fanbase happy in order to appeal to larger audience.IMO, DMC should totally ditch the whole "20 missions" structure of the game.

Dragons Dogma Definitive Edition
Day 1
It's a fine line, and they're on the wrong side of it. Capcom knows this which is why they tried to address it, but they went to another planet with it and it ultimately led nowhere. There's nothing wrong with reigning it in, keeping some humour and wacky action, without coming across as juvenile.That's.... kind of one of the things people really like about it though.
Its gonna be something that will even turn heads overseas.
