Crash Bandicoot remastered collection coming in 2017

Sony has publishing rights for 1,2,3,CTR and maybe Bash. You won't see this on Xbox One just like FFVIIR.
Activision owns the publishing rights to the remasters, so it isn't out of the realm of possibility. That's what people are trying to point out.

EDIT: And it is entirely possible that the remasters are timed-exclusive due to Sony working with Activision.

But they require permission to remaster them from Sony in the first place, who wouldn't agree to it if that were the case.

Remastering, re-imagining, remaking? Which is it, really?

Seeing as how this is being handled by Vicarious Visions, I can't see this being a simple "remastering."

They can't just port the games like that. Not only is the architecture completely different now, but all 3 games are coded in Andy Gavin's GOOL, which only he truly know how to work with. Plus a lot of other technical details that are just too hard to program on today's technology.

If they're going to recreate the games (which seems like the likelihood), I doubt they'd stop at "exactly the same graphics and gameplay but in HD". And before you suggest emulators, remember that this is, according to Sony, being done from the ground up.

All signs point to this being an all-new thing.

Based on what Sony said alot of people seem satisfied with the collection.

Also I think he said like 70% of PS4 owners never play the series.

Those publishing rights would be irrelevant with a full remaster from the ground up. If the collection is PS4 exclusive, is because Sony paid for the exclusivity.
I'm certain its a PS exclusive - namely because I just can't imagine this happening without Sony's approval/involvement.
They don't need it. No approval from Sony is required.
