Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 NEW footage from Japan

That looks damn nice to me. Smoother image, and smoother framerate than when I played it a bit on the steam deck.

For a day 1 release on a new console that is very impressive. Going to be interesting to see what devs can do with it a little further down the line.

What if GTA6 got delayed because they just now got Switch 2 dev kits and they have work to do to make it run well on it.

Not even me who is enthusiastic for Switch 2 hardware would even think of that.

Looks just like my 3080

edit: honestly looks good for a console less than the size of my 3080

You can tell they're scared to remove the governor from the car, probably because doing that would make an entire building pop into existence.

Looks great for a handheld game, damn

Big hit to the lighting when compared to the ps5/xsx versions talk less of pc. Noticeable aliasing, frame drops in many scenes and all of this is occurring in docked mode. Texture quality has also taken a clear hit but that's pretty much expected due to memory bandwidth and ram constraints.

It's not bad but I wouldn't exactly call it good either. It's certainly more appealing than the Witcher 1 on the og switch. It also looks better than the steam deck in docked mode but I'm not sure it runs better. Handheld footage on the other hand, we'll have to wait and see. Performance is definitely worse than most windows handhelds.

not gonna happen without a massive amount of reduction to CPU heavy elements.
RT Reflections, crowd density, traffic density, possibly physics... all would need to be dialed back, and in the case of RT reflections probably completely disabled.

currently they probably don't even have a version of the game that can run without RT reflections and not have multiple visual issues.

Hence the delay.

Don't do this to yourself.

I don't plan to give Ninny any money. If I ever bought a Switch it would be for one of my kids if they want one.

This tells me graphics and power were in the back of nintendos minds.

nope. it's all about how easy it is to port current gen games. this game running at a presentable level means most games will work on the system. this is good news for everyone who likes playing on handhelds, and doesn't mind the cutbacks this entails, as it means the Switch 2 could beviable as your only system, while the Switch 1 wasn't viable to be that kind of console.

it also means you can use it as a portable alternative for specific games, or if money isn't an issue, as a way to double dip and play your Xbox or PS5 games on the go (Ubisoft has universal cross-save support, as does Cyberpunk and many GaaS titles like Fortnite, Apex Legends, CoD etc)

Hence the delay.

that would need probably a full year delay if not more lol.
and it's also purely speculation if the cutbacks I mentioned would even be enough. maybe RT as a whole would be too much of a burden on the CPU not just the increased draw calls and reduced culling RT Reflections need.

if the RT GI was also too heavy on the CPU, they would need to implement an entirely new lighting system, which would be an insane thing to do.

was this handheld or docked footage? I assume docked since we never saw the unit. Plus they want to showcase the best graphics they can to promote the game

I mean...the release window was this year, for all we know it was May '25 initially and now it is May '26. I am no dev, so it's just a guess on my part. I couldn't care less about the Switch version but it would sell gangbusters, of course, so Rockstar would definitely care.

Boggles my mind that people want to play 'spectale' games like this on small, mobile devices & screens.

Without the full blown RT & PT experience on a (relatively) large PC monitor, it's such an unsatisfying experience.

How will it look on a big TV though? When I eventually get a S2 it won't be for handheld. Then again, it won't be for third party games anyway.

Sounds pretty good for a device that apparently is only as fast as the Xbox One.

Lots of people disagree with you since the game with it's ugly FSR sold amazingly well on all consoles.

But could you imagine the meltdowns?
I mostly partake in console war out of boredom and don't really care much one way or another, but if this the reason for the delay, im buying a one way plane ticket to 11-1 Kamitoba-hokotate-cho
Minami-ku Kyoto 601-8501 Japan, as soon as i validate my flight training module at Huffman Aviation in Venice, Fla :messenger_grinning_sweat: :messenger_grinning_sweat: :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Looks good. My last nintendo console was nintendo64, I can't wait for Switch 2, there are tons of stuff I want to play.

And happy to shell out $70 to boot, and I'll play this in handheld 99.9% of the time.

This is looking great. I don't have the patience for such game at home, but alterning gameplay on the go and at home seems much more acceptable to me.

I just watched gameplay videos on series S and this Switch version seems exactly where it should be: roughly 2/3 of what the Series S can do, which considering the diminishing returns we got on visuals this generation is really good.

If I told you in December 2020, at the launch of this game, that in 2025 this game will be the hyped up launch title for Switch 2, no one would have believed me. Here we are
