Sounds like this touches a nerve for you for some reason.naughty dog did this multiple times and you have like most of the time no idea of what u talk about just spreading fud and hate on Xbox like always
yes because you know very well that you are not honest with yourself or certainly in what you write. so get annoyed. read the post above yoursSounds like this touches a nerve for you for some reason.
To me this presents like a sign of weakness, disfunctionality & and a project off the rails. I'm sure this is the more common impression because you can wear any hat and apply it to any studio and that's what comes to mind first.

False my ass it the same shit this is how game development works. That's a false equivalent, as it has been several times pointed out.

Polyphone is a disgrace in terms of productivity. They need to improve significantly.Nice logic.
Polyphony Digital uses outsourcing to make Gran Turismo games. So Ember Labs > Polyphony Digital, eh? Polyphony can't make a game?
Of course. We're talking about 4-5x bigger scope at best, right? Kena was made with 12 developers. The Initiative has 70 developers, so almost 6x the size of Ember Labs.I strongly suspect Perfect Dark's scope is much more grand than Kena.
They now have 160 developers. For the majority of Ghost of Tsushima's development, they were a <100 studio.Sucker Punch has 160 developers. 100-ish is quite the understatement.
Again, they now have 400 developers. They grew when they were making Miles Morales (with the introduction of a third team) and just overall after Sony's acquisition.Insomniac has 400+ developers. You think they chained away 150 of them only to work on Spiderman?
Roughly 3 years. They released Uncharted in 2016 and Lost Legacy in 2017 (which had the whole studio working on it, officially confirmed). How long did last of us 2 take?
I agree. This is exactly what I am saying, too.Actually several of the studios you mentioned outsourced work, including Ember Labs. The issue isn't there, and there really isn't any issue at all, other than an uncommon move which is for a First Party studio to co-develop a First Party Title. This is not outsourcing.
The issue is not the outsourcing (or which studio helps out, every studio does it from Turn10, PD, Ubisoft etc.), but the BS they have been proclaiming since 2018. Them stating years ago "we are working on something groundbreaking, worthy of AAAA" moniker was complete bullcrap./thread
The mandate was to create a new IP (Perfect Dark is not new) and to innovate ... (not sure how, FPS have been stagnant for decades), but after 3 years, they are still in early development ("have to wait another 2 years+")?
That is to some extent concerning.
"That's really the mandate: make something ground-breaking. Innovate," continued Gallagher, who used to oversee the Tomb Raider franchise as studio head of Crystal Dynamics.
A job listing from 2018 that looks like it could be for the southern California studio asked for experience in shipping titles at "AAAA standards" and a knowledge of "building new IP."

The Untold Truth Of Microsoft's The Initiative - SVG
So, what's actually going on at The Initiative? Here's what we know about the mysterious happenings at this development studio.www.looper.com
This is good news for Perfect dark, the initiative by themselves are a small team.
How does working with an external studio mean they aren't trying to make something groundbreaking?
There's such a dearth of common sense in this thread.

The other 2 were for voice over editing / mixing.
They didn't just hire Crystal Dynamics to make their game for them lol.
Those people aren't all employed at Naughty Dog, of course, but involve workers at 14 other studios outsourcing certain work. That includes two studios brought in to help with sound--one for general sounds and one specifically for weaponry and combat--and the remaining 12 external studios helping with the game's art in various forms.
no. and at this point report12 of those 14 were for art outsourcing.

Last I checked, you can't make a game without art and audio.
12 studios worth of art and 2 of audio is a ludicrous amount of important work outsourced..every bit as important as programming.
Also Perfect Dark has had a playable build since February of last year.
CD are obviously hired to help build out what's already there and make sure it ships when they want it to.
With a budget like The Initiative has, why not hire a large, experienced AAA team that Daryl Gallagher has already led to great success before?
no. and at this point report
2k more person's worked on the game ...talking about who did the game....lol
you guys have no idea kn how the industry works....really ..better you stop.to talk about this stuff
and what's arts? soundsf fx? music? textures? 3d models? so basically standing how you think naughty did the wrote the plot and the animation? as i repeat stop to talk just pls
and so to conclude have you seen who are the people in the small team of the initiative? do you think they are the latest arrivals? the most come from r * CrystalD or SSM naughty dog and others first psrty Sony studios
Citation needed.*Assuming you are pretending here, its shit.
k basically can't answer anymore ok

State of Decay 2 was not outsourced. Lmao. What are you on?Problem is even if Sony outsources their games, they are still good and bangers, anytime MS lately has outsourced a game it turned into a train wreck like crackdown 3, state of decay 2 etc.
whenever we get these buzz words from MS it slights me as not god because their track record has been abysmal

Jeff Grubb giving us insight knowledge you guys should listen.
Imran Khan did suggest the same thing but I suspect square enix will keep the western studios sadly and constantly be unhappy with their performance. It would not be the first time SE shed some north american studios
Game is not being outsourced, it will be a Crystal Dynamic game in partnership with the Initiative. How does working with an external studio mean they aren't trying to make something groundbreaking?
There's such a dearth of common sense in this thread.
Off the rails? They were always going to outsource. lmao. That's how they were set up from the scratch.
How do you know what they've accomplished at this point?
All the leads on the game will probably be The Initiative employees, basing this off the employee titles that the initiative are hiring for.Game is not being outsourced, it will be a Crystal Dynamic game in partnership with the Initiative.
I don't think Squeenix will sell CD, they have MSFT by the teet.Imran Khan did suggest the same thing but I suspect square enix will keep the western studios sadly and constantly be unhappy with their performance.

AFAIR 1st person with some form of body awareness like Riddick or Mirror's Edge. So, pls would somebody confirm if the game will be 3rd Person or 1st Person? I thought they Announced it as a 3rd Person Action Game.
It was announced as 1st person from the start. So, pls would somebody confirm if the game will be 3rd Person or 1st Person? I thought they Announced it as a 3rd Person Action Game.
- Genre
- Action/Adventure
- First-person Shooter
Thank youIt was announced as 1st person from the start.
From the official site Perfect Dark | Xbox:
Ken Lobb said years ago in an interview that PD could potentially come back as a 3rd person game. That's probably why many people are confused.
This is a reach and not even comparable.![]()

Thats a stupid statement. This has nothing to do with embarrassment and how do they have ms by anything when ms is paying for developmentI don't think Squeenix will sell CD, they have MSFT by the teet.
Will be highly lucrative to be saving premier XBox studios from embarrassment.
Yep, the 3rd person comment was perpetuated often. Even when they were play testing in 2019. It could be that it changed though because reading between the lines it seems like they might have changed a lot after that playtest. It was announced as 1st person from the start.

Eidos montreal is working on guardians of the galaxy. I doubt they will handle TRCrystal Dynamics was already on a support role for the last Tomb Raider (Shadow) which was developed by Eidos-Montreal. And that's my favorite Tomb Raider of the trilogy. That game has the best Tombs puzzles ever.
So I hope the next Tomb Raider will also be done by Eidos-Montreal (and not Crystal Dynamics as their last Tomb Raider, Rise, was the worse of the trilogy for me with way too much shooting).
just to let some people understand and close this stupid "bad" false narrative
Certain affinity (ex-bungie people's) a 250+ people studio
is helping Halo Infinite studio (which is already huge) with the game with an official collaboration

Certain Affinity Reveals Ongoing Partnership with 343 Industries on Halo Infinite - Certain Affinity
Today we’re proud to reveal Certain Affinity’s partnership with 343 Industries on Halo Infinite. Read more...www.certainaffinity.com
do you understand how out of touch these speeches are? if you have a lot of money like budget for halo you can afford internal studios of 250+ people to help just that instead of outsourcing out of respect you call partnership or collaboration.
Roughly 3 years. They released Uncharted in 2016 and Lost Legacy in 2017 (which had the whole studio working on it, officially confirmed).
So from Summer 2017 to release in Summer 2020.
exactly it isn't did you see the people who have played the test flight how excited are they and how much they liked halo?"The project isn't in trouble! Look, it's just like Halo Infinite!"
exactly the same thing ...with one more excuse for the initiative ....ND have 320 people ....the initiative 60This is a reach and not even comparable.
State of decay 2 wasn't a train wreck either. I love that game!State of Decay 2 was not outsourced. Lmao. What are you on?
