College Football 2015 Week Nine Thread: Clemson, Clemsoned

Obviously I don't follow FSU news that closely, but is Cook pretty injured? That's the only thing I can think of that would keep them from playing him much that game. But then they started using him in the last drive at a time where it made no sense. I dunno, it was a weird game. I'd also put blame on Jimbo/coaching staff. It wasn't the best playcalling

That defense wasn't necessarily all time great performance wise, but NFL talent wise it might be up there.

That should actually worry Georgia fans.

Someone just did the comparison for the offense as well. Rashad and Karlos are injured so they're not exactly starting at the moment, but pretty cool nonetheless. Still a bit of a shock to me that NOL didn't get picked up after the Bills cut him. Wonder if he'll ever do anything in the NFL.

Edit: I guess he's on their practice squad.

Kill's retirement presser was tough to watch, he was pretty emotional. Said he didn't want to steal from the University, meaning if he wasn't 100% he didn't want to be paid to be coaching, noted he felt foggy at times (I think when he took his epilepsy meds). Seems it is either take the meds but not be able to think straight, or deal with seizures (and sounds like he just recently had some before his last "give it one more shot" practice yesterday. Also beat cancer years ago. Tough go for a very likeable guy.

I don't want Flood to be fired this year, because it's insane the number of jobs that opened up.

USC/USC/Miami/Minnesota/Illinois/Maryland/UCF and it's just barely halfway through the football year.

Flood won't ever be fired.

He's the best coach that we will get, and it's time for you to get on the wagon or go root for another team!

Tired of fake Rutgers fans like yourself!

Let's fight at the stadium! I'm going to defend Flood's honor through fisticuffs.

I got grudge sucked!
Who, other than Brees, became a big time QB at Purdue?

EDIT: Is Duke the lone ACC team that hasn't beaten FSU in football? Too bad we don't play them this year.

Those Nolie cowards! Hopefully Duke will have a good team next year and hand FSU a critical loss.

Also, I hope Duke takes care of Miami and hands them their 4 loss of the season :)

What worries me more was how shitty our secondary recruiting was the past few years.. Playing 3 true freshmen back there.

Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins (both OLB's, though Floyd can play multiple positions) will be going pro on defense. The DL that are graduating, I don't see them being drafted, maybe FA's. Couple OL will get drafted.

Defense as a whole is really young, I could see a bunch of them being drafted eventually, but it'll be a couple years.

To be fair, some of our secondary transferred away after being embarrassed on that Auburn miracle play they fucked up.

Actually, both of them did. Josh Harvey-Clemons followed Grantham to Louisville. I think that kid was incredibly talented and was a big loss.

Tray Matthews was also involved and ended up at Auburn. Surprise! He was also the kid that tried to jump on Fournette and got tossed like a ragdoll.

Shaq Wiggins also transferred to Louisville after his style did not mesh well at all with Pruitt. Wiggins liked to make jokes and goof off at practice, and Pruitt was not amused.

The news about Jerry Kill was actually depressing to me. He is an excellent coach who gave his all with all his health problems and helped bring Minnesota back from the dead and brought them a lot of success over the years.

I hope he gets well.

WEEK NINE PICK 'EMS
NOTICE: THIS WEEK'S BONUS/TIE BREAKER IS TO PICK THE NUMBER OF PASSING TDs IN ALL PICK 'EM GAMES!

Remember, I'm representing the spread next to the team favored to win by the number of points in parentheses next to them. You decide if that team will win by more than that amount of points (i.e., they'll "cover" the spread) or whether you think they will either win by fewer than that amount of points or just outright lose (either of these would be a "no cover" scenario). If you have questions, ask!

Rules:

1. 1 Point for every COVER/NO COVER pick you make correctly.
2. The Person with the highest total that weeks gets 3 bonus points.
3. Ties to determine who gets the bonus points will be based upon predicting the total number of passing TDs in all of this week's Pick 'Em Games (I'll call this the BONUS pick). For those who are tied, we'll look at this pick. Closest gets the bonus points.
4. If two people pick the same BONUS, then no one gets the bonus points. HOWEVER, if people are off from the BONUS by the same amount, but one went high and the other went low, then The Price is Right rules apply, and the person under the actual BONUS gets the bonus points.
Example: If the NUMBER OF PASSING TDs in all of the Pick 'Em games is actually 28, and one person guesses 20 and the other 36, then the person who guessed 20 gets the tiebreaker and the bonus points.
5. If anyone correctly guesses the exact BONUS, they will receive 2 bonus points.

Only idiots would bet against Rutgers here.

They are not only going to cover against Wisconsin, they are going to win by 20 points.

Count on it. Wisconsin isn't that good, and Rutgers is a great well coached team this year. Look at how Rutgers played Ohio State and beat Indiana this year!
