Lol I love that body swap comic, even the writer preface about how crappy the gimmick is cracks me up.
I've never heard of these audio tapes.
That said, I was a huge fucking fan of the Archie TMNT comics. My collection was 99% complete at one point, then at some point I stupidly got rid of it all.
I'll be buying all these collections that IDW is doing, but I wish they were being done in bigger chunks. It's going to take absolutely forever to do the whole series at 4 issues in a trade. Hopefully they sell well enough to do it all. There's some very cool stuff down the line, crazy space opera and time travel tales, that great stretch where the Turtles travel the world, all the environmental stuff, etc.
The new TMNT run is good too, and of course the original Mirage one.
People actually like Comic Book Men. That's crazy.
Anything "can't miss' territory in comics-gaf's eyes?
I'm the kind of comic book person that likes the medium/stories/comics comics comics in general, not discussions over which superhero would win in a fight or watching people awkwardly try to sell their stuff to the store. The Comic Book Men show was not at ALL for me.
The history stuff is good. I'm pretty new to the hobby, so knowing some history from the show is a definite bonus.I've seen a lot of history related stuff brought up that was interesting. You have to realize they can't really talk about modern comics like a podcast can since the show is filmed months before it airs. The haggling part is definitely the worst part but everything else about the show feels believable given how they act on the podcasts. It would be cool if there was a show primarily for comic book fans but then it likely wouldn't have enough viewers to even air.
I need to drastically cut my pull list, yet i continue to buy 40-50 books a month and STILL have a dozen titles that are on the bubble, yet i'm wayyyyyyy behind on reading.

Cudley the Cowlick!Yeah I loved the Archie TMNT stuff as well. I remember all that stuff vividly. the intergalactic wrestling storyline was one of my favorites. I'm gonna get all the collections too
They're doing nice hardcover collections of the main Eastman and Laird original run (various filler issues by other people are being collected elsewhere). I've got the material from the first two volumes via the big softcover Mirage did shortly before TMNT was sold to Nickelodeon and the comics rights went to IDW. The 3rd volume just came out, so I've gotta pick that up too. It's good stuff, more on the dark and serious side than the Archie comics of course, but very good in its own right.I really want to read all of the old mirage stuff. the only stuff i've read from it was this, still own a copy of it

Oh and check out Saga too. Might be the best book out now.

I don't know that they've ever explicitly stated that Bruce is older than Clark, though, so it's up to interpretation. To me it only seems that way, because Bruce has a more mature presence, and because of the physical and mental toll the crime-fighting takes on his well-being. Clark is older but not by much (because he is, 1938 versus 1939), but acts younger when compared to Bruce.
And Ollie's the old man, I don't care what the New 52 says.
I've always thought Ollie and Bruce were around the same age.
I'm so glad X-Men Legacy is coming back without Rogue. I just read 271 and it was a pile of shit. I am really over Rogue at this point, and the bad writer doesn't help.
what? then how old is jason?
So he adopted them all within a few years?
Are any of the tie-ins surrounding issue 9 of Batman worthwhile? I have no idea how cynically I should view tie-ins.
Super-Dickery fans may appreciate this.

I took a trip to a local store that sells old comics and other random-ass stuff from the 60's-90's, was browsing through their old Superman comics and came across this and had to buy it.
Went a-googling, and am sad to report that no. The Hulk has never fought Godzilla.Has Hulk ever fought Godzilla?

Now I want the Hulk to fight Godzilla.
So godzilla had to slam with the best, or jam like the rest?
So DC's solicitations for November 2012 are rolling out today, and Batman artist Greg Capullo is a little angry that DC spoiled its reveal of the new Joker with its Bat-family covers.

He looks exactly like I feared he would, so after this and the overlong Court of Owls I think I'm done with Snyder's Batman.

So I just finished locke and Key Vol.5, but to my surprise it wasn't the last volume. Any info on when the last one will be released?
DC's solicitations for November 2012 are rolling out today via Newsarama, and apparently Batman artist Greg Capullo is a little miffed that DC inadvertently spoiled its reveal of the new Joker with its Bat-family covers. In particular, you can clearly see him on the cover of Batgirl withthe skin of his old face stretched, stapled, and or belted over his head like Leatherface, or some Clive Barker freakshow.

LOL I know, I know. But the whole "depraved murderous freakshow clown" caricature with Joker has long since run its course; instead of trying a different approach with the character, however, the folks in charge seem content with one-upsmanship games in seeing just how depraved and freakish they can make him out to be. The New 52 was a perfect opportunity to turn Joker in a different direction, and instead they appear to be running him off a cliff.Wrong for DC. Wrong for America.
