I think this is my favorite scene from the show:

Cowboy BeBop is a pretty cool dude.

I would give anything to get a film based on this era of Spike's life (image needs more jpeg, sorry):

I'm in the process of upgrading my home cinema so I think I'll wait for part two to release and watch 'em all in one fell swoop when all my gear is in place. I wish they'd release the OSTs on vinyl. Would sound glorious.

Ha that Ed picture always cracks me up.

I love it when Spike wears that jacket <3 so chill as always.

bitch I'm taking calls.
Jet held onto the past and never let go, even after leaving it all behind.
Kind of hard to let go when your arm is an ever present reminder of the past. Hell, Spike had the prosthetic eye and painful memories, Faye no memories at all and crushing debt...even Edward's wandering finally caught up to her. How people deal with their past is a huge motif in the show that is played out brilliantly throughout the series.

Hence the brilliance of "You're gonna carry that weight." It says so much in so few words.
The past is inescapable. It's always there, and if you try to run from it it will catch up to you. It's a burden at times, a weight that we all have to carry.

had no idea about the bluray release. oh my goodness.

cant wait to see some gifs using the restored versions.

Nice to see this thread pop up. I realized the other day that I no longer own this (a casualty of divorce, alas, alas) and am remedying that post-hastey, because what the fuck is wrong with me.

Where is my us release? :[

One of my favorite shows ever. Perfect in every way to me. The characters, the music, the art, the dub, the variety.. Gawd.

I'll never forget watching Ballad of Fallen Angels for the first time.

That means a US release is close right? right?

My all time favorite anime. The beautiful thing about Cowboy Bebop is that it transcends the genre. I have friends who just don't like anime or animated media in general sit down and just totally get absorbed with Bebop. Also, it ends perfectly. Bang...

I'm so fucking jealous. Beautiful set. I cringe when I think about how many amazing shows are betting bluray treatments in Japan and never get English speaking releases. "Reverse importation!" fuck off and die!

Yeah this is the distributors first release so it's pretty darn awesome. Lagann will also be getting a similar treatment later this year from the same distributor.

Oh yeah, we did get that Gurren set here. Outrageous price and all. I'm just going to try not liking things as much so my feelings don't get hurt whenever an anime company doesn't want me to buy their shit.

This show was amazing! Perfect mix of tropes, new stuff and awesome music. There's not a single part of the series that I disliked. Truly a classic.

Yeah I'm hoping the Lagann set will be priced similar to this in the UK. It's disappointing this isn't coming to the US any time soon but there's always a chance I guess. If the UK of all places can get a none gimped version of bebop on blu-ray for an affordable price I think anything is possible! :p

We only get this lucky with Ghibli releases usually for some reason. We are way ahead of the US with them for some odd reason.

This is def my fav anime series ever. Cant beat the music, plot, humor, dialogue, characters, dub, everything!

And best opening hands down!

And dont forget! "See you Space Cowboy..."

One of the pieces of art that had the most impact on my life.

I first saw it when it aired at 10 years old and I've been watching it every year since then.
I'll never get tired of Spike, the music, space, the dialogues, the humor. Everything in this anime is fucking perfect and nothing will ever top it. Period.

I was 15, maybe 16 when I first watched this series and it left such a HUGE impression on me, nothing I've seen earlier or later can compare.

+1 for "the best TV show ever". I have it on VHS, on DVD and now the time has come for Blu-ray.

God, that's one hell of a set Region 2's getting. I need to invest in a region-free player sometime soon...

One of my favorite anime series, and an almost unfairly great way to get people interested in Japanese animation/sci-fi.

Will this play on a us ps3?

If it has custom firmware, there is a way apparently. I'm looking into it myself, but for now, this seems to be the current method. Warning: I haven't tried it, and I don't know if it will damage your PS3. Use at your own risk.

I'll be doing it whenever I get around to ordering CBB. I'll probably wait and combine shipping with the cheaper Bakemonogatari Blu-Ray releases coming in the UK.

Edit: Err, apparently that site gets filtered by GAF. Just google "PS3 Lvl2 Region Free" and it should be in the results.

Space Lion... ;__;

I just love this show and the movie and the soundtrack. A rewatch is definitely due.

This is the quintessential anime show. A perfect marriage of so many things and I honestly don't think any show will surpass the quality. Sublime in its entirety.

I've never seen the series and was just recently looking for a good way to watch them (there were none apparently).

I'M SO GETTING THIS

Edit : wait a minute. 32£ and only the first half ?? I'M NOT GETTING THIS

(yet)
