Are we playing the same game? Not to hate on the community, but I'm single AK and I get matched with the most silent teammates.

I played 5 competitive games yesterday, all randoms, no clans (on my team anyway) and each time every player had a mic. Except one, but he was typing a lot so he was communicating. Maybe just got lucky.

Side note: I actually got a drop in all five games I played, too. So yea, maybe I was just getting really lucky.

When I first started playing competitive there was very little whine about cheating, now at gold star 4 there's whine about people hacking every fucking match. It's like the amount of whine increases when you rank up, not the skill of the players...

Is there anyway to mute the opposing team so you don't have to see what they write?

Open the scoreboard and manually mute each person.

I don't see it a whole lot at badge/eagle where I usually oscillate between

Murphy's law in effect right now. First game I played where no one in my team used a mic and there were no whining/accusations of hacking at at all from either side. Just "gl hf" and "gg" from opposing side. It felt surreal, in a good way.

If it wasn't ending in 5 days I would recommend getting an operation Bravo pass. That's the only thing I play competitive mode on partly because I have no interest in playing the same maps from 1.6/source which everyone plays in regular matchmaking, and partly because it feels like everyone starts at a fresh slate with a new map group. It takes a bit for everyone to know the call out spots etc, and people are more understanding if you don't know the map.

In fact I'll probably just stop playing competitive all together after Bravo ends, and await the next operation. I just hope it will be playable in competitive and not only casual like Operation Payback was.

Yea, I did get a .99 cent pass and only just now realized that you get drops in casual games. So yea, I probably should have been doing that from the start.

I GG purely out of reflex now. Even if I get stomped terribly, I always salute the other team.

It's great when you enter a bombsite against terrible odds and for some reason you're feeling super confident and unstoppable.

Just played a couple competitive games for the first time in a long time! Actually won 2/3 despite my higher than desirable lag.

Gotta love when you are MVP and the guy on the bottom of the scoreboard is trying to tell you how to play while trash-talking the other team. You have a 1:3 kdr dude, EVERYONE is better than you

We lost by the way.

My uncle works at counter strike, I'll tell him to give you gold Op Bravo medals. I'll just need your steam name, password, SIN, and CC#. PM me the details.

Anyone have some recommended US East deathmatch servers? Preferrably the ones that have a good population on aim/fy maps but I'm flexible with whatever.

Um clearly my internet works cause I'm posting this, but Steam won't connect to Steam servers. Anyone else having this right now?

edit: ah apparently maintenance.

Is there any way to mute your dead teammates while you're still alive?

I don't think there's an automated way to do it, I just manually press a key to mute/unmute

Code:
alias "mute1" "voice_scale 0; bind = mute2;echo VOICE_DISABLED"
alias "mute2" "voice_scale 1; bind = mute1;echo VOICE_ENABLED"
bind "=" "mute1"

"SSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Never works. Even after I tell them that them fumbling over their words is preventing me from hearing footsteps, defuses, pickups, or plants, they say sorry and do the same thing every following round. Wish they used the 1.6 system where only dead people can talk to each other unless they used vent.

alias "mute1" "voice_scale 0; bind = mute2;echo VOICE_DISABLED"

I'll definitely give this a try. Thanks.

underhanded grenade toss? thats kind of interesting

stickers are like whatever, I wonder how it works if you can have multiple though, do you get to pick where to place them on the gun

I'm just glad they reduced the SG and Aug scoped recoil. Shit was ridiculous. Nice seeing some new maps for competitive, too.

Stickers are whatever, at least they should fetch a decent price on the market for a little bit.

Just played my first comp match with the new patch and wow everyone was spiking and DC'ing like crazy. Some stability issues methinks.

I was just pinned down in that corner between xbox and mid-door in dust2 as ct while the entire team of Ts rushed down mid, I gently placed a flash on top of xbox with right click that blinded the entire team and killed 3 guys before dying.. aaawwww yyyyyyiiissssss

Crazy update, so many cool changes.

Special love for the black bar removal from dust 2 tunnel stairs because I thought I was the only one constantly annoyed by it.
