There's a titanite demon that respawns in Lost Izalith.

Thats handy to know, will remember that when I get to that point in the game.

I've been playing all day today and seem to have done nothing, but done a lot!

- Farmed some Humanity on the rats in the Depths
- Gave 30 to Chaos Covenant to get new pyro and short-cut, covenant complete now (rank 2)
- Left it then joined the Princess one. (Had a read and it sounds like there will be two more pyro spells in Archives I can get)
- Completed Painted World, really loved this area, went for the kill on the boss and got her tail too (she was a little odd!)
- Hit Endurance 40, Strength 36 and Vit 33. Based on what you guys and the wiki generally says, hitting 40 is about right and things start to slow down lots then. Will concentrate on DEX more then
- Got my Pyro Glove to +10, want to go to +15 and then ascend but it gets VERY expensive!
- Elite Armour now at +8 which is awesome, anything new I've found since hasn't matched yet.
- Killed a couple of intruders today after I went Human to kindle, the basts :)

Fucking LOVE Dark Souls. About to hit 70 hours now and I don't feel like I've scratched the surface yet, especially with weaponry/spells/online features etc. Such an amazing game, it will last me years lol!

My current run through is about helping new players. I'm level 12 sunbro, helping on Capra and Gargoyles. I spend the souls I get on purging stones and give them away. Maybe when they're cursed an hour from now in the depths they'll understand why :p

i really wish you could invade early without being a darkwraith (besides the few cracked orbs you can pick up in firelink). This is definitely a reason why there's so many griefers, there would be more legitimate low level PVP if you could invade without having to beat a boss as ridiculous as 4 kings right away.

Just beat Taurus for someone.. had no idea you could even be summoned for that.

Beat Queelagg at level 10. Feels good.

I was on my level 230 character when I saw a Summon Sign down right next to the Undead Burg bonfire, I was amazed. Summoned him in, moved through the level and killed the Black Knight, and Havel along the way, then went for the Taurus Demon. He immediately climbed the ladder and took out the two undead soldiers up there but messed up and took a lot of damage from them. I then triggered the boss and ran back to the ladder. He waited for the Taurus demon to get underneath the tower, and did a plunging attack on it and took it down to half health while I was just about up the ladder. I noticed he had low health so I chugged a couple flasks, then did a plunging attack of my own on the demon and finished it off. Pretty awesome one-two punch.

That's awesome. I was kind of worried I was going to have trouble finding summons signs and people to invade if I kept leveling, but I'm 151 right now and there's still plenty everywhere. I like how specialized everybody is by the time they are that high of a level as well. You don't get some dude with a drake sword who doesn't know the level.

I'm on Xbox as well, I think I got lucky though, I haven't seen much action outside of that. I was able to set up an invade by my friend, gave him a ton of supplies that I have acquired over my 6 NG+'s, including a Titanite Slab and two White Slabs.

I only use melee on this character, I use a bow a little bit for pulling and sniping, but even at level 230+ I have no attunement slots, so it's kind of fun to be all the way into VIT(99), END(91), STR(67) and a little DEX(20). I'm so committed to this no magic character that I will put points into Resistance before any into ATT or magic stats. Melee is my favorite part of this game anyway, so I'm happy to be dominating with a no magic build.

Lol. Get summoned in Undead Burg, and the host and a white phantom are both female characters without shirts on. So, naturally, I strip to my bra as well, looking like Quelanna posing for Maxim with my gold hemmed skirt on. We proceed through the level without any trouble, kill the black knight, and then I got stupidly one shotted by havel while backing up the stairs. Do'h. In my world I rush to the tower before Taurus to leave my sign to get picked back up, and I get summoned by a lone pyromancer in starting gear. Oh.. hi.. I put my shirt back on.

Just got to Kiln. Anything important I should do before NG+? I already know to kill all the NPC's and kindle all the bonfires (gonna need a lot of humanity, lol). Any particular weapon/armor I should obtain or upgrade?

If you're not averse to farming for items, do it before you finish the game, it is a lot easier to farm for items on your first playthrough. As for upgrading armor, I suggest Paladin (medium) or Giant(heavy) armor for upgrading. Both sets upgrade very well and the Paladin armor has extremely high Curse Resist. Also, if you upgrade weapons to say +6 or +11, or ascend it to a form of elemental, you can work on upgrading them without having to get the ember again in NG+ to ascend it.

I suggest farming for Titanite Chunks in New Londo Ruins instead of Kiln, not only is it just as fast or faster, you have a chance to get a Titanite Slab drop. For Twinkling Titanite, farm the Crabs at the end of the Crystal Caves before the boss, the drop rates are vastly improved, just put 10 Humanity in your counter and wear the ring or put on the Mimic chest helm for a 410 item discovery rate.

I told "no" to a cat near the wolf boss. Now she won't talk to me. Did I screw myself out of a covenant trophy on my first run?

Saw a covenant message in the room so that's why I'm assuming that.

Suck all the NPCs using the Dark Hand R2 attack. That way you get all the humanities you need to kindle the fires.

I want to make a Avelyn crossbow character starting from SL1 so I was wondering if anyone here who has various levels of characters would be willing to help me attempt to transfer it to my new character.

I've never done this before but I assume it would require transfering the items to successively lower level characters.

If you can help me, send me a PM.

edit: 360

And Gwynn is dead. Not too tough but certainly had to be patient.

Finished in 56 hours, soul level 98.

End credits song is so good

Just had an odd idea for a Dark Souls 2 MP gametype.

Dark Souls DOTA.

What do you think?

I wish this game was on PC, so people could mod the hell out of it and turn it into an amazing PvP and online game in general. Also, Blighttown at 60 FPS o.0

This is what I plan to do, get as much gear upgraded and maxed as possible before going through again. I would imagine NG+ will be more difficult anyway so doing farming now will make life easier.

This game would be godly on PC, unfortunately in Japan PCs are only used for Microsoft Office and porn.

Found the best place to troll invading phantoms.

The bridge in the painted world of Aramais is a spectacular place to wait for invaders. They spawn at the end of the bridge, and can't actually get around you.

Well, it's good until you encounter a caster type - bastard reverse trolled me with a few crystal soul spears.

I've had invaders in New Londo do something similar, standing at the end of the narrow bridge using Crystal Soul Spear. The clever ones also know that it's possible for an invader to spawn the ghosts that guard the Fire Keeper's Soul, and they'll happily go after anybody crossing the bridge.

I've seen a couple that fire off as many spears as they can then run away and Black Crystal out when they run out. Always a bit disappointing when that happens. No closure.

I was level 12, I leveled up to 15 because I'm trying to beat O&S and couldn't. Haven't beaten them yet, but I've come kind of close, when I do I'll go back to the burg.

EDIT: made my walk back of shame from Anor Londo without the lordvessel. Out of humanity and poison throwing knives (which I'm not sure if I'll wind up using again). Gonna level up my pyro glove and upgrade my weapon maybe before I go back, but I'm gonna try to stay at level 15.

New update: So I travelled through Darkroot garden (so lovely...lol) and beat the Butterfly boss, pretty easily too using Pyro+2. Headed to Darkroot Basin, and beat the Dark Knight there and found the bonfire. Went a little further and found these crystalized enemies and what looks like a Hydra in a lake. I tried to approach it but died. Should I come back later to fight him?

Went on to the tower and unlocked the door, and therse this Rock Knight with a one hit kill. LOL. Went up the tower and back to Undead Burg. Went on to Firelink shrine and Im planning to head back to the Asylum.

Any suggestions on beating that Rock Knight the bottom of the tower?

Edit: This game is absolutely amazing. This has been such a drab year for gaming, for me at least, but Dark Souls has ended my year on a spectacular note.

I spent a while fighting Havel (the rock knight). Firstly, I found evading by diving left/right/forward to be really unsuccessful, instead just lock-on and keep circling his moves, NOT rolling/diving. It's handy if your character moves at a decentish pace but just take off some heavy armour if you are having trouble. The time I killed him he didn't get a single hit in on me. Tip: When he holds he weapon with two hands, BE CAREFUL, the damage he dishes is crazy!

EDIT: Ah yeah, smack him in the back! Sorry, should of said that!!!

The ring you get for beating him is great for carrying heavy armour as it increases your weapon load ability. Use it all the time with the Elite Armour (found in Dark Route Garden, got it earlier in the game and ran to it!).

I am back in the Garden for real now, about to try out Hydra, Butterfly then the guy in the woods.

This sounds ominous....what guy in the woods.

Also, Ive found to embers so far, and Ive given both to the blacksmith in chapel. Is that okay?

The way to own Havel is to circle him at under 25% weight burden in a counter clockwise direction. You move too fast at that rate for him to hit you with a club as long as you stick close, and when he whiffs a swing, backstab him.

You can chain backstabs if you can, but obviously it's riskier. Rolling is risky as well--that club has a big hitbox.

Yeah you're supposed to give embers to blacksmiths so they can further upgrade weapons, do elemental upgrades, etc

My friend has gotten pretty good at this in PvP, he says the trick is to follow the feet and line it up, then you gotta get the timing right for when they lose their invincibility. He did it to me a couple times, it looks real laggy on my end, but that's just Dark Souls netcode.

Man, I got the official hardcover guide as a birthday present and it's awesome. Now I want the game on PS3 so I can join the more active community (my 360 has a faulty tray as well and swapping discs is a chore) but it's gonna be a pain losing my 100 hours character :(

My 360 has the same problem, I have to push the tray to the right while I open it then let it go when it clicks, it's a pain in the ass. My solution, just leave Dark Souls in all the time.

I was doing a little Forest PvP when I noticed I had Black Phantom Mushrooms. So, I go to start killing some of the small ones on the stairs when I get one-shotted (I have 2280 HP) by the big one through the staircase. Great enemy to black phantom as Gravelord, Mushrooms already take forever to kill and hit like a truck, when they are black phantoms it's like getting hit by a train.

Don't you guys just love that "what's there really to moan about" line? Great, haunting acting, perfectly in line with the game. Very smart and original in some aspects too, like Alvina.

Ok some Qs from my experience.

Why do people tear up for Sif? He is that wolf guardian the tomb stone, right? I mean it took me a bit to get how to kill it. His ring I found helps and is neccessary. I'm level ~50-60(don't really pay attention to this).

Anyways I'm a little lost on the whole covenant thing. Why this isn't explained better is dumb as hell. First of all I used to join them when j found them to get a trophy. Then found out that you "sin" or "betray" your covenant if you switch on the fly. *facepalm* so then I have to pay or repent or whatever at the dude on top of the church and he wants like 30,000+ souls. Yea right like I'm rich.

Ok so anyways I'm more curious if joining each covenant "mixes" up the people that invade you/who you can help via the soul drop thing. Like if you join X covenant, there is more chance a player from Y covenant will invade you? Also if I join Z covenant, I can only help Z covenant members if I put the soul sign as an hollow/dead person?

Btw NPC covenant leaders can help you out if you see their soul sign + high level rank? I saw that sun person being summoned one when I was too and he was glowing gold like aurora.

Don't like to read wilkes for games that I haven't beat so I'd rather ask here. Also I recently leveled my claymore to +5. was that worth it or are the shards meant for more rare weapons? I recently rang the second bell and opened the doors to the forest. Dark Root garden almost completed except the lake boss that seems impossible for a melee character.

Ps: what the hell is up with the tail bullshit. Whoever made that should get fired. Never once I read that in game that a boss character tail means a weapon drop. Um yea I read about it here and got the Drake Sword. So are all bosses like that?

Pss: I was farming in dark rot garden and I kept being dragged into other person's games as an invader...how and why does this happen? Thankfully ever time I spawned it said something like host left and I got booted back. Is that due to the who covenant thing?
