also, I seriously want to tally a list of how many times Brubaker has a character say "Damnit...", including the ellipsis. It has to be in the hundreds. Criminal, Captain America, Sleeper, Gotham Noir, Gotham Central, Daredevil, Immortal Iron Fist, The Fade Out, Batman, Catwoman, Fatale...I can cite examples.

Deathstroke 2 was entertaining. Tony Daniel is doing a serviceable job so far. Introduced some cool characters this issue.
Lady Shiva, Bronze Tiger, and Jericho!

I've read all those and never caught this trend. It amuses me though. I'll keep an eye for it in the future.

that's the most realistic thing ever. Like in movies when the person gives the "WHAT THE FUCK" face.

Man I'll never get tired re-read this issue of Stray Bullet
(Issue #2)

Such a awesome issue.. got sidetracked from reading the book after 2-parter with lesbian couple that I didn't like though.

Whats with all these new comics that make no sense like Ody-c and Supreme blue rose. It's like everyone has become a wannabe grant morrison.

Disappointed with the ending of New Warriors. I really wish the series got more time or something. Yost really nailed the team and their interactions with one another but the rest was kind of a let down.

Hope we get to see more Kaine and Aracely in the future written by Yost at least.

Warren Ellis has been writing as long as Morrison has.

Fraction has been doing out there stuff since the very beginning of his career. I can almost guarantee you they're not aping Morrison.

maybe we'll get a one-shot when the next Spider-Event happens

assuming they live through Spiderverse

I haven't read Ody-C yet, but is it really that out there? Everything I've read of Fraction's has been easy to follow.

Guys... Kaine will forever live on. Don't do this to me. I lost two series today don't make it worse :'(

Slott won't be able to resist the temptation to blow up the internet for the billionth time. At this point, I'm at least expecting the deaths of Kaine and Mayday, especially since that upcoming Spider-Gwen ongoing means he can't kill her instead.

Anyone want a slice of my pizza cake?
I also had the displeasure of reading Scarlet Spiders. I did not like the focus on just one character at all considering that the book is called Scarlet Spiders. I'll keep reading it, but I hope I won't waste my time. Spider-Man 2099 on the other hand was the bees knees.

Started re-reading Alias. Someone must have gone all Identity Crisis on Bendis sometime after 2005. I have no other explanation for Alias Bendis vs GOTG Bendis.

Went to the cinema last night so didn't get a chance to read comics. Looking forward to settling down and saying goodbye to Superior Foes later tonight.

Are you serious? They are doing more Eternal?

Yeah, Snyder and someone from editorial have both said they intend to continue the Batman weekly after the first year. Nothing else is known.

I'm so excited to read Alias! I'm going to start it after I finish Preacher, and I'm just about finished with the 4th TPB (of 6) of Preacher, so I'm almost there. Though the Preacher read is taking me longer than expected because I'm now reading Sin City and Hellblazer in pretty much equal amounts to Preacher. Regardless, the Alias read should start soon-ish and I'm very excited.

Batman Eternal was fantastic. It's like we know the basic fallout from Eternal but the main mystery behind the book is still very much entertaining.

Question. I see the first trade is up on IST (issues 1-21). Does it spoil anything major from Snyder's Batman or Tomasi's Batman and Robin, besides
Damian's death
?

At least Pax had straightforward premise.. I'm not even sure what genre/tone in Klarion. Its strangely compelling read tho.
McCarthy is drawing the fuck outta this book though. I think the book is some sort of commentary on technology, our lives and human interaction. Issue two had the line about Klarion having no digital footprint and not being apart of this world.

lol, B&N pulled FF Hickman omnibus 2 from their website. I know it was available today morning. I didn't pull the trigger because I couldn't find a third omnibus I really wanted.

Reading comprehension is tough. Fraction presents a timeline at the beginning and tell you exactly what's going on. The story begins with characters from the timeline, and the aftermath of the last battle. It's "challenging" in a sense that it's presented like historical text, but the story is fine. You have to take your time reading it but I understood it fine
and I generally don't understand anything.

Yeah the art is gorgeous, and the chick Klarion playing around is super hot =p

The writing/dialogue is super weird.. but yeah strangely interesting.

Just started volume 2 of Hellblazer. This is BRILLIANT. Seriously, Jamie Delano's Hellblazer is so good. I know almost everyone already knows about Hellblazer, but I don't think people realize how good it is. There's a reason this series went on to 300 issues, and it's because Delano really got the ball rolling.

Specifically regarding volume 2 though, Delano has really turned it up to 11 with the writing. It's just so compelling and well done. And the art is really great as well. The art through the first volume was good, but still pretty dated, but the art in volume 2 is really, really solid. And it has to be said that the printing quality is significantly better in volume 2. The printing quality in volume 1 really wasn't great.

More people really need to read Hellblazer.

Buy another copy of Doom Patrol for a friend, obviously. :p

Didn't want to confuse it with the Incredibly Bad Spider Woman book already on the market. Plus everybody knows her name that way

Is Spider-Woman terrible then? I have to say, I've read very little of the character outside of Secret Avengers and I like her in that, so I thought I might eventually check out her solo title if it was decent. Hopeless was writing and I really enjoyed Avengers Arena, but then I heard Land was on the book, so I avoided it. Did I do the right thing?

Oh geez... So the Black Friday 30% off coupon does indeed stack with the B2G1, and not only does it stack, but it takes 30% off from the most expensive item. I've got a hypothetical cart of the Invisibles omnibus, the Miller Daredevil omnibus, and Absolute Batman and Robin for $150 shipped.
Is buying omnibuses from B&N a terrible idea that I'll regret? Do they ship omnibuses as terribly as they do everything else?

I read it right after Pax Americana, I came straight back to earth, fell through the crust and landed in Hell. It was like watching Armageddon after you just saw Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Gotham by Midnight was pretty cool! Hope it delivers on its promise, being a supernatural Gotham Central.

Gotta read ODY-C, not afraid of not understanding shit because it's the goddamn Odysseus but I'll see. Gorgeous book though.

Whats the word of our ComicGAF Figure experts? ;) Is the Captain America Infinity figure worth buying? I dont want to play with it, just to display it next to my Captain America related Comics.

Yes, definitely. Knee joints are a bit rubbery but other than that it's a great figure.
