Dark Souls 3 Pre-Load on Steam is online

Okay, good to know.

To be honest though, I decided to ask for a refund since I paid 58$CAD for it and Gamesplanet UK download, with the conversion and the 5% deal, comes at 57$CAD (with the soundtrack and the preload effective immediately). And I absolutely want to play tomorrow evening.

It took literally 10 minutes for the refund process at cdkeys. I did it 20 minutes ago.

You can email them and try. They did cancel my order of Heavensward, because it wasn't compatible with the Steam version.

That reminds me of GTAV. Many resellers assumed retail keys would redeem on Steam as R* had transitioned to selling Steam keys for its other games on digital stores, but instead it went all in on Social Club.

For people wondering when CDKeys is sending theirs, Novum asked them few pages back.
Hopefully they send them early Monday so that I have time to preload this on my SSD.

Thanks for quoting my post to get the people in here informed, so the key will be sent out tomorrow I presume.
It's the first time I preordered at CDKeys, maybe next time I should use a different key seller :P

I don't know how reliable your email answer is, as they give different answers on twitter. We'll see.

I have tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday off work. Time to throw away all my plans and spend 48 hours hammering this - providing I get my CDKeys key in time.

Well I checked my e-mail account and they haven't sent out the keys yet.
But yeah lets see, hope they will give the keys out tomorrow morning or afternoon so it can be pre-loaded at least.

Preloading is DONE. Goddamn it's so torturous having the files on your PC and then knowing there is fuck all you can do to play.

Really hope there comes a day when developers can just release games whenever they are complete and we don't have to worry about being beholden to arbitrary dates which satisfy the financial reports.

Now I'm curious. How does it play with a Steam Controller I wonder?

just like any other controller I imagine

the popular bind for SotFS had sprint mapped to the back paddle so you could control camera and hit attacks while sprinting. that's coo I guess

What are your specs?

"Can you run it?" sites give me mixed results. :/

Just about to pre-load now, Steam is on D but after reading Durante's report about SSD speeds I want to get this on my C drive, am I ok just creating a steam folder in Program Files and installing dark souls there?

You can choose to create a second Steam game library on a different drive when initiating the pre-load process.

Make sure you set it up within Steam's settings.
Do you mean make sure the folder exists in the Steam Library Folders tab under settings > downloads? After creating a new folder in C and pre-loading DS3 it says I have 2 folders now, and DS3 is showing up in the new folder

Yep, that's what you meant :p Thanks very much!

so i preordered from gamestop cause there is a pretty nice bonfire keychain that you get with your preorder. HOWEVER it now seems that I still wont be able to pick it up until the midnight launch tomorrow. BUT if i put my credit toward a steam card i can get the card and go home and start downloading ready to play right after work.

But i dont get the keychain. Decisions decisions.

People are bringing up Steam Controller and DS4 support - But let's ask the real questions:

Does it finally have Mouse and Keyboard prompts? And did they fix DS2's mouse combat issues?

Just go in and ask for the keychain? They already gave me one and I bought it on steam.

Asked this in the OT for this but might be better over in here.

Is it possible to play this early (in UK) if i use a VPN and set it to New Zealand like I did with Fallout 4?

I'm already waiting for all the unpatience that will arise once the game starts unpacking and it will take like half an hour
for HDD peasants

are gamesplanet still giving out their keys instantly?
will cancel GMG in a few hours if they still do
