- He's been fighting for 6 years. He started out as a highschool wrestler, trained submission fighting under Frank Shamrock and Javier Mendez, added kickboxing to his repetoire. He's had 4 MMA bouts so far.
- tried out for TE3, but couldn't commit due to school and work issues, but he submitted a new video for the new TE and the WWE loved it and brought him in right away
- some resentment from the hardcore MMA fans because of all the publicity that Puder has received since the Angle incident, but he doesn't care. He thinks that he can act as a bridge between the WWE and MMA fanbase, bring a whole new level of submission fighting into sports entertainment
- the WWE referee screwed up bigtime during his match with Angle by telling him to basically go ahead and use submissions (I guess they felt that Angle would be able to handle him no matter what). Once the kimura (sp?) was locked in tight, Angle wasn't going ANYWHERE. Puder actually sounded kind of rueful during this segment.
- Angle yelled at him in the ring about using a submission hold..."this is wrestling, you can't use a submission" but backstage they sat down and talked things through. Angle's no longer mad at Puder now that he's aware of the instructions he was given
- he was sure that the boys in the back would hold it against him, but nobody has really
- his alltime favourite wrestler? Ricky Steamboat
- he's said hello to Vince McMahon a few times, and plans to have a long conversation with him once he wins
- he's positive that he'll win TE, nobody else had the gumption to raise their hand and go against Angle, he's got notoriety with the audience, and frankly there's nobody who can bring what he brings to the table
All in all, he was well spoken. Remarkably self-confident, yet humble. Came across very well.
