Any chance of more pictures of the slipcase/book. Super hyped to get mine.

Sure! I can't right now, but I'll be able to either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Ordered seconds, Manhattan Projects HC (my first double dip) Hellblazer and some manga.
Thing I like about Saga is no dust jacket. The Sixth Gun pulled this off beautiful.

Awesome. I'm glad someone else is going to be reading Hellblazer too. Which Hellblazer TPB(s) did you order?

Don't forget- we'll be adding new items to the online store soon! We plan to have everything ready for Cyber Monday, but if we get done sooner it'll go active before then. Right now we've already got 35 items ready to go live, and we want to see if we can't get even more prepared before announcing the new merchandise! Right now we're looking at 25 different sizes & styles of t-shirts, 10 different styles of statues, one brand new, never before seen print, and hopefully we'll get some rare comics and trades up too.

Everything except the new print will be listed in very, very limited quantities. These are items from our back stock- things that we had samples of, or were sent comp. copies of, so we may have as few as one or two in any given item. With that in mind, if you want it, please don't hesitate to order it. We will NOT be re-stocking on any items - except the new, mystery print.

I'll post once the store goes live with the new, cool stuff! Hope everyone is having a great weekend;

Allison

From Adam Hughes' Facebook. Wonder what statues will show up...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5'' is great for comics, it's incredibly light and the screen is gorgeous ( AMOLED). Only downside i had was production quality especially the all plastic casing. For that reason i ended up returning my weirdo tab s and got an ipad air 2....so far my complaints are a pinkish tint to the screen and it gets warm on the right side.

I went to Best Buy and checked out some tablets. I know what you mean about the production quality of the Tab S. It felt really cheap and if I put some pressure on the corners I could hear it pop. The screen looked fantastic and it seemed to be just about the right size. There is also the Tab Pro which has a 12" display. Not sure if I want a tablet that big. I prefer Android so I'm not even really looking at the iPads.

Ordered Strangers in Paradise from Amazon. I've wanted to read it, but it was a bit too pricey at IST for me to justify.
Yes!!! More to join the SiP reading brigade. I didn't want to mention this before but fans of Harley might enjoy one of the characters in the book. They have sort of similar personalities (minus the whole homiciadal/crime stuff). But I won't say who

Decided to finally dig into some of the comics I bought in my Black Friday buying spree.

I started with issues 1-8 of Alex + Ada. This is a very enjoyable series. I haven't read much from the luna crew. Just Ultra (which I did enjoy) and though this series covers similar ground to other stories, with the movie Her being the most recent, I think it's got enough on its own to not feel like a retread. Each issue flys by quickly and they're damn good at having a great hook at the end of each issue that makes you want to read the next issue right away. I'll be continuing for sure but I fear reading this monthly could be a bit frustrating.

Edit: SMT? Very nice! That's a very good series. I look forward to hearing your impressions

Isn't Alex + Ada a planned 15 issue series?

I hear it's really good. I'll probably throw it into my next order.

I haven't followed up on Thor - Who is the new Thor?

We don't know. I also assume we won't find out for quite some time. They seem intent on keeping it a secret. The most recent issue was really fun though. I can't wait for the next one.

Rad. I need to pick it back up. Love Jason Aaron's stuff and dug the first 20 or so issues of Thor but then I moved and lost track. Time to catch up!

Thanks again everyone for the advice on the Image comics. I ended up getting both Deadly Class, Black Magic, and East of West along with the other comics I listed.

One of the other things I picked up (even though it wasn't on sale) was the remaining Snyder Batman comics (I had only read up until the start of Zero Year). I noticed some of the comics (especially the newer Endgame issues) make note of when they take place compared to Batman Eternity. Are the Eternity issues something good enough to actually purchase and catch up on or is it not worth the money?

Woo! Awesome! We should totally book club Strangers in Paradise and all read it at the same time. I'm so looking forward to it.

Third. Recently purchased the first two.

Ah, very nice. Have you read the first two yet?

Someone sell me on this Strangers in Paradise thing. I like Harley!

Well, it's a super well written slice of life story that involves girly hijinks. Plus me and Freeza and Messi are going to be reading it, so basically if you don't get it, you'll feel insanely left out.

Yay, USPS delivered 2 days early.

What is Sandman Mystery Theatre all about? I've heard of the title but I just realized I know nothing about it.

Hmm, that is very tempting. I unfortunately have enough to read right now so I'll have to sit out on a read-a-long. I still need to read through Animal Man and I'm working on Casanova too.

It's definitely something I'll consider if you guys post positive impressions!

It's a vertigo series about the golden age sandman character. It follows dodds and his girlfriend going off and confronting a bunch of various killers and bad guys in a very noir setting with the time period in the 40s. Though it's based on the golden age character, and he has his nightmares, gas mask, spray, etc it's not a super hero book.

A cool read though. It's name was always confusing to me when it was coming out because Gaimans Sandman series from the same publisher was also releasing issues. Needless to say when I thought it was a sandman spin off book from that series I was very confused

Also once everyone is done with SiP your next assignment is to read Echo (also all collected in a nice omnibus). Moore venturing into sci fi

Ah, that sounds really cool! Thanks!

And sounds good. If I enjoy SiP as much as I anticipate I will, I'll definitely check out Echo.

Ben Dewey Medusa/Lockjaw

You guys need to get on that Medusa/Lockjaw piece. That shit is going to be worth millions once the world discovers that this is the man responsible for those Tiger boobs in Tooth & Claw #1.

its a comic book with multiple pages, there's a 90% chance sillymonkey321 wouldn't like it
He's the Derrick of comicGaf.

I just finished the Essex County collection. It had all volumes together. This was a very good read that had a lot of slice of life. It was very grounded, and had several powerful story beats. Lemieres ability to weave the characters, timelines, etc was really well done

I need a pick me up after that. Next up, Five Weapons!

what don't you like about it?

Half the time i read Morrison like Charlie Brown listens to teachers. It just doesn't flow in a way that interests me and EVERYTHING is some mystery that onlyyyyyyyyyyy someone else knows. I don't give a shit about your algorithm, stop saying it every damn page. I think it's a dull, pretentious, plodding read. Also, why does every character look like a potato?

It sucks that they never properly finished Mystery Theater. Such a cool book.

Oh shi Secret Six is finally releasing?

I'm still reeling from that latest Transformers issue, that's the scariest comic issue I've read in years.

Damn, trying to finally get through the Annihilation Omnibus. The overall story is great, but some of the Character Tie-Ins are boring like hell... Took weeks for me finally finish the four Ronan Issues. Hope the Main Series gets me hooked again.

Also, finished yesterday the Thor: God of Thunder OHC. It really wasnt as great as the beginning, but still great. King Thor is like the greatest badass ever, really liked him. And Young Thor was so unlikeable, that you have to like him.

Also, I really hope that Gorr returns at some point. He was a good Villain and while I read the story I thought that this would be a great movie.

Really looking forward the second half of his Male Thor Run.
