IST updated. Nothing really caught my eye this week, which I assumed would be the case. Volume 1 TPBs of Shutter and Wicked + Divine are noteworthy if you haven't read them yet.

A turd purchased at 30 euro cheaper than list price is still a turd.

It will be in the bargain bin by the time they fix it.

Assassins Shit.
I used to love the series, but 3 jumped the shark. Throw the money in the toilet, its a better way to spend it then giving Ubisoft still any money for the series

I felt this way at first too- I thought Revelations and 3 were horrible, but then Black Flag came out, and it got me invested back all over again. The real world plot is now the most compelling thing to me- it's like it's gone so far up its own ass with stupid that it's come back around to being the best thing.

The wild ride never ends.

Well, at least his face is back. That's a start, I guess.

Nocenti's Creed

"Where other writers blindly have things make sense, remember
Nothing makes sense.
Where other writers are limited by dialogue or motivation, remember
Everything is permitted.
We work in the dark, to serve the Didio. We are Nocenti.
Nothing makes sense. Everything is permitted."

Joker looking like Macklemore in that promo art. Not good.

Preacher 1-4 impressions in bullet points

  • This is the best work I've ever seen from Steve Dillon
  • The Saint of Killers is a really great concept for a character
  • The dialogue is fantastic, a lot of memorable quotes here
  • I feel like I barely scratched the surface on Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy
I'll read some more tonight

Oh boy, Jokers looks awful. I hope the artist after Capullo brings his old shaped face back...

Edit: Oh shit Buddy, now I see it, too

I have both ordered. Far Cry, Lego Batman and GTA too. Halo on the way as is Alien.

GAMES MOTHERFUCKERS

I got my COD today.

I bought Far Cry and Dragon Age, but I don't think I'm going to touch Far Cry for a looooooong time. Dragon Age, fuck yeah. I'm going to call in sick with Ebola.

I may have hit that point where I am in over my head with my floppies. What do I do with them? Where the fuck do I begin when it comes to selling them? I only want particular runs and variants...

This clutter has got to go.

Which runs are you thinking of selling? I kinda want to fill in some gaps of runs I started in the past few years.

As much as I love the series, I think my Inquisition is going to sit around sealed for a couple weeks until I finish up with classes. I can't let myself fall into the BioWare RPG wormhole in the middle of the last couple weeks of the semester.

Why does it matter? You're not reading it anyways nor are you going too, so it's a moot point.
:O

You're right! For a minute there I forgot that I play the part of Marvel-lovin', DC-hatin', sore-loserin' troll who keeps the good ones down and swore never ever EVER to buy a DC book again, after they stuck a dagger in my back with the New52, in this soap opera we call the Comics OT. Thanks for setting me straight, GH!

Incidentally,

shut uuuuuuuuuuuuuuup
About to start the Hickman Fantastic Four omnibus. Never read any FF series, but I heard it's pretty friendly to newcomers. Is there stuff I should look up?

I didn't mention Marvel at all bro.

Only the stuff you don't understand. I was new to most of this stuff too when it started, I got it all through context just fine.

Team Harley knows that you do this shit.

You can't hide from us.

Oh and Jimmy and Amanda just keep nailing the different costumes for Harley

Please, by all means rig the vote every month. I'll template the results in advance so it becomes one less thing.

Ah don't be like that. I am just joking around.

Oh and looking at that Joker image. I am now convinced it is Bruce. Its his haircut from Zero Year, I think. I assume it comes from the next issue so it would make sense if Batman is the cover after Superman.

but I am taking tiny steps forward

PunkRockPaperScissors was released this week! I'm so excited.
Also, if I was Zombine, I'd totally buy this.

Nice impressions. I was actually thinking the same thing regarding Dillon's art when I was reading Preacher today. It's kind of funny, because most artists' best work comes later when their style is fully developed. However, because Dillon's "style" is basically faces that all look identical, his work on Preacher (where his "style" wasn't fully developed yet) is some of his best stuff. With that said, I still love Dillon's more recent stuff as well. The similar faces thing doesn't really bother me at all.

But yeah, I read three or four issues of Preacher already today (plan to read more in a bit) and I don't really have anything specific to say except that I'm still absolutely loving it. Such good comics.

Just read Daredevil: Guardian Devil. Hmm. Not sure what to think of it. It's very, very late 90s isn't it?

I read Guardian Devil a few months back and I enjoyed it somewhat, but didn't think it was anything special at all. I thought it was incredibly derivative of Born Again. It was like Kevin Smith wanted to rewrite Born Again as his own, but did a much worse job of it than Frank Miller.

Wait, that's old school Flash and Terry Flash. Huh, wonder if they found Bwahaha-verse Flash frozen as well.

Got a ton of Thor, and lots of other things...It's just so much paper. Maybe I'll get over it once I actually buy some boxes. But right now I'm freaking out over it. These fucking floppies are literally everywhere. I was flipping through some of them and found shit I didn't even know I bought. I even have floppies still in bags from weeks I never got to.

I need a drink now.

YES.
