since everyone else is saying crazy shit, i might as well too.

jean paul valley was the best batman.

get at me, dawgs!

Daken's better than Wolverine ever was. And Wolverine was never cool. And Cyclops wasn't cool until recently.
the second

hilariously 90s doesnt equal better.
I would say 'hilariously 90s' is a pretty apt comparison for Cassandra as well. 'Look at my costume. I'm a ninja lol but Batman also!' And the idea that she's the daughter of Shiva and D Cain just comes off as complete pandering. Like the comics though, well if she's the daughter of both those popular characters, everyone will immediately like her. Damian suffers the same fate, but at least they made him an egotistical, unlikeable little turd to make up for it.

And people claim Cassandra's the best, but that's only because she's so underused. If she was used near as much as any almost any other Batman character, they would tire out on her as well.

I'll never understand the critical re-evaluation of DK2

never

Maybe it's the part where Miller uses three splash pages in a row to show the Batplane crashing into Lex Luthor's tower followed by Batman and Catgirl beating up Luthor's thugs and Batman carving a motherfuckin' Z into Lex's face. Then it cuts away to him leaning back on his chair, feet propped up saying "Striking terror. Best part of the job."

Or something idk

DK2 is complete TRASH. DKR is so close to my heart. Y'all don't understand. DKR was a major life-moment for me that was ruined by the hot shit that was DK2.

comes off as pandering in what way? mother is high class martial artist and dads an assassin? what pandering about that? and david and shiva are popular characters? maybe now,(i cant even say that with a straight face) but at her creation, they werent. why would people be tired of her if she was used more?

I own Absolute Dark Knight. It pains me that a book so good(TDKR) shares space with a book so fuckin' bad(DK2). They could've replaced that ugly sequel with Batman: Year One or some shit. Have the perfect beginning and ending of Batman right there in glorious oversized fashion.

Why DC

The Batman > Batman Beyond > Batman: TAS >>>>>>>> Brave and the Bold

X-Men: TAS > X-Men Evolution > X-Men Anime > Pryde of the X-Men >>>>>>>>> Wolverine and the X-shits

Oh, right - I should note:

Captain Marvel #7: It's better than the time travel stuff already, but isn't really great. I hoped that this would have been a more cosmic book (and a more interesting one, really), but it's depressingly average thus far. I think I'll stay along for another arc or so, but right now? It's just... not that good, IMO.

Also, you don't have to call before dating someone's ex, though I know many people subscribe to that. Tell them, sure, don't hide it, sure.

It's pandering because it's using two preestablished characters to try and get another one an easy in. They would be tired of her because some people want things that are less popular. She would show up in more stuff, and you would start to realize her faults as a character(which, of course, she's a 'supa badass' so she doesn't have any) but more her faults in how she is written.

Kind of like how Bruce is written now where you think Superman is more of an underdog.

Had to fix those for you brah.

Now that you mention, has Superman ever gotten to beat Batman in one of their many fights? I've never heard of an instance where he has.

I picked up a collection of Brubaker's Captain America run at the library. It isn't the omnibus, but I think it has the first 11 or 12 issues.

I sorta dropped off reading Brubaker's run after 40 or so issues, but those first couple of years were excellent.

david cain wasnt preestablished. he was new on the scene as a character at the same time cass was. and whats wrong with having preestablished characters as parents? damians parents are far more well known, and people dont mind him. all the things you said about her character could be said about any other character out there. and i dont get how bruce is written so overpowered that clark is an underdog

It takes some getting into.

Brubaker wrote more of a S.H.I.E.L.D. book, and it was a break from the Cap tradition I was used to.

It grew on me in time, but initially I rejected it for lack of Cap action.

I think his run draws mainly from Lee/Kirby. Tho, as you said, more on the side of espionage and less of the non-stop punch outs of the Lee/Kirby run. Maybe I'm saying this mostly because of the abundance of Sharon Carter on both runs, or how the Red Skull is unapologetically evil while calculating or the nature of the manipulation involved, the way Steve Rogers seems almost always on the verge of giving up being Cap. But maybe this kind of stuff is universal and I'm just saying bullshit.

Anyway, on the note of this Lee/Kirby run, I found it funny on the recent Rememder issue that Sharon brings up marriage and say something like "if I don't ask, you'll never will", since the Steve Rogers asked her to marry him the very first date they went together, also, the very first time she saw him without the uniform.

Guys, lets be serious here.

Pretty much all of those 90's comic book cartoons are straight up awful. Maybe not back in the day but now none of them are good. Case in point: I was watching Batman Beyond yesterday and it was totally shitty.

Common brah, those inner monologues were fucking incredible.

That I can agree with, but the rest of the show was ass. Give me Spectacular's animation quality with TAS's monologues and I'll be in heaven. Dude could just be swinging around doing jack shit for each episode and it'll be the best Spidey animation ever.

Speaking about animated Spidey stuff, I still can't believe no one has adapted the Death of the Stacy's story line yet. Spectacular got canned before they got to it and it was definitely coming.

Hey man Batman Beyond is god tier.

Anything in the new 52 worth reading?

I have read:

Superman
Justice League
Red Hood

All to completion and I do not really like any of them. I am considering giving Blue Beetle a look, but I do not have much hope.
