Yes, but knowing how comics work, it will come back eventually.
I can't wait for the re-launch of the "All-New All-Different Amazing Spider-Man" in about two years or so and for the series to spin off into a daring new direction with the numbering going back to what it was before when a milestone issue hits.

I still think that is whole arc is leading into what you've got spoilered. No way Slott sticks with what's going on in this chapter.

I simply cannot fïnd a way not to be excited about Slott's Spidey. It feels truly new, and not knowing what's to come is incredibly motivating.

A dying, frantic Doctor Octopus rallies his villainous friends for one final, desperate attack on Spider-Man. But Spider-Man perseveres, defeating his entire rogues gallery like never before, and with some timely interventions from his amazing friends.
