- Ha ha: Zachary Levi and Joshua Gomez geek out to Mark Hamill on set. (very short video)

Meh. Given the source on that and the plausibility of the rumor, I'm skeptical that they'd even entertain extending the season. I'm not going to worry about it for now.
I don't care how many it takes; 7, 13, 17. So long as it's not dropped on the writers after they've already written the show a[nother] ending. Just let it go NBC. Let it go.

Video was awesome though. That's the kind of thing that needs to be a DVD extra.

Fedak's comments at Comic-con indicated that the ending will be a "they will have more adventures" type ending so I guess they could roll that into another fake series finale...but yeah, I hope they don't get an extra episode order.

My ideal ending for the show would be that things get so dark and shitty (perhaps Casey dies) that Chuck, Sarah, everyone quits the spy world forever. S1&2 was about Chuck trying to get out of that world; the pathos that accompanied that still resonates strongly even after S3&4 had Chuck embracing it. The latter never worked as well as the former. I mean, as early as S1E11 you have Sarah entertaining the idea of living a normal life.
We've seen how much the spy world has ruined the Bartowski family. Eventually Chuck & Sarah should say enough and GTFO. There will always be another bad guy to fight.

But then how would they come back with a movie?

- Justin Hartley and Jeff Fahey to guest star in S5:
'Chuck' Season 5: 'Smallville's' Justin Hartley and 'Lost's' Jeff Fahey to guest star as brothers

"Chuck" has always been a magnet for guest stars with serious geek cred, and its fifth and final season is certainly no exception. "Smallville" actor Justin Hartley tweeted on Tuesday that he's having a great time on set, and Zap2it has confirmed that he will be guest starring in the second episode of the season alongside Jeff Fahey, who starred on "Lost" as pilot Frank Lapidus.

Fahey plays Karl Sneijder,
who, as the boss of a diamond company with mines in South Africa, has been investigated by the CIA in the past for alleged criminal activity. They've never been able to pin anything on him.

Hartley will star as Wesley Sneijder,
Karl's handsome younger brother. A Dartmouth and Oxford-educated anthropologist, Wesley has always done his best to stay out of his brother's business, wanting nothing to do with the "world of espionage and spies."

Of course... he isn't given much choice when Karl's enemies kidnap him. Karl will be forced to seek out Carmichael Industries for help.

Lol, they get props for Hartley's character name. :p

Wesley Sneijder? Huh, so this season will be about a dude, who may or may not move to Manchester, sounds interesting.

In Chuck writers room news, S1-3 writer Ali Adler has found work post-No Ordinary Family.

Per twitter, she's now writing for Glee....which can't help but be improved by the development.

Also, did anyone else see the Killer Elite (Strahovski's new movie) trailer before Cowboys & Aliens?

God, what a stupid message...

Adopting animals is fine, of course.

But universally condemning the purchase of animals? Really?
A slap in the face for all the responsible, loving and passionate breeders out there who don't do it for profit.

Well, it's Peta after all...

American series don't care for soccer. That said, a simple google search would have revealed that he's pretty big.

So...you guys think Deckert will return? I do hope so. I also hope his "Chuck is just a pawn, everything is according to plan" conspiracy will be explored this season. I'd luck that story for a final season.

- IGN on Chuck: What to Expect from the Final Season
This October marks the beginning of the end for Chuck, as Season 5 begins for the series. After many years of uncertainty about whether the show would continue or not, this time out, the Chuck team goes in knowing that they are in the process of making the final thirteen episodes of the series and that they can head towards a proper conclusion for the story of Chuck Bartowski.

I recently spoke to Chuck co-creator and executive producer Chris Fedak about the final season of the show and what fans should expect.
*some spoilers*

I imagine part of their point is that thousands of animals are put down every day because we have TOO MANY of them already.

I hope they order more episodes.

I hope they order so many episodes that we're sitting here 20 years later talking about how modern Chuck isn't nearly as good as good ol' season 5 was in 2011.

I hope to wash it down with all your bitter tears.

In 20 years no one will remember this show.

They will remember, much like people still remember Greatest American Hero. It will be a novelty of the time, but not considered a classic like things like Cheers and Cosby Show are.

I'd rather nobody remember this show than remember it like LOST, a great start with a last season that basically ruined the entire series.

Is there an official Poster for season 5 available? I need one to prepare the Album cover for Chuck vs. the Music Season 5.

- Maureen Ryan: 'Community' Star To Stop by 'Chuck'
We can exclusively reveal that Danny Pudi, 'Community's' Abed, will have a cameo role in the fifth episode of the upcoming season of 'Chuck.' The details of his role are still under wraps, but really, what more do you need to know? Pudi is a very funny man and 'Chuck' will no doubt pull out all the stops to make sure his time in the spy world will be, in a word, awesome.
More via the link.

Currently rewatching the episode where chuck and Sarah get sprayed with HI-C Thinking it is poison and have to shower it off. Pretty excited about it.

Here's a bit of S5 promo art that you can use.

I hope season 5 is as cool as that promo art. I still don't like the fact that Morgan is now the intersect. I mean season 3's finale stressed that chuck was "special" even from an early age and now we find out that he's not so special seeing as Morgan is now the intersect.

Your hope is misplaced, I think. S5 will be exactly the same as the other two gimped budget seasons.

Morgan has always been funny on the show, maybe with him being the intersect they've found a way to bring back S2 levels of fun.

I don't suppose Comcast has upped the budget any as a final goodwill gesture to send it off?

I don't think there's much (if any) chance of that happening. I imagine the budget will be the same as last season, at best.

Can you really point out anything in S2 where you can say "Oh man, that was so awesome, they've really put their budget to good use."? I don't really recall anything in S2 where i could say that it was the money that made it superior to the previous 2 seasons. I guess the licensed music was a bit better, but otherwise S2 being the best season seemed to have little to do with the extra money available to Chuck.

Maybe not but when you rephrase your question to, Can you really point out anything in S3-S4 where you can say "Oh man, that was rough, they've really been limited by their budget."?
You can definitely say yes lol.

The wedding montage set to "Mr Roboto". It's not "wow, that's top notch and they spent a ton of money!", but they used seemingly real locations, the stunts look good, and they blew a bunch of stuff up. It looked a lot better than recent effects scenes. Check out the sets/location they used for The Dream Job (Roark's company headquarters) and the stunts in The First Kill (the fight inside the training center), too.

Every single episode, for starters. S1 and S2 had a TON more location shooting, bigger and better sets, better effects and better/more iconic/well known licensed music. Not to mention that the action sequences were mostly competently staged.

S3 and S4 have barely any location shooting, pretty much every set is the Bartowski house or Castle re-dressed (and not done especially well given hpow obvious it is - the Bartowski house was a prison in Bolivia or somewhere last year, lolz), terrible greenscreen effects and less good music. And the action? Lolz.

Its obvious in every single facet of production. The show was never hugely budgeted, but at least S1 and S2 don't look and feel cheap.
