They have probably retconned it. Crysis 1 went out the window with crysis 2.
Maybe they'll release an Ultimate Collector's Edition on PS4 because there is no way I'm buying this on current gen consoles. Gross.
Damn the PC version even on low destroys the PS3 version.....
Wow.
Judging by Crysis 2... Shouldn't whoever is in that suit be smelly?
The suit is housing a rotting corpse
This game is freaking gorgeous, but I don't see it "holding the crown on graphics for at least 2 years" like Crytek said, honestly.
Grenades still look choppy when you throw them. Something is just slightly off about the underlying structure of the netcode. The grenade sound also lacks a punch and the explosion effects in multiplayer are pretty terrible and seem to lower the frame rate. A lot of talk about grenades, but I've been playing black ops 2 a bit lately and they execute that part of the game flawlessly. Even if the engine is archaic, the grenades still look and sound like they're exploding. I've also noticed my fps go down right next to the crash site thing when action is going on. Besides that I get a solid 60 fps with my current settings, but the drops are frustrating considering my pc still has some power to it.
And why do they still have that "beeeep!!!!" when you die? Sounds like Pavlovian conditioning to make you try really not hard to die because it's so annoying, although it's not as loud as it was in Crysis 2 (I couldn't even wear headphones in that game).
So, I guess while everyone else was off playing the graphics last night, I had a chance to sit down with the GAME for a couple rounds and just wanted to share some thoughts:
1) Guns do not carry enough weight to them, either when moving or when firing.
2) Maps are a little convoluted and too full of foliage and other things which really obscure the view of enemy players, which is especially prevalent because of:
3) Abilities do not seem balanced. Yes, everyone has the same set of abilities, but I feel like they last too long compared to Crysis 2. You shouldn't be able to get more than 4-5 seconds off invisibility or armor and they should both share a meter. It feels too easy to sneak up on someone. Is there any way to offset this like a different visor where you can see people using the invisibility function?
4) The way your character moves and slides to prone is great.
I don't think this game brings enough new concepts to the table for me to really want to spend much more time with it. I played half a dozen rounds of Crysis 2 MP and was done with it...I have a feeling I will not even play that much Crysis 3 MP, but I am really looking forward to the campaign.
how does it look on 360?
absolute rubbish compared to a decent PC running it?

PS3 version is DX9, super-sub HD, and has horrible AF. No surprise! lol
Anyone got lower fps with new AMD Catalyst 13.2 beta drivers?

Buy this game! It will eat your PC and make it cry!!!

Maybe it's the techniques they are using but the engine seems like it could be better optimized. It's throwing lots of fancy effects almost for the sake of just doing it. To me, it's fine to have a graphical showpiece but when your playing shooters, I don't necessarily need HQ motion blur to see bodies flying with elegant blur. BF3 got it right even though it could use some LOD improvements. Something like that can be done in the ini at least.
Metro 2033 is a game that still taxes SLI systems but this seems to be a little bit too much but without purpose. It does look nice but I'm less impressed by how much it taxes even high end rigs. It is what it is though so at least we have another good benchmark title for modern HW.
I actually play this half way decent even though my GPU is below minimum spec(768mb GTX 460).
I'm enjoying hunter, but it would be more fun if the cell soldiers had a objective to complete.
Hunter would be better if "predators" did not have accurate radar.

MY EYES!!! BURN!! PS4, 720 pls come soon!!
In that case I think that survive would be too difficult.

Whaaaat. SMAA creates random drops? Then that's why I get random dips into the 50s. What AA are you using then? My 660ti should be near a stock 670 because of the overclocking so if I change AA I might just get rid of those drops.
Crysis 3 multiplayer is disappointing as expected. Crytek needs to give up MP and focus on a epic single player campaigns.
Here's what I don't get about this. The movement, gunplay, abilities, etc. are all the same as they are in the campaign. Add real people, make them have the same abilities as you, throw you in a map that makes use of your abilities, and somehow it's bad? Does not compute.
When a lot is going on with particles framerate takes a huge hit. I should clarify that I indeed get 60fps a lot of the time, but as soon as I get 3-4 players shooting at each other in front of me it's a particle festival and framerate does drop. I've stuck with SMAAx2 for the time being because TXAA and even MSAAx2 cut my framerate by 8fps at least.
There is nothing unique about the gameplay. All multplayer FPS play the same to me now. How is this any different than COD...? At least battlefield 3 has enormous maps and vehicles. C3 is the same ol' capture objectives/deathmatch.
I am a huge fan of Crysis 1 and was severely let down by Crysis 2. I am holding out hope that at least the single player component of Crysis 3 makes up for the stale gameplay. I need less corridors and more open space to roam.

Power jumps, slide, switching between invisibility and armor, cloaked assassinations, ledge climbing, power slam (whatever its called), throwing/kicking stuff at people, alien power weapons strewn around the map a la Halo style, vertical maps that reflect acrobatic ability, perks for your particular play-style, corridors yes, but also open areas for sniping, a bow, a gun that shoots 500 rounds per second. I mean it's a multiplayer shooter on steroids. What is a first person shooter supposed to do? You shouldn't have said "Crysis 3 multiplayer was disappointing as expected", you should say "I don't like the genre's multiplayer anymore".
edit: you can also switch your weapon attachments in-game now like you would normally in campaign.

Lol, come on son.
It's a solid effort for an 8 year old console.
It's solid if you see all the post-processing they use to hide sub-hd resolutions.
