They picked the two best GRETAs. Better than Munn and Glau by a country mile.
Well yeah. The GRETAs are superficial to begin with, but what I was saying was that they chose the one that really didn't do a whole lot in their episode besides get knocked out.

good episode, funniest one in awhile, i miss these ones where the story really isn't tied too much into an overarching plot.

but where was my stacy keibler-yvonne fight???

they need a do-over of the shower cat fight at Sarah's high school reunion but replace nicole richie lol

I liked yesterday's episode, it was a good launching pad for the ending streak of the season. It featured some of the bigger plot holes we've seen in a while though, which is surprising since it was written by Phil Klemmer, who was there in the early seasons.

For example, how can the government just flip a switch to remove the Intersect from the GRETAs when it was very problematic back in season 2 when Chuck wanted it out. As far as I know, the work of Chuck's dad was destroyed along with the first Intersect 2.0 in Ring. And the episode adds insult to injury by having someone say "Intersect code is impossible to crack".

I also wish the two teams had been in competition for just a little longer than a single episode. The CIA invested millions to expand Castle, only to bury the new team after a single failed mission?

Well, I responded earlier on my phone, but it didn't post for some reason. I would like to see the laptop explained more. Could be that Papa B. built in de-intersecting into the computer. He did it for Chuck once so logically he would know how to recreate it. We don't know what he was up to between the time after S2 and when he showed back up in S3.

I get your point on the new team, but I think they haven't abandoned it totally. The two agents did fail pretty spectacularly. Speculation based of the promo:
That's the reason in the promo, I think anyway, that they are looking for more "Chucks". People that can be agent, but also have the ability to think on their feet and use and leverage the information that the intersect gives back that Rick wasn't able to do.

question: has anyone gone back and re-watched the first season of Chuck recently? if so how does it hold up?

I've thought about buying the first season to complete my set, but i just remember it being kinda "meh", in fact i didn't watch a few first eps from the 2nd season cuz i didn't really care about it

So, dunno if it's worth it to buy, i can barely even remember the first season

I love the first season. It feels so different to how Chuck is now.

Also Harry Tang is amazing.

THE WORDS! They'll drift away without the _!
First season of Chuck was great. Very different to how the show is now though.

I quite enjoyed this weeks episode, more than the last few anyhow.

Renewal info (sort of) from that guy that used to work at E!Online:
Question: Any word on a renewal for Chuck yet? I hope to God that it comes back next season! —Archana

Ausiello: Let’s put it this way: Boss men Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak are in no way, shape or form being subtle in expressing to NBC their expectation that the show will return. How unsubtle? The title of the May 16 season finale is “Chuck vs. The Cliffhanger.”

This year is really peculiar. From the outside, the show's prospects seem lower than ever. Every single TV site has it on the bubble at best. Yet the show's cast and crew all seem completely confident that they'll get another season, which isn't something they used to do in prior seasons.

Anyway, I chuckled (pun semi-intended) reading that title. That seems rather ballsy. (and PS to Corn, your season is longer than ours :p The season finale is actually episode 4.24, not 4.25 which doesn't exist)

Yeah, it is odd to see them so confident they will get renewed. Guess that means it wont get renewed then. :(

But with so much on NBC tanking, and Chuck staying rather consistent, it might just get a final 13 and be done with it.

That bothered me too. Maybe the CIA reverse engineered what Papa Bartowski did to remove the Intersect from Chuck the first time?

The first season is solid. It starts off a little slow and ends a little abruptly (damn writers strike), but the middle is good. The two Lou episodes and Vs. The Alma Mater are great episodes.

I dont like like how sarah has become a normal sitcom love interest now. I liked it better when she was a bit cold in the earlier seasons. Everyone is too lovey dovey now.

Sad to say but i think the show needs to end, character arcs seem to be done plots points are feeling stretched.

That's kinda what I'm hoping for. As much I want to see more Chuck, I'd much rather have the writers be able to craft a definitive ending and not end the series on a cliffhanger because they don't know if they're coming back or not.

In other words, I wish NBC would have the balls and tell the people at Chuck the status of the show so they know in what direction they can take the story.

So why did Chuck know that "sea water" would disable the bomb but not the other intersects if they were going off of the same intel?

I actually agree with you. Whatever happened to the badass super spy Sarah? I say let her/Chuck get married this season and just be done with the show.

I was wondering why the other agents didn't flash..I guess to make Chuck "special"

Quite simple, the other two didn't bother trying to remove the detonator. Chuck did, and it caused him to flash a second time, this time telling him sea water would disable it.

has anyone pointed out that they were trying to play final fantasy 2 on a super nintendo?

edit: i'm an idiot, totally forgot they numbered em different back then! oh well, it's too bad sarah didn't get a chance to play it, cuz 2/4 was one of my favs of all time

Ep was fun, if only to see Isaiah kickin ass

They really need Ellie acting all sexy more often, I am getting a bit bored with Sarah sometimes

You may call it different numbering, I call it the correct numbering.

Chuck was featured at a panel at C2E2 yesterday. Maureen Ryan hosted the panel discussion.

- Here's a 7:40 minute recap/preview video that they rolled (cam footage shot off the screen) *spoilers*

Fun stuff. Use spoiler tags if you'd like to discuss the preview portion of the vid.

EDIT: The new stuff starts at about 6:30 in the vid.

Wow, lots of new footage.

I agree with this 100%. It's nice to see chuck as the underdog that nobody really believes in instead of the kung-fu super spy he has become.

4 seasons is nice but I'm greedy, I want another season. :p

New episode tonight.
Chuck versus the Muuurder

WHEN A SPY IS MURDERED IN CASTLE, IT’S UP TO CHUCK TO FIGURE OUT “WHO DONE IT” — ROBIN GIVENS GUEST STARS — Chuck (Zachary Levi) is put in charge of a top-priority mission, but his leadership skills are pushed to the limit when there is a murder in Castle. Meanwhile, Awesome (Ryan McPartlin) takes on a mission of his own when Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) finds an alarming new hobby. Elsewhere, Morgan’s (Joshua Gomez) leadership is also tested when his Buy More troops wage war against Large Mart. Yvonne Strahovski, Scott Krinsky, Vik Sahay, Mark Christopher Lawrence and Bonita Friedericy also star.

- Maureen Ryan's take on the C2E2 panel *spoilers, but they're labeled*

A couple of the non-spoiler points:
• The original idea with Captain Awesome was that he'd be revealed to be a Russian spy or some kind of operative, but the producers enjoyed Ryan McPartlin's performance so much that they dropped that idea a few episodes into season 1. "It's a good thing, because I can't do a Russian accent to save my life," McPartlin said.

• Asked if he felt positive about the show getting a fifth season, Fedak acknowledged there's "always a bit of uncertainty" but added that "we're really hopeful and really excited" about what the finale sets up for a potential fifth season.
