I just want to thank Geoff Johns and everyone here who recommended his run on Aquaman to me. I love the character, supporting characters, and the underwater city of Atlantis. I love how Jeff Parker has stepped in and done some incredible stories and has not missed a beat. I also love Paul Pelletier's art. I love the visuals of a mostly underwater book.

In short, I love Aquaman.

Are you reading Low? The artwork in it is gorgeous, especially the underwatery stuff.

Out of the three new Gotham/Bat titles, which will survive and which will fail...?

Gotham by Midnight
Gotham Academy
Arkham Manor

I like that they're trying to do something unique with Gotham and Batman's world though.

I think Gotham Academy makes the pass, Arkham Manor is an easy fail, and Gotham by Midnight may be in the middle.

Yeah, Arkham Manor, I was really excited for a horror title, but the first issue really didn't grab at my passions very much.

I'll be picking up Gotham by Midnight later today, so hopefully that'll be good.

I just read all of that White Suits by Frank J. Barbiere and Toby Cypress, and it was pretty bland. Im gonna say i didnt like it actually.

Man I wonder what if anything CMX will do tomorrow for sales. I think they hinted at something last week. I had this crazy idea they dropped all 1.99 books to .99. Man the money id spend would be nuts

When did Ultimate Jessica Drew's costume change to be so...90s?

God damn The Delinquents turned out so phenomenal. Kano put on a world class clinic. So much crazy fun stuff. What a read.

Kano is one of those artists who I always silently go "whee" every time he shows up on a book. Like, he's not anybody's favorite artist, can't instantly pick his style out from a still image, he'll never be a big ongoing for the Big Two, but I always really enjoy his work whenever it pops up.

Oh my goodness. Just finished reading Sin City: Family Values. That was PERFECT. Just amazing. By far my favorite Sin City story. Everything that I felt That Yellow Bastard did wrong, Family Values did right. It had zero fluff, it was just relentlessly thrilling and perfectly concise. Miller's art was the most exciting it's been so far in any of the Sin City stories (and it had already been amazing) and the dialogue was even better than it had been before.
Just brilliant.

You can get 30% off any one book off Amazon with the coupon code HOLIDAY30

Awesooome. Pretty sure I'm going to order Strangers in Paradise. Thanks!
Just an FYI though, it looks like the 30% discount maxes out at $10 of savings. Still though, I think SiP will come out to $55 or something after tax, which is fantastic for 2200 pages.

Are you sure its 30%? Is there maybe a maximum amount that can be talent off? I tried it on a $78 omnibus and only got $10 off..

Edit: LOL look is like Kipp and I noticed the same thing.

Woo! Ordered Strangers in Paradise! $55 after tax. It was already cheaper on Amazon than IST, so that $10 discount just sealed the deal for me. Hopefully it doesn't get mangled in the shipment.

Edit: And finally ordered The Curse of Lono hardcover by Hunter S. Thompson with glorious Ralph Steadman art, too, which is slightly relevant to this thread as the book is half art half words. I've been waiting for an excuse to buy that hardcover for so long.

The scarlet spiders #1 preview has a better image where it looks more together.

Seems like they're going for a black widow vibe, but it really doesn't seem to fit. Also there is an arrow to her crotch.

Not only are they going for a black widow vibe, she straight out changed her name to Black Widow.

God bless all my old friends/And god bless me too, why pretend?
Anyone ever use barns and nobles to ship to Canada? I see they allow it and the shipping isn't TOO bad. The sale is calling me but I don't want them to mess me over

i can't think of three things i want from BN .

here were some ideas:
Animal Man Omnibus - i have the three tpb of Morrison that i haven't read yet
Batman Unwrapped Capullo - art book
Daredevil vol 3 OHC Waid - read his run already, might want to sell my first two volumes than buy third
Infinity OHC - liked it, but not the art which is half the fun of an OHC, have it all digitally with codes
Thor OHC vol 1 - liked it but have it digitally and i wouldn't buy volume 2

I love OHCs but i'd rather get a couple trades from IST like Shutter vol 1 and Unwritten vol 10, maybe Manhattan Projects OHC vol 1 since it's worth rebuying.

Also Batman #36 wasn't that good, the whole
"guess what, i'm the joker!" stuff does nothing if I don't know the character he was pretending to be in the first place.
I need to get out of DC. Maybe just Multiversity and wait for the next worthwhile thing. Still have to read the Harley hc.....

Anyone ever read "Blankets" by Craig Thompson? I'm curious how good it is, I've heard a lot of things about it.

I just got it for 25 fucking cents at a thrift store a couple weeks ago.
