You won't. Those are actual iPhone 4 pics.

Not that I looked at them for a while or anything...

Yeah, I know that they are. The only reason I was still hoping was that there are bigger iPhone 4 pics on flickr

Ah, I didn't realize that the 2 cameras had different resolutions
Yup. Back camera is that spiffy 5MP one. The front is a VGA camera, which I thought was only 640x480, but those pics are 768x1024.

I really loved the episode. I think both this and Castle started great into the new season. Can't wait to see how Jeff and Lester fit in the new setting (
CIAmore
)

Chuck is officially a cartoon now. Defcon 1 button in the Buy More + insane impractical slide in the buy more + them traveling around the world and shrugging off $45,000 in debt for a joke. It's morphed into a completely different show. I'll keep watching but I am official neutral on season 4 at this point.

Other random thoughts:

- Levi's haircut is a big improvement.
- Bizarre seeing Munn guest star, considering she is someone I have worked with (albeit very peripherally) in the past.
- I can't get over how stupid the CIA buy more is. Is there a possibly a worse cover than a big box retail store that will have thousands of customers a day? And an all glass front? It makes no sense.

Good episode to kick off the season, even if I don't remember anything about the last season finale and was left a little confused through most of it. I cringed when they brought back the Buy More though, how many times are they going to trick the audience into believing he's leaving that place only to bring him back yet again. I'm also not feeling the CIA run Buy More. It doesn't make any sense and feels really contrived.

Anyways, the shot when Dolph hit the EMP and blacked out the city was really well done. I also like the change in style the show is going for, I hope they run with it.

I mostly agree now. I thought the travel gags were really odd, and felt like they condensed an entire season into an episode.

That's definitely great. I've always liked her in Chuck and I think her character more potential than "do this, do that and don't screw up" at the beginning of the episode and "good/bad/awful work" at the end.

Yeah, it definitely feels a little cartoonish but that's fine by me. The show was never really realistic in the first place.

A season with the team apart and no Jeffster is not a season I'd want to see though.

Probably been asked a thousand times already, but what I have missed between the season's 3 finale and season 4 first ep ? It's like... I missed an ep or something ?

Chuck ended May 24 last season, if you watched all the way up to there you should not be confused. Unless you forgot to come back after the small break that started April 5 and lasted to April 26, then there is no reason to be confused

Well, the last ep I saw was:

Chuck's Dad being killed, Elie and Awesome chasing the car, going into a spy life and such

I'm pretty sure that was the season finale. But you are making me doubt now !

I think you missed an episode...

If you were watching live on TV, two episodes aired that night. If you only saw one, then you missed the finale. If you saw both, then you are safe, but then I am not sure why you are confused.

Well, in the first ep of season four:

They said Buy More has been rebuild (but I can't remember it was destroyed or anything, I don't know that hot chick that welcomes Chuck & Morgan. I can't remember Chuck looking for a new job, because in the last ep, he was consider rogue from the CIA and General Beckman and all his team as well, they were like, alone against the entire Ring...

And now, Chuck is a civilian, living happy, looking for his mother (What ? I never heard of her as a spie in the show) and Beckman shows up like a flower in a Buy More...

Damn, I'm confused. I'll have to check my episodes from last season, I must have missed one, but I was sure I didn't back then.

Yeah you missed the very last episode then.

Yeah, I am sure you missed the last episode of Season 3 now.

The last episode had
Flashbacks to when Chuck and Ellie were kids
<=== not a huge spoiler, but something you should know if you seen or not

As HixxSAFC said, you definitely missed the very last episode of the season three. It sounds like you saw "vs. the Subway," but missed "vs. the Ring: Part II."

Finally watched the premiere, thought it was a good episode.

Also, I about died when Lundgren said
"If they die, they die"
. I loved it. :D Lol @ the sexting as well.
"SOS? Skin on skin?"

I'm looking forward to the reintroduction of Awesome and Jeffster. Also Casey's daughter, she's hot.

Just as a reminder for everyone, you don't need to use spoiler tags once the episode has aired in the US east coast (I'm not counting the stuff about last season's final, since it was just people trying not to ruin it for UnluckyKate).

Really liked the first episode. The CIA / Buymore was a little over the top, but I thought it was a solid episode that got right back into the swing of things and potentially set up the rest of the season well.

Finaly catch my missed ep. So good. Know the season's four premier make waaaaaay more sens :lol

Lundgren as a blonde evil russian is really believable. God, I lived in Russia and I was enjoying evey bits of this last part. All the puns about the cold, the accent, the rusty facility and Casey " time to kill some russians " :lol

There the usual over-the-top Chuck things (Buy More, etc) but hey, it's Chuck, it's why we watch this.

Chuck is back. It feels good man (nearly as good as Sarah taking pic of herself in the jet)

I disagree a lot with his first point. I like the show because while it has drama, for the most part it keeps a light-hearted nature. I think the show loses a lot of its charm if it goes down a dark drama route.

Second point I could agree with, although I think they sort of approached that with Shaw last year.
And isn't Dolph's boss supposed to sort of be a season long bad guy this year?

As for the third point, I would be fine with them moving the Chuck/Sarah romance into the background. It got pretty overbearing last year. Although I disagree with his reasoning. I think their chemistry together is great.

Points four and five I would be fine with.

I believe he/she is supposed to be a season long threat, but they may not have an actor playing that character until the very end of the season. It might be one of those situations where the organization harasses Team Bartowski all season rather than the character. I suspect the reason behind not having a season long villain is partially a budget restriction. It'd be a decent chunk of change to get a guest star on for a long stretch.

In any case, I do agree with his point that having a more long term villain would be a good thing since they have weekly bad guys that are entertaining, but they're typically dead or jailed by the end of the episode. It feels like we don't get enough mileage out of a lot of the good ones.

None of the usual Buy More characters and Devon 'Captain Awesome' were in the first episode, which made the episode unusual. Yeah I know that they probably won't get every character in each episode because of budget cuts. Plus I'm still not convinced Morgan is a spy agent. Chuck is already an agent now Morgan. Seems a bit redundant though it does add comic relief.

I still like the show and will watch every week. :D

It is interesting that Levi is not as huge a celebrity as many of the other people in the auction, but has the highest bids. It goes to show how feverishly devoted people are to the show that he can attract that kind of attention with so few followers.

Yeah, it is sort of crazy. Although despite what the article said, I was under the impression Levi had said something about taking the winner out for coffee or something back when it was still at $4,000 because he was surprised at how large the bidding had become.

Either way, it shows just how dedicated the fanbase is for the show. And Levi seems like a really cool guy.

Was Yvonne in on the auction? She could make the winning bidder have the opportunity to just get a glimpse of her in person and that would drive the price sky high.

No she wasn't. Probably since she just started using twitter like a month or two ago. Actually seeing how Chuck's audience is male dominated I would be curious if she get a higher price than Levi.

She has a lot less followers too. Perhaps if Baldwin were in on it he would give you a phone call and just grunt into the phone.

In the good news for Chuck ratings, it is still NBC's top rated spy show, well at least in the 18-49 demographics. Undercover only pulled a 2.0/6 last night, although it had about 2 million more total viewers.

That's great considering Chuck had less promotion and is in a much more difficult time slot.

I kind of browsed the thread and did not see anything,
but my wife and father-in-law are convinced that Chuck's mother (Frost Queen) was pregnant when she was reading the story to him in 1994... does this mean a younger sibling?
??!?!?

You don't need to use tags for speculation unless it is based on actual spoilers that haven't aired yet. I would have to watch the scene again, but I can't really see them going that way. It would be sort of goofy for his father not to mention something about that to him, plus it would be a bit similar to the Alex storyline from last year.

Also I know some people disliked them bringing back the Buy More again. Axel Serenity over on the SA boards mentioned that it was actually Warner Brothers (he works on the lot) who pushed to bring it back, not NBC. The entire set is pretty much a giant opportunity for in-show advertising (think the Call of Duty display from a season or two ago you always saw in the background) and with the budget cuts they need as much money as possible.

Glad to see Chuck back. I thought as the premiere started with all the talk of cancellation around season 2, I can't believe we zipped past 3 and now on season 4! :)

Was surprised to see Harry Dean Stanton playing the Repo Man, made me grab my Repo Man DVD and try to remember any quotes to see if he'd say anything specific, like plate of shrimp. :lol

(I'm sure someone's mentioned the "Repo Man" connection, but I haven't read through the entire thread, only skimmed it.)

Two bits of news. The first photo of Karolina Kurkova's guest spot next week was released by E!.

Summer-Glau-Zachary-Levi_320.jpg

Summer Glau will also be a guest star later this season on Chuck.

It’s not a back nine pickup, but as far as welcome Chuck news goes I’ll happily take it: Summer Glau has signed on to guest star as the show’s newest Greta!

The Sarah Connor Chronicles siren and EW Sexiest Beast finalist has been tapped to play the Buy More’s rotating undercover agent in this season’s eighth episode, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Other upcoming Gretas include Stacy Keibler and Isaiah Mustafa. Olivia Munn originated the role in Monday’s season premiere (and was hilarious).

Glau will next appear opposite David Lyons in NBC’s midseason drama The Cape.

Not really a spoiler, but it does mention her role on the show.
