College Football 2015 Week Nine Thread: Clemson, Clemsoned

Lonestar

I joined for Erin Brockovich discussion
Hayden has stepped down from the playoff committee.

Did they ever fill Archies spot?

I mean, the committee is way more bullshit than the BCS at this point. People dropping out on the eve of the initial committee rankings for the 1st 2 years of existence. Weaksauce.

They should have kept the BCS formula but used the top 4 instead of top 2 for playoffs

The BCS system had some key flaws that the committee doesn't. For example, the BCS might have been able to pick the best teams, but the playoff committee can pick the ""best"" teams. That is, the teams that are going to fill seats and make money
and not be teams from the same division
.

Not entirely, no. But I will say that Richt is dangerously close to "IDGAF" levels and that fills me with tons of unease.

I really think he may be at that point. Which has me rubbing my hands with glee to see what he comes up with. I wouldn't be shocked to see all the trick plays, fake punts, onside kicks, going for it on 4th down on our side of the field, etc. What's frustrating is that when he does those things, they tend to work. Why not do them more often? I guess maybe they work because the other team isn't expecting it, and if you did it every game they'd expect it, but still.

Does Florida Georgia Line perform at halftime for the cocktail party?

Hahaha hell no. There are some concerts in Jax during this time though, and a whole lot of drinking on the bridge. And Jekyll Island, and St Simons, and Amelia Island..

Yes, he's basically going to do everything. McElwain didn't realize Les Miles ALWAYS runs a fake when he's tied or down, so I'm not sure he realizes that Richt not giving a fuck is the scariest thing in the world.

Well the good thing about this news about Bauta being the starter didn't leak until Thursday night, after the last practice. Each team will have a walk through today, but that's it. There's no time to do additional gameplanning and installs. If this was going to leak, this was the time to do it and cause some panic for Florida's coaches. I heard some people saying that Florida was likely prepared for all 3 of UGA's QB's.. You don't do that in college where you have 20 hours of practice a week. You prepare for the main guy and you may watch the second string guy some, but I doubt they spent a lot of time watching tape on anybody but Lambert.

And really, I don't expect completely different plays, but I do expect Bauta to be able to extend plays better and make some first downs on his feet. QB's at Georgia always have a non-contact jersey, Bauta specifically asks for a normal one because he wants to get the hits and work for it. He's also a Florida kid, so that's also interesting.

Looks like the supposed increase in police presence hasn't dampened turnout on frat beach.

Apparently ESPN wants to delay the launch of the ACC Network so they can try to avoid some issues they've had when they launched other similar networks.

There are some rumors that the network not launching by a specific date may invalid the grant of media rights that all the schools gave to keep the conference together previously, so if it is delayed we may see all the realignment talks heat up again pretty quick. Just a rumor at this point, though.

This might be interesting.

Hayden has stepped down from the playoff committee.

And nothing of value was lost.

Also.. I have never heard a single song from Florida-Georgia Line.

This is going to be a very interesting game, one way or the other. It always is, but I think we're going to see that side of Richt that rarely comes out.. When he feels he has nothing to lose and starts pulling Mad Hatter plays out of nowhere. Changing QB's is already a crazy enough thing. He's no stranger to trying new things in this game though.
Like charging the field after one touchdown? ;)

Goddamn, crazy story. Some straight-up porn shit.

The woman questioned him about the "nature, frequency and quality of sexual activities," he had with her daughter, according to the suit, "demeaning the plaintiff with racially-charged comments about his sexual prowess."

well... that's fucked. What kind of guy would pimp out his fuckin daughter and threaten the guys who banged his daughter. . . .and send this guy to get drugged up?!

This story is about a mother who pimped out her daughter.

Worst and least interesting week of college football ever that I can recall. One double ranked matchup, and half of that scenario is Temple.

Why did Utah St make their field upside down?

Renovation to the stadium moved the press boxes and the cameras to the other side of the field this year. Everything will look normal next year, but yeah it's kind of weird to see.

One year we'll figure out how to both play offense before halfway through the season and also not lose inexplicable conference road games. Until then though, I'll take the recent rash of 9-10 win seasons-it's MUCH better than the FBS doormat we used to be.
