Man Without Fear is actually pretty delightful.

"God only knows what it looks like."

Maybe the best last line in comics, ever.

No, everything he did in the 80s was pretty good. But after his batman, everyone was like: "Gotta be darker!".
Even spiderman was depressing and gloomy. (tho it gave us Kraven's Last Hunt).

Sandman is what got me deep into comics, and I still think it's one of the greatest reading experiences I've ever had.
But also, Scud: The Disposable Assassin

why didn't marvel just release the Nu52 like Marvel did with its ultimate line? They had such a good continuity up to final crisis.

Well, I for one like that they are just swapping creative teams. The whole continuity reboot was cool but that's because DC was shit IMO before DCnU.

That's not what he said. He asked why the New DC isn't like the Ultimate Comics instead of being a complete reboot of the main continuity.

Yup. Totally didn't read that one accurately.

I read that during the New 52 reboot they had lists of specific events that had happened, and others that had not. For instance with Superman, he did die and come back so the Death of Superman story is still there, while other things didn't happen.

So I guess Cyclops isn't dead?

...nah, its a trick, he's gonna die

What if it's the Cyclops from All New X-men?

Scud is easily one of my favorite comics of all time. Cool art, cool writing, and just enough insanity to make it all work.

He is dead, from a certain point of view. I mean, the guy's hangin' out with two former X-men arch villains and also a girl who has spent a lot of time in Hell. I think. I've never paid any attention to Magik. At all.

But no way, he's gotta die. I mean, they're using the Phoenix, someone has to die.

Unless they kill Hope for a Very Special Issue.

I love the story Brubaker and Cooke tell about how they wanted to desexify the character with her new costume and literally the second someone else drew her, it was unzipped to like her bellybutton.

Doesn't she like bang Bats in like the first three issues of he on going?

Comic-Gaf. Give me your top run of all time. Ever. Only pick one.

Claremont X-men

no wait, Sandman

I mean..Peter David Supergirl

Priest Black Panther

Waid or Johns Flash

Strangers in Paradise

Milligan X-force/ X-statix

Giffen JLA

Bendis Daredevil or Alias

Incredible Herc

Peter David Hulk

Slott She- Hulk

...yea I can't pick, I'll keep changing my mind all day

Read the first volume of Fatale. So good. I hear people say its Lovecraftian, but I've never read any Lovecraft so instead it reminds me of a bit of Sandman with its twisted fantasy elements. Good stuff. Bru and Phillips never fail as a team.

Just ordered Prophet, Glory, Runaways vol 3 (I lost my vol 3 a while back I'm just completing my Runaways collection again), and Saga on Amazon which had a 4 for 3 promotion on all those.

That's why it's a good costume, it's versatile. I like both ways. The zipped up suit is a good worksuit for theiving, whereas the unzipped look just looks good. I liked the interpretation in Arkham City, it was almost Bayonetta levels of hilariously sexy. And Guillem March draws the hell out of that costume.

Not really liking the Manara Uncanny Avengers #2 variant, mainly the face.[/QUOTE]

Shame on you, Milo Manara is amazing. You should read his totally not-sexual X-Women one-shot, written by the one and only Chris Claremont.

i actually have that issue and like it, just not a big fan of the scarlet witch cover. I think X-women was the first manara thing i've ever bought.

I forgot that this Wednesday was a fifth week Wednesday :/

Guess that means another week for AvX 11. Have they released a preview of the book yet?

I read the first 7 issues of Aquaman after it was recommended here. Seems decent so far. I will probably at least finish the arc I am on and go from there. Ivan Reis art is always easy on the eyes.

if hope dies for scotts sins, ill be very ok with that

So, the creative pairings for Marvel NOW! Point One have been announced. Some are more obvious than others, of course.

The two obvious ones:

Brian Michael Bendis & Steve McNiven - Star-Lord/Guardians of the Galaxy
Matt Fraction & Mike Allred - Ant-Man/FF

The less obvious:

Jeph Loeb & Ed McGuinness - either Cable or Nova
Kieron Gillen & Jamie McKelvie - One would expect Wiccan, Loki, & Miss America (Young Avengers?), but there are conflicting rumors
Nick Spencer & Luke Ross - Young Avengers? Cable? Nova? Nick Fury, Jr. framing sequence?
Dennis Hopeless & Gabriel Hernandez Walta - Young Avengers? Cable? Nova? Nick Fury, Jr. framing sequence?

Read the latest Catwoman and Wonder Woman issues. Catwoman was especially "meh", Expected more out of that story arc and was kind of let down. Wonder Woman at least took an interesting turn with that cliffhanger!

I finally decided to listen to the almighty T.T.O.B. and picked up Orchid a few weeks ago, and man oh man that's some good stuff. I need to learn to listen to you guys more often lol.

Another special one I've caught up with is Fatale which I've instantly fallen in love with. I love the darker tones of the book and how it basically started off with a bang. Plus, I love noir themed books.

let's take a wild guess based on the rumors of Secret Avengers going to Nick Spencer after Remender leaves, with Nick Fury Jr as the leader?
