So I was reorganizing some images on my computer today and found this Elektra drawing by Miller and Sienkiewicz that I saved a while back. If you're familiar with the two artistically you'll notice that Miller's signature is not his block lettered "FM," which (probably) dates the drawing in the early 80s while Sienkiewicz is (probably) in an Elektra or post-Elektra moment.

This is the original -- which, yeah, seems like from when he was working on Daredevil or is at least in that style. It turns out that this dude commissioned a buncha of artists to ink it a few years ago.

Pretty cool imo given what we talked about yesterday

Did Tradd Moore draw that scene? Looks very much like his art.
Yup. Its Tradd Moore. Good fucking artist. Very kinetic artwork without turning to cheap speed lines. His linework just carries movement very well.

Fucks yeah.

Everybody posts those scenes from issue 2, but let's be real here, Zero #9 will shatter your fucking heart in some powerful ways [also, check out Zizek's face in that building]:
Tonci-7-650x514.jpg
Goddammit I didnt notice that before.

I think those scenes and what they mean later on carry such an emotional punch that it would be difficult not to bring them up frequently when talking to new readers about it.

I think my eyes in issue 9 got wider and wider until they couldnt get wide enough.

Probably my favorite current series coming out right now.

I liked how it had a different artist each issue, they were all great.

And Tom Muller brought it to another level with these cover designs.
Yeah the cover design is top fucking notch.

My enjoyment of Zero is increased by readings Ales Kot's interviews and tumblr. The guy seems to *get it* in that nebulous and changing way that ends with some great fucking comics. It must be awesome to draw one of his comics.

Frye, thanks for sharing that. Thats amazing. My favorite is the Sienkiewicz ones. Great stuff all around

i'm kinda glad i got that delivery job a few weeks ago now. i also paid for my Kevin Wada commish that was one of the few he wasn't able to get to. also caught some panels and such for some not-great lookin movies (and Mad Max which looks dooooooooope). Babs Tarr (who never had a short line at her table at any point), Jake Wyatt, Kris Anka, Kevin Wada, and Brenden Fletcher did a fashion in comics panel too, which i caught the tail end of but that was rly fun, wish i made it earlier. it was a super good time.
Nice! What'd you ask Wada to do?

I also see you picked up the Kordey Cables which are cool + weird even in an era of Marvel where a lot comics were cool + weird

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
And done with Civil War. First things first, I didn't like it (sorry Gameprof lol), it ranged from a boring ass event for the most part to a mediocre one near the end. The idea is actually interesting, but ultimately a foolish one. This is a world that gets invaded by gods or aliens or demons or interdimentional entities all the time and now you are worried about regulating heroes because some wackjob blew up a town...OK. I actually think it can work better in the MCU since things haven't gotten THAT crazy yet with the constant otherworldly threats, it's still grounded jn reality for the most part where this kind of registration would make sense.

The big story beats also didn't work in my opinion, or at least fell flat. Spidey coming out is the most interesting one and it actually has me interested in reading more Spidey from this era, but the war itself was just boring with nothing really happening. Goliath died and I went "who?". Cap dies and I go "ok see you in 6 months Steve". Maybe I'm just old and jaded but comic book deaths are completely meaningless until they make one stick, at least for many years (like Jean and even there they have found many ways to have her around in one for or another).

So in the end Tony is a gigantic prick and wins (lol), Reed continues to be a dick but I knew that already, Cap is shat on and I don't see how he could ever work with Tony again. For such a historic event it sure feels like a whole lot of nothing and unlike other events, as far as I know most of the stuff has been retconned so it sure isn't even matter in the long run. Oh and before people say "I told you so mweh!", I'm sure isn't till glad I read it just like I'll be glad when I read Age of Ultron or house of M (wait that one is supposed to be good lol), I want to read these big things I missed in my years and way, good or bad.

Now, for the reason I like to read every tie in, discovering new books! Let's have a quick glance:

Spider-Man - Cool costume aside the actual CW stuff didn't do much for me, but the stuff with kingpin putting a hit on parker and his family did and I actually added the next issue to my list when may is shot and Peter goes back to the black costume.

Fantastic Four - pointless and a waste of time

She Hulk - pointless and a waste of time. Also didn't make me want to read this run which is sad because I love she hulk

Wolverine - this one was good with wolverine going after nitro, getting mixed up with atlanteans and ultimately discovering that the whole thing is about money. Great Humberto Ramos art too, I know you guys hate him

Frontline - one of my favorite things about the event (even if the MySpace shit in the last issue was cringe worthy), both the reporters story and speedball in prison and eventual change to Penance was great.

Thunderbolts - the actual CW issues weren't very good but it all leads to Ellis's run which I'm super excited to read

X-Factor - a couple of pointless issues that actually blemish the amazing run that book was having. It needs to stay away from events

New Avengers - boring stuff except it made me want to read more about the sentry so there's that

X-Men - they barely get involved and in the specials they do its shit. Awful. And Bishop is horrible around this time, and i used to live bishop :/

Cable & Deadpool - cool stuff that makes me want to read that run, even if it sounds like they retconned Cable's powers like there was no tomorrow

Young Avengers & Runaways - one of my favorite minis of the event, cool story, amazing faux-Joe mad art and it made me want to check out both teams books bad so a success

Ms.Marvel - like she hulk pointless and makes me not want to read this run and it love Carol. Also she's all "sir yes sir" to Tony which seems weird from what we know of her as Captain Marvel

Heroes for Hire - holy fan service Batman. This book is nothing but ass shots and chicks in tight outfits. awful writing and a pointless tie in makes this something I'll probably not continue, unless its for the fanservice I guess :p

Punisher War Journal - this on the other hand is fantastic and I'm dying to read more.

Captain America - I actually really liked these issues even if it's all just filler. Good stuff with Sharon, great writing, is this from the famous brubaker run you all keep suggesting?

Ironman - I usually dont care about Ironman and even less so here.

Black Panther - good stuff, Ororo actually fits in better than I thought she would, Panther is a badass as usual and i want to read more from this.

Mighty Avengers - ok start and I'm curious about where it goes especially with the Ultron cliffhanger

Fallen Son - even if I'm jaded with Cap's death I still enjoyed this mini about various heroes dealing with it. except the ironman one because fuck Tony

Avengers Initiative - loved this and I want to read more bad.

So there you go, as usual the best part of the whole thing was discovering new books. Will take another break from events for a while, and maybe tackle me some Daredevil (which I was loving up to issue 5) to get in the mood for the show :)

Hey guys, I don't really read comics, but I'm interested in the upcoming Fight Club 2 10-part graphic novel and since I doubt I'll find a way to buy them around where I live, what reliable online sites do you use? I'm in Portugal, so they need to ship from the EU. Thanks in advance :)
Amazon sells everything.

I'm honestly not 100% sure; just going off what I read in the first issue, haven't done the legwork on it. The basic premise would seem to be about dead timelines fighting each other, but it could end up being bigger.

You mean the Zero issue? The main character in that was the current in canon New 52 Superman and he will be involved in the series.

Its about every timeline and Multiverse fighting each other not just the dead ones.

We can share!

PS - We got a house! Life is funny.

Awesome man,, Looks nice. I just bought a house myself in September.

-

Bought BloodBorne,, fawk that game is hard.

-

Also I got my Batman Black & White Francis Manapul statue finally. buuttt,.. The cape is broken in half!.. man my luck has been horrible lately. Still working on getting it exchanged.

Okay, now I'm confused; the
sentient planet/Brainiac Prime storage unit thing was talking about correcting his master's mistakes, referring to the collection of cities, which are picked from dead timelines. I thought that those were what was going to be forced to fight, and the existing timelines would be involved in a more tangential help/aid sort of way.

That's the impression that I got. The solicits for the main series have the Earth 2 cast as the primary protagonists,
which at this point, one could argue are from a "dead timeline" as their world was destroyed. And Telos (the Sentient Planet) said he would decide which dead timelines would be allowed to exist.

Why is Spider-Man on the cover of this deadly class issue lol

Don't ask how I know this, but it's him taking a dig at the club drug scene. Tabs are usually stamped with pretty pictures and given a name like "Spider-man." Pretty sure that is a piss-take on a tab of acid.

Remender writing Spidey post-SW confirmed.

Read some Cloak & Dagger. Boy, the two are so gorgeous. Would love to see a nice Ongoing with those two.

Heh, I think it's too early to say Remender will be doing Amazing Spider-Man right now. Would be awesome though.
