Pax Americana is just mind-boggling. Definitely going to warrant a re-read with all the non-linear storytelling... it's easily the most narratively dense thing Morrison's done in years (since at least Superman Beyond). Quitely taking his game to a whole new level.

For those who haven't read them yet, read New Avengers before Avengers.

Say, what's a good jumping on point for the latest volume of Deadpool? I think you guys have talked me into it.

Ahaha! Man, Harley was so great this week. Such a jab at Marvel with
"Manos and the Infinity Rings"
LOL. I love how this series continues to shine each and every month.

Wow, Supergirl was actually pretty cool. My goodness Emanuela Lupacchino's art is gorgeous. Loved the whole direction. DC is on a roll with new creative teams.

"He referred to your party favors as crowd pleasers. That's just rude"

You can really tell Conner and Palmiotti have a ton of fun writing this book.

An update regarding my Ms. Marvel Book.

Ive got it back today after I returned to my office and it was still in great condition and had 10€ attached. I am happy that I got the Trade basicly for free now, but I will stop leaving books open on my desk since it took this time far to long.

Also, tomorrow Elektra Vol. 1 releases. Yeah! :D

Harley for book of the month candidate again! :D

I liked how
they referenced all his kids and how they all hate him. Also, how the pizza-face looking lacking looked just like Thanos

While it was rude for someone to take your property for an undetermined amount of time when you don't even know which person did it, the fact that they recognized this and gave it back with 10€ attached is pretty badass. That's some Bruce Wayne baller level shit right there.

When I leave books out they get destroyed and stolen. I work with Assholes. Assholes I tell you.

Nice that you got 10 bucks for it. Put that aside and use it for Sunstone next month. I wonder if that person is too shy to ask to read your books. The random theft and payment us very confusing.

This is such a good idea, then leave it on your desk.

I'm doing Secret Santa this year. Last year my SS sent me Locke and Key vol. 1 as part of the gift and told me to regift it to my TT the next year. I'm going to do that, but also add a comic from my own collection. I'd like to add Sandman, but I only have Brief Lives (vol. 7, the one with Dream and Delirium trying to find Destruction). Do y'all think that would make sense without the previous volumes for reference?

If not, I'll probably end up sending vol. 1 and 2 of Astonishing X-Men

Kipp

but I am taking tiny steps forward
Just skimmed through ten pages of posts since I was gone on a mini-vacation the last couple days.
I guess you guys thought Pax Americana was all right. I'm looking forward to reading it when it hits the trades!

Also, I really need to convince myself to put together an IST order to grab Casanova for 50% off, and maybe that Winter Soldier TPB for 50% off too...

Oh, and while I was gone I read another issue of Hellblazer which was great and the Saint of Killers (Preacher) mini which was decent. The art for 3 of the 4 issues (one of the issues had a different artist) was pretty bad and the story was bottom-tier Ennis, but it was still some decent entertainment.

Some of these are pretty cool... I especially like "Greaser Batman" by Denis Medri:

Read Wonder Woman and thought it was alright. I expected to hate it but it was cool. It was not perfect but I'm also not going to hate on it. Meredith Finch said on Twitter she was a nervous and excited last night and couldn't sleep. She cares. I see the complaints of her aggressiveness but the book goes on to explain that aggressiveness. I see complaints that she is whiny. Once again, it fits the context of the story.

Yeah, I would even return the money when I would know who it was, because I would have given it away for free.

Still, very nice.

Here in germany superhero stuff is still often considered stuff for children. The people even go out of a Marvel movie and laugh about people who can tell and explain something because they have read the books. I think its because of this.

I was thinking maybe Kipp is stealing your books. But then I realized he wouldn't leave any money.

I am sorry Kipp. Really I love you.

Reminds me of Francavilla's Batman 1972.
I would instabuy an alternate universe 70s Batman comic.

As would I. It works so damn well that I'm not surprised there aren't more straightforward 70s NYC superhero titles popping up here and there. (Maybe there are and I just dont' know about them).

Am not the only one that has seen Scott Sanders & Michael Jai White's Black Dynamite, right? Anyone in love with the films of that era needs to have seen it at least a few times. It's all parody rather than homage, but it's so good I can't not mention it any time 70s crime anything comes up.

So when is Spider-Woman supposed to take place? During the events of Spider-Verse? I really wish these stories would come out after the events have been completed. It's been happening a ton over at Marvel with Original Sin/Axis/Spider-Verse, and DC with Forever Evil/Batman Eternal.

Dammit, I fucking liked all 3. Tomasi and Mahnke delivered an awesome issue of Supes/WW. Some pages made my jaw drop. I'm gonna have to make cuts elsewhere. First that comes to mind is Teen Titans. Hasn't really been memorable. Will read today's issue and see if that changes.

Wow, I can't believe I left Journey sitting on my hard drive gathering dust for so long. Like...omg

I can't decide which was the better part of my day, playing Journey or getting a double dose of Hickman

I got weepy at the end of Journey. Amazing experience.

So my roommate convinced me to watch an episode of Arrow last night and it ended with someone shooting someone (with an arrow, heh) and saying "I'm Cupid, stupid!"... not a great look from a first time viewer.

The stunts and flippy flips were pretty on point for a CW show, though.

Me too messi, me too. I feel like I bonded with total strangers without ever knowing them beyond their gamer tags. Brilliance.

I had a similar experience with Flash. I don't get the hype for these shows at all

Yeah. I read an article lumping them in with (the phenomenal) The 100, so I gave an episode a shot. Just terrible dreck. I don't get it at all.

Flash has been cool. And liking not quite Constantine a lot too. Gotham I just...Ugh. I'm not feeling it but I like penguin on it. And Barbara is nice to look at.

During Spider-Verse, right after the events of ASM10. It's a really, really poor way to start a book.
