That new Steve Orlando book has Ryan Sook on art.

Ooooh, nice.

Gotta love Porter's work:

I love when artists from the 90s and before update their style in a way that doesn't make them FEEL like an artist from an earlier time period. People like John Byrne, Neal Adams, and George Perez can't make art that LOOKS modern anymore, but yet they are at a weird in-between place where it doesn't look classic either. But people like Howard Porter and JH Williams III do a great job of having modern looking art.

Remember when we had the old chart with Days since DC fucked things up again? I would love to see Marvel come any close to the average number of Days DC reached back then...

Oh boy.

Porter's style changed because he got and fucked up the nerve and tendon in his thumb and had to teach himself how to draw again.

They're previewing pages from Doomsday clock, and the idea of Doomsday Clock starting in
1992
is such a fucking bold choice.

That Runaways trailer looks soo good. This looks like the most comic accurate Marvel show so far. Really need to read the rest of the series. I started it when I still had MU but stopped after like the first trade.

Yeah, but I mean, he has still had to make his art fit in modern comics, which he has succeeded with very well. A huge part of that comes down to the coloring, though. Porter and Williams III, to name a few examples, have great modern coloring, whereas guys like Adams and Perez have coloring that look a little too early 2000s.

The new name is a smart choice. How many books are in this line now? I also wonder how accurate the original pitch of artists having equal control of these series will be.

That Marvel thing is...yikes. How the fuck did they not realize the PR nightmare...guess they realize they money they'll make off the deal plus they're big enough to take the hit makes it worth it?

From the X-Men panel:

A fan asked where the original Wolverine could be found. Alonso pointed him to Marvel Legacy #1, in which Wolverine returned.

Like are they even trying anymore lol.

Heres alil more:

Alonso told a fan who asked about what would happen with the young X-Men now that some of the older versions were returning. "That's exactly the story," he explained. "All bets are off."

Alonso also confirmed that Professor X will definitively return - probably in Astonishing X-Men.

A fan asked how Wolverine's return would affect Old Man Logan. "Old Man Logan is gonna feel like a step-dad, when the real dad has returned," said Brisson.
Alonso said that these kind of questions were endemic to the story. "We want you guessing."

There are no plans to bring back adult Cyclops at this time.

Oh fuck. It's really happening.

I didn't read Watchmen until 30 years after it released, but I assume it was similarly as topical for its time as this preview was, right? I mean, it felt like it pertained heavily to the current events of the mid 80s but I don't know.

The fact they showed what happened in Watchmen's universe after the original story and it almost seems like they're using everyone they can instead of using just Manhattan...I'm skeptical but hopeful for this book.

On on the other hand, I say go all in on direct references to current politics. That doesn't bother me as much as the issues above.

We knew they were using Ozy and Manhattan and bringing in the diary but not to this level.

Anyone have a youtube link to the panel?

Yeah, I was fine with all of that. It's just to this level is a bit much, at least that's my initial reaction. Who knows how I'll be feeling after this rollercoaster of an event.

God, Johns is a nerd. The book starts
the day in real life when Death of Superman released so now we know why it’s called Doomsday
.

For god's sake, one of the signs in the crowd said "make America safe again" and there were
at least 3 "President golfing" gags in like 2 pages
, of course it's about Trump.

I LOVE IT.

I really wish Bendis wasn't just Marvel, because I think he'd write a fantastic Nightwing run.
Rogue will likely be decent but Milligan though he made some amazing stuff is hit and miss
I'm excited, because I think Milligan could do it as a horror series. Red Lanterns and Justice League Dark were like that.
Oh my crap I’m interviewing Orlando tomorrow
Fuck do I even start
"How badly do you want to write Nightwing?"

It's really interesting that we don't really know anything about the story of Doomsday Clock. It makes it pretty exciting going in to each issue.
