Catherine is a fantastic experience with a simple, fun and challenging arcade game at its core. It should not be missed by anyone who wants to enjoy a story with the emotional depth to match its adult themes and with multiple endings and side stories to resolve, there's a fair bit of inducement to return for a second or third pass. The action of the tower climbing is superb, though it certainly will not appeal to all audiences, but is made easy enough to allow those only interested in the story to see through to its conclusion. Those who love pushing blocks, however, will have endless hours of fun ahead of them.

The fanatic inside me really wants to see this game sell well, and allow for a repeat of Demon's Souls, success-story-wise. Hopefully all these reviews give it a boost in that direction...
Pretty much agree with them. I, too, was disappointed with some of the endgame plot stuff (although maybe a bit more than them?), but I still enjoyed the game a great deal overall.dili said:

Overly demanding requirements for unlocking additional modes
Occasional camera and control troubles

Wow, I'm suddenly very interested in this game. I try to avoid plopping $60 on games, but I feel like I should do my part towards supporting fresh ideas. Looks like I'll be paying Amazon a visit tonight.

I think I just read a major spoiler on somethingawful's one-sentence review in their weekly video game article on the front page.
Uhh......
Then again I may have seen a much bigger spoiler by accidentally pausing the trailer on a quick shot where something very clearly twist-related was happening.
Still a minor bummer though.

I missed my pay period leaving me with about $70 to live on for the next two weeks. I can cancel my preorder and save the money or keep it and only have $30 to spend on food. I'm not canceling my order.
