Does anyone find it funny that Marvel is keeping the leotard look for anyone that assumes the role as Captain Marvel? You'd think they would wear something close to her current look.

Ann Nocenti's run on Catwoman is on sale on Comixology for anyone looking to finish out their collection. I already have them.

Read the first issue of Bombshells. It was great.

Goooood, goooood.

Reread Robin: Son of Batman. I... may have forgotten about the whole world-ending villains thing. Man, it was only a 3-issue diversion (Robin War, Bloodless Blade, wrapup in Gotham) but damn 3 months is a while, huh? Looking forward to the conclusion here.

It occurs to me that Damian, not having a solo book of his own post-Rebirth, could fit into Gotham Academy pretty nicely, and he was in this month's Yearbook issue.

Just saying.

"I know, LET'S HAVE SEX RIGHT NOW."

"OK."

Oh this book entertains me. lol

What if Odinson, Kitty and Kamala are on the other side? Also Deadpool.

I see Luke Cage on Iron Man's side as well. That practically makes Kitty a lock for Iron Man's team, unless you think Bendis won't put all of his pets on the same side.

Kamala will be on the other side, because Captain Marvel, but while I like her there's just too many people I like on the other side. Peter Parker will probably be on Carol's side as well because RAWR I COULD'VE SAVED BEN WIT DIS KNOWLEDGE and to put Miles on the opposite side.

I'm not really bothered about the Odinson. Like, if he died (again), I'd be a bit sad but not that sad.

I could see Deadpool teaming up with Steve Rogers to fight The Real Villain Behind This in a mini-series while everyone else is fighting.

But who will Angela side with???? Or Magik or Natasha!

Widow too busy with her solo
Angela taking the L when her series gets canned, might join Team Bendis.
Magik will beef with Inhumans.

Angela is in Loki's new book, with some sweet shades.

But all those books are gonna get pulled into Civil War especially Widow.

I flicked through the issue in the store..and you know the page I landed on. lol

The whole time I was thinking "aren't there dudes watching you two bang right now?" It's like one half of the book wants to educate me on it's social commentary on women's role of that era and the other half wants me to chill and read it like it's something out of a porn movie.

Oh, I forgot to tell you guys. I bought the rest of the Morrison Batman run I was needing (Batman & Robin vol 1-3 in OHC, Batman Inc OHC, and Batman Inc N52 vol 1-2 tpb) from a guy on a Facebook group I'm on for $35 which I thought was a very nice deal. Well, I got it in today, and he randomly threw these in too!

Like, who does such a cool thing? I never even said anything to him about how much I was looking forward to reading this when it came to trade format. He threw a couple of older trades of some random stuff, too. Such an awesome thing to do. And now I get to read these before they release in trade!

Also, single issues feel so weird. They're so light.

The Kate section in that made me smile ear to ear. Bought the trade yesterday so ill finally get to read more. Didn't want to read it digitally so the wait has been difficult.

I'm not very attached to Kate since I haven't read Batwoman yet (I will at some point soon), but I enjoyed it, too. Nice colorful art and fun characterizations also.

Green Goblin says Moonstone was the best Ms.Marvel when he's near Carol in Marvel Heroes

He's not wrong

He also thinks Deadpool is some sort of ninja Spider-Man

Edit: oh and when he's near Moon Knight he says he's not real, he's just another one of his personalities lol

Apparently Morrison's New X-Men is getting an omnibus reprinting.

Allow me to add to this chain: don't make the mistake I did and buy the plain trade releases of New X-Men, because holy crap they are of poor quality. I'm thankful that this reprint is coming up, as for the first time ever I'm going to need to upgrade to a higher quality edition because these things are literally falling apart. Bleh.

Awesome, so nothing else worth looking out for then?

As far as the mainline/flagship X-Men comics post-2000, people only generally recommend Morrison New X-Men and Whedon/Cassaday for good reason: most of the other runs, even by good writers, are honestly pretty dang bad. The Kieron Gillen run has its moments but it's harder to unequivocally go to bat for because literally half of it is tie-ins to dumb events no one cares about.

There's good spinoff/side-books though, like Rick Remender Uncanny X-Force, Zeb Wells New Mutants, Milligan/Allred X-Force/X-Statix, the teen-focused New X-Men is pretty good too...

I wish Nightwing was getting omnibus'd but it's nice they're releasing the Dixon stuff in trade. I need to get those since I've never read them.

Also, on the subject of Nightwing, I kind of hope this "Rebirth" brings Nightwing back, as fun as Grayson is.

Will we ever get a reprint of the "thor omnibus by Walter"

Just going to have to wait and see, some of these recent reprints coincided with Marvel TV or film like Alias did with Jessica Jones and the Frank Miller Daredevil/Elektra Omnibuses are releasing with the upcoming 2nd season of Daredevil.

There could be a good chance some Thor collections come out with the next film.

Grayson had good characterization and dialogue for Dick but I was not interested in Spyral or any of the supporting characters.

That issue where Dick returns to Gotham is my favorite Grayson issue. He'll always be best as Nightwing for me.

Exact opposite for me. I dropped the series when he went back to Gotham.

Since we're discussing X-men runs: what was the (I presume alternate universe) run where it like had Storm as a kid and Kitty ends up with a claw from Wolverine, and also was it any good? I read like a trade or two of that that a friend picked up a good while back and never followed up on it.

Well there's Morrison's New X-Men, but its longer at 40+ issues. There's also the first 20 issues of Uncanny X-Force I can definitely recommend.

There's some deeper cuts I could throw out like X-Statix or BKV's Ultiamte X-Men, but the Whedon/Cassaday Astonishing X-Men run is a great primer. Its really accessible, between Whedon's peppy scripting and Cassaday/Martin's realistic artwork and wide-screen panels. Small team of X-men starring mostly well-known characters, mutants as social justice metaphors and superhero vs supervillians, all that good jazz.

If you do get Morrison's New X-Men run though, read that before Astonishing X-Men. Astonishing X-Men is kinda the sequel to that run.

Alright, thanks. I'll definitely have a look for Morrison's run.

On a side note, are there any Aussies out here that can recommend an instocktrades equivalent, or the best place to order trades in Australia? I still order from IST, but i have to get a few friends and do like a $200+ order to make the shipping + currency conversion worth it.

Never read any Wonder Woman, how's the George Perez stuff hold up? I see 1-25 is on sale on Comixology right now. Never read any Wondy solo stuff.
