It's almost wrong to hope for it in a movie that stuffed, but would a video message from Michael Douglas be too much? He killed it in Ant-Man.

I don't think so, and I don't hope so. There was too much Michael Douglas in Ant-Man, even though his performance were very good, and I liked it.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Just in general,
could Spiderman take on Iron-Man AND Captain America ? Pretty sure he can handle the Captain...dont know about Iron-Man, since i never bothered with his comics/tv-shows growing up but at least in the movies he seems quite powerful.

Of course he can. At the same time. Raw super strength, superior intellect, precognitive ability, martial arts training - Spider-Man can't be fucked with by the vast majority of characters.

I wonder if Hank Pym will be pro registration. we know he didn't like Avengers in the first place. so more restriction to them probably appeal him. but then again, if he's involved with it, he'll be working with Tony Stark and Ross, 2 people which I had a feeling Pym not gonna like much.

Tbh, I'm still 50/50 on Spidey's suit. I think I would like it better if the black webbing was thicker. But I thought the delivery of the line was pitch perfect! That's exactly how I expected a teenage kid first introducing himself to a bunch of established superheroes to sound like - that hesitant tone, only to put a "game face" on when the eyes "squint" to try and mask that nervousness right away. Loved it.

Yeah Spider-man could conceivably take Iron Man and Cap.

It's possible Holland was on set in suit with the shield for reference material for that shot, but in the trailer it's very obviously a cg model.

Thanks - its been a while just had to make sure that i remembered it correctly. MCU Captain America and Iron-Man are quite powerful and get a lot of hype - made me forget that Spidey is essentially a tier above them. Unless im missing something i dont know how either of them could take him out...

I remember watching Spectacular Spiderman as kid...Spidey was so OP in that show - loved it.

So.. is no one going to talk about the prison that seemingly appears to be in the middle of the ocean ? The MCU equivalent of Project 42 perhaps ?

Anybody can be taken out if the story requires them to be. Everybody takes a loss at some point.

Except Squirrel Girl for some odd reason.

Will likely become another plotpoint; wonder if "the raft" will have some prisoners already.

Maybe they moved the Abomination to that prison.

Sure - im talking about their feats and regular used skills - plot no jutsu or prep-time can finish of every character...but stat wise Spidey is only outshined by the Marvel big guns.

The thing with his recently acquired martial arts abilities puts him over the top in a way that he wasn't before because martial arts in the Marvel Universe is basically a superpower in itself when you consider the kind of shit characters like Shang Chi and Daredevil or Batman can pull off. Having that kind of discipline to go along with his spider-sense should make him virtually untouchable among most of his earthbound peers.

I didnt know about that - when did he obtain Martial Arts abilities ? I always thought he already had mastered some kind of Martial Art the way he beat the shit out of gangsters.

I dont know who Shang Chi is - and all i know from Darefevil is the time he showed up in Spectacular Spiderman and from the Netflix Show S1.

from all the movies, it didn't seem like he has any kind of special martial arts skills. Just that his spidey senses, speed and power give him the edge in fights.

Edit: ah, reading post below me, we are talking about comic storyline.

A few years ago he lost his spider-sense and had trouble adjusting, was taking more hits than usual, so he went to Shang Chi for training - learning how fight blindfolded, further developing his reflexes, etc. Later, he got the spider-sense back. Had already had some fight training from Cap previously (I think), but Shang Chi is on an entirely different level from everybody else.

Ummm no...Superman Returns is divisive, Man Of Steel is just poop.

I just can't understand how people can think Superman returns is better than Man of Steel.

Captain America movies always advance the universe I'm really looking forward to this one. I think the CG Spiderman looks pretty bad to be honest. Black Panther looks dope though.

Superman Returns was a more accurate portrayal of Superman as a person, but was a retread of a lame story - if you actually care about his characterization, it's a better movie. Man of Steel had more and better punching - some people prefer that.

I have a feeling Spidey will be the 'heart' of the movie, so to speak; the idea of a 16 year-old growing up idolising his heroes only for them to fight seems to be a great opportunity to have him be the reasonable one.
Spidey is Captain Marvel (Shazam) confirmed

Well the point of Man of Steel is that he isn't Superman yet until the end of the film honestly. Man of Steel is about Clark Kent coming to terms with who he is and adopting the Superman Persona which is much more important.

Superman returns uses the terrible idea that Superman is the persona and Clark Kent is the disguise which is terrible because Clark isn't Bruce.

One thing i'm disappointed about regarding the Cap film series is we won't see Cap of the 1950s or Steve give up the mantle for a time.

This is not the thread for this and I do see where you are coming from and your point is debatable.
But to me even if returns is a better portrayal of the character it was so boring/cheesey/slow and the other characters were so bad it is still the weaker of the two. He literally is stalking Lois and listening to her personal conversation with her boyfriend.

Back to the point I really hope the minor characters shine in this movie. They are using it as a spring board for Black Panther and Spiderman so hopefully they have their moments.

Neither Superman or Clark Kent would let his father die in a hurricane. There is no excuse for that.

I still wonder about the choice of using Ross as the bearer of bad news in this film. Marvel has done a pretty good job of convincing everyone that the only thing we should remember from Incredible Hulk was the bootleg Super soldier serum and the Harlem brawl.

I would love a Thunderbolts or Dark Avengers tease. I mean, we still don't know what Zemo is doing at all and the Abomination has been chilling for like 8 years now.
