And met my first* cheater in matchmaking last night. Running around blazing fast, every bullet went to the enemy's head, wall hacking, etc.. Kid was so proud of himself boasting about his "ownage" on the chat lol. Pathetic. One of my friends in the match has a lot of Valve contacts so he got the wheels in motion for an ip ban pretty fast.


*First shameless one that I was 100% sure was cheating, I'm come across some suspiciously good players before but if they were cheating they disguised it somewhat well.

I don't know why, but since yesterday i've been getting laggy menus and stuttering while playing. Seriously, the menus run at 10fps max. Could it be a driver issue?

Chances are the suspicious ones are just good. Why do you think all the pro players get accused of cheating when they fakenick? :p

The real cheaters rarely try to disguise their cheating for long periods of time. They will usually out themselves in one way or another after just a few days.

Yup certainly. That's why I never call them out on chat (like so many people are quick to do), because if they're legit, and they probably are, it's like the ultimate compliment.

will a custom crosshair really make it any easier?

i just use classic default (the little green crosshair) and it seems to do fine

I've been wanting to use the single dot for a while, so it may or may not help me. Also, I don't like that every color given in the options menu bleeds into the map in different places. I even lose sight of the green crosshair sometimes.

I'm going with hot pink. It'll hopefully help my aim and it'll match my underwear.

Well it turns out my technical issues with the game were still around. I haven't played in a while b/c I have limited free time and I don't like to spend it tinkering with settings. Basically this game runs like shit out of nowhere. And when I turn the settings down, it runs even worse. Every time I'd validate the files it would download the same file and do the first time setup.

I'm reinstalling now to see if it helps. I miss sucking at this game.

lol, sometimes losing the green crosshair in the sky is just part of the game! Deal with it!

Anyone playing the game? I think I need some help... and target practice. I think I'm going to need to add some Steam friends here... I don't think I can improve much if it's not something that I can take gradually, in my own pace. All the playing with bots is... well, it'll only take me so far.

Yeah even on the hardest difficulty, the bots are terrible. They don't play anything like a person would. If you just need some target practice, play Arms Race. It's quick and simple, and you don't have to sit around for minutes watching everyone else play after you die over and over again.

Just use the P90. People will get mad at you because you'll be killing them every round :) Aim at their heads and strafe. Just stay away from long corridors.

My most used guns are:

pistol: Five Seven / Glock
smgs: P90 / UMP
rifles: M4 / Galil
shotguns: Sawed off / MAG-7

I hate the AK!!!

p90 and bizon are fucking bullshit guns.

It feels so good to hs people with the AK. I'd recommend playing on HS-only Deathmatch servers to the guy who wanted to get better. It will improve your aim. :)

I started playing CS in 1.3 but stopped a little after source came out. I began playing GO about 2 weeks ago and have had a lot of fun up until I got to Master Guardian Elite/Distinguished Master Guardian. One game will be awesome with all equal ranks, but then the next 3 games I'm with Novas... and SILVER PEOPLE?!?!? No offense to them, but that's some pretty janky matchmaking.

I understand this is an "ELO" system and all, but wow it really sucks. I've gone from Distinguished>Master Elite>Master II>Master Elite>Distinguished Master for a few days now. Right when I get to about the Master Elite level of play, it's just a fucking mess. I still haven't met many good players and I know that part of the problem is playing with randoms. Kids who troll then leave mid game, Ugh.

Is ESEA worth it at this point? Doesn't seem like there's really much else of a choice. It's such a shame because this is a great game but Valve really dropped the ball with the shitty matchmaking and leader boards.

If anyone is looking to play please PM me. Would love some competent teammates!

Its not really the p90 i hate, but more how it makes people play. With every other gun players employ some sort of strategy, but its never the case with p90 users. It's always "RUN AROUND LIKE A MADMAN SHOOT EVERYTHING THAT MOVES RAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH"

At least the negev is expensive, heavy, and has crazy spread...

Yea, people tend to be more offensive with it, especially when they buy it after a pistol round win. It is a little too good IMO, I get some crazy shots that I never saw coming.

Funny enough, I finally had a game where I was at the middle of my team's scoreboard after a full match instead of at the bottom. I blame me... well, not standing still.

Hate that p90 spam. Nothing like stopping a cunt looking to easily ace a second round with a p90 on his tracks with a cheap shotgun before his first kill.

I still can't believe the p90 hasn't seen a nerf of some kind in this game. The majority of matches I'm in the other team transitions from p90 to autos every damn time.
