i pretty much feel like if they're gonna do this reboot it needs to be w/ a BANG! ie a scary-ass Carnage as the baddie. Absolutely here for it!

I wonder how big of a role spiderman will get in the movie. at first we all thinking it's just a small cameo. but now it seems he show up earlier than I expected.

I mean, we now know he appear before Warmachine is taken out, which I assume takes place somewhere in the middle of the movie before they all deal with Zemo.

I hope they didn't treat spiderman like in X-Men DoFP where quicksilver only show up for a setpiece and then gone for the rest of the movie.

That's likely exactly whatll happen.

I think we're gonna get one scene at home with Peter and Aunt May, and then this scene of Spider-man at the airport. that's it

So I think the trailers are being a little understated with the reason the Civil War kicks off. Clearly Tony has built a crazy ass prison, I imagining thats what causes stuff to blow up after tensions rise from the Bucky/Steve bromance and whatever other restrictions they wanted on the Avengers.

The start of trailer shows the watery area where the prison is being in the arctic and thats where it looks like Tony and Cap are fighting in the climatic showdown.

We're likely missing a lot of context. The Russos have continually said if Winter Soldier is a political thriller, then Civil War is a psychological thriller, which is something we haven't really seen evidenced in the trailers yet. I'm super curious how that manifests itself in the plot.

I think we're getting at least three or four scenes

1) Peter in his home made suit and how he meets Stark.

2) Peter and Stark before the battle

3) Peter fighting in the battle

4) Peter switching sides. Probably getting a good pep talk from Cap

Just the fact that a venom movie is a possibility excites me

It's not going to be the Venom movie you want. It's going to be a Poochi Venom

Unless you have an actor/Feige/director on board, movie execs will just make it fit their criteria and marketing statistics.

they're still hiding a lot of the movie from the trailers, we haven't even see Zemo character in any of the trailer, and Sharon Carter as well as Martin Freeman character barely shown at all.

also, I thought I read somewhere that Cap will get his chainmail costume. not sure if that's just a rumor or not, but if it's true, it probably mean we haven't seen any footage from the third act of the movie.

Maybe the psychological thriller is convincing the audience that it isn't going to be another AoU letdown. Lol.

I wonder how Marvel and Feige will feel about that Venom movie. wouldn't a stand alone Venom movie will mean that Venom will not be in MCU for a while. can't Sony just hire Marvel again to at least help write the script.

why is Sony doing this anyway. I mean, why not ask Marvel for help with Venom movie also.

What do you lot think will be the scope of the BP's Cape? It's at 1.05 in the trailer and it seems I am the only person in the world to notice.

When he figures out Stark has been using him, he'll rip his cape off and strangle the motherfucker with it.

Because Sony still has the rights to all Spider-man movies. His inclusion in Civil War was a licensing thing. Needless to say, Sony still want to make money with that property, and what better way that to use a fan-favorite character.

So I looked more into Black Panther and holy shit is he OP.

This guy has created a teleportation device and all sort of crazy shit. I can definitely see why so many see him in high regards.

Man am I really hyped to see him and Spidey in action.

That shot of t'challa without the suite on makes it seem like he will have the same mindset at Bruce in BvS. I'm guessing he was in the middle of one of the attacks (maybe the one in Africa in AoU with the Hulk?)and thinks they're all far too dangerous to go unchecked.

The "Tony builds Peter's suit" BS needs to stop. It's based on absolutely nothing. It's fine to present it as a possibility, but people are building other rumors off of it as if it were fact, making those rumors sound completely laughable.

As it is, what we've seen of Spidey is his suit in the movie. There's no indication of a homemade suit/duct-tape hoodie thing, there's no indication of Stark making this kid a suit, there's no indication that Peter doesn't make his own.

Unrelated: I do like that the symbol on his chest is both a spider and a man.

I mean this is Sony Pictures we're talking about. The company that was hacked by North Korea, rebooted Spiderman twice, and hired Tom Rothman among other things.
It's chaos over there.

The Russos and others have described Panther having a personal interest in taking down Bucky, and also being sort of neutral (on Stark's team but more because their interests are aligned on something). So my guess is that T'Challa and his dad are attending some UN thing about the Avengers, the building is attacked, T'Challa's father dies, and Bucky is framed for it (maybe a set-up by Zemo?) so Panther goes after him. He's only siding with Stark to get closer to Bucky and might not even care about registration.

If I recall, Feige did say that as of AoU, Peter was running around New York in a homemade prototype Spider-Man suit.

Feige's comment was an off-the-cuff thing presented as a possible answer to 'how is Spiderman showing up right now?'...the idea is that, for all we know, some kid's running around NY in a homemade costume, just not making any waves/headlines. It wasn't meant as a "this is what Peter's doing when we meet him" thing.

Of course, they may do that, but putting an evolution of a costume for a cameo character into a movie focused on completely unrelated events seems a bit far-fetched.

You would think that movie killed people's dogs or something based on the hate it gets.
After rewatching it once in theaters & twice on Blu-Ray, Age of Ultron was more disappointing than bad. It was a pretty good film, but definitely not Guardians or Winter Soldier good. It did rank amongst the B-Tier films in my ranking (alongside Thor 1, Iron Man 3, & Cap 1).

I NEED RECIEPTS

It's also not at all impossible the suit we just saw IS his homemade suit.

All his suits are homemade suits in his movies.

You actually see both Maguire and Garfield making their suits in their movies.

but yeah, this is a thing I've talked about before as being weird. It's basically evidence that people are so used to a Spidey introduction being an origin that they can't imagine a scenario where he's in a movie and he's just Spidey.

I NEED RECIEPTS

The quote comes from the Crave Online piece, which said the following:
"It will not be an origin story," Feige continued. "But, with great power comes great responsibility. It is inherent to who his character is. But we want to reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the MCU dealing with his powers."

"There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU, you just don’t know it yet," he said, laughing.

Yeah, it was a mediocre film at worst, though I'm one of the few that actually enjoyed it. But it definitely isn't as bad as say, X-Men 3.

A must be one of the handful of people on Gaf who thought AoU was really good.

cusi it was

Suppose the dissonance comes from the costume being not quite cheap and not quite fancy. Some call it a Halloween costume. Some say it's sleeker than a kid could build. In my opinion, it's fancier than the ASM2 suit. #TeamStarkSuit #BlackPanther #Whowillwin

I have no hate for AoU or Whedon. Just a deep sense of disappointment knowing they could have done much better than what they put out.

I can understand the comments about it being disappointing, especially coming after Winter Soldier and Guardians. But there are definitely people exaggerating how bad it was. It isn't a terrible film by any means.

I still hold that AoU was a better movie than Avengers, but Avengers was the better event...if that makes any sense?

AoU just felt like it had more story to tell (and would have benefited from an extra 20 minutes or so) and the interactions between the characters were much better. There were definite missteps with Ultron being a bit too petulant and a bit too emotional, not enough time was spent getting us to feel for the twins, making Quicksilver's death a lot less meaningful, and Thor's vision with the Norns ABSOLUTELY should have remained in the movie (the hack-job that was left just didn't work, but also couldn't be fully removed). That last one is purely the fault of the studio.

Age of ultron, no joke, made me think the superhero train was slowing down.

It was that bad.

Up there with the worst of Marvels films for me. They bit off way more than they could chew for that one. Definitely one of the more forgettable movies out there too. I've forgotten the jist of the story or the action beats as well.

Definitely remember those awful accents from quicksilver and scarlet witch and the fun party scene tho

To be fair, I don't think it's possible for Joss Whedon to direct a movie you'd enjoy.
