DS2 Apoc difficulty compared to DS1 is very uneven. If you are underleveled its way harder than DS1 especially the side quests/bosses but if you are overleveled it becomes as easy as Normal mode.

I think the problem was the fact that doing the sidequest when they present them over levels you x.x

:lol

Here I was feeling bad that I played 40 hours....lol.

Sidenote. Finally beat The Crucible! Holy shit those last 5 waves were amazing. The only thing that disappointing me though.....was that I was totally looking forward to getting the next abysmal armor piece. After getting the shoulders after completing the crucible i checked them out......FUCKIN HORNS ON DEATH'S HEAD!? REALLY!? Everything else looks so good, but those stupid horns. Ahhh, Vigil.....WHY!!!!!?????

Questions.

Can I get all the Stones of Mystics in the Forge Lands before moving on to the next world?
I have 9 pages of the 1st Chapter of the Book of the Dead, all from the Forge Lands. Where might be the last one?

I hope with Darksiders 3 the story actually moves forward. I will be annoyed if the next game with fury takes place the same point as death and war.
This right here. I knew that going into DS2 the story would be parallel to DS but after experiencing it feels exactly like...a side companion to Ds1s story without really moving anything forward.

I don't think I can take another game that takes place in the same time zone. Vigil has to mix it up for the next one.

There is one in the Shattered Forge that you have to break a bunch of vases to get. Its one of the easiest ones to miss. The other easy one to miss is the one near the area where you first get the Death Grip.

Did you get the one in the water place, in the tube behind a rock. From the second stream you open.

I had 8 and the 2 I was missing were both in the Drenchfort dungeon.

I have a stupid question. How the hell do I summon ghouls? I put a talent point in there and the action is not bound to anything. I did a Google search but the signal to noise ratio is crazy.

I couldn't figure out how to feed weapons to my possesed weapons either.

I really wish this game had a real manual.

PC version? Tab and then select from the skill wheel.

Select possessed weapon then click on the upgrade option. Unique purple items can't be sacrificed.

lol number 2 on that is the only page I missed in the entire game. I felt so stupid

i am getting so irritated at the wall traversal. there is a slight lag between pushing my left stick in a direction (or letting go of the stick) and when death acknowledges that change. ie: i run along a ledge and when i get to the end and want to jump up to the next, if i don't wait a second or so between letting go of the left stick and hitting jump, he will jump over to the side in the direction i had been moving before. it drives me insane. i've died so many times.

i also hate how when you're on the top ledge, you have to push up to get up (which also has a slight delay like above) instead of hitting X. i hit X and he jumps and goes back to the ledge, then i need to wait a few seconds before pushing up on my stick or else he won't acknowledge it at all. WTF.

also: i don't know what anyone else is talking about but im level 14 and still can't beat any of the forge lands mini-bosses. tree guy still shrugs off all my damage and takes 80% of my health with the roots attack. i've got crazy expensive/powerful gear too. playing on normal.

I have to admit, summoning ghouls and having a giant swing at them and die from killing them will never stop being hilarious to me

Have to admit my go to ability is the zombies. I have them maxed out in DPS/HP/Fire/Explosions, and the return wrath to me on crit. With all the arcane and + arcane crit gear I have on me its awesome crazytown.

I was missing the one from the beginning of the water forge. run along the wall behind the main statue in the big main room.

The loot system is shallower than in Diablo 3. Only a few stats that are really worth having.

Diablo 3 is a game based solely on loot whereas Darksiders 2 offers a shit ton of more. Comparing the 2 is just stupid. And I wouldn't even complement Diablos loot system. Legendaries are shit (maybe they buffed them dunno) and the auction system completely breaks the balance.

I beat Gorewood as lvl 14 and I completely destroyed him on normal, yet the weapon that dropped required me to be lvl 15. Kind of weird.

edit: sorry for double posting

Really? I beat him at level 7, and I was doing decent damage to him. Still took about 5 minutes to bring him down.

Game is not "hard" even on apoc. But I guess your definition can vary on what constitutes a hard game.

I'm just going to have to turn away from some of these crazy optimistic posts. There's a lot of praise for the features such as side-quests, the crucible, and loot. However, the design of the game itself just isn't great. It's like praising how a cake looks. Nice designs on top, delicious icing, yet inside is a burnt mound of dry grub. If I had to phrase it, the majority of the gameplay feels like competent controls taken from other games with a bunch of maps that could have come from a mod community.

Sub-average game but gets bumped up notches for the combat.

I just ran Soul Arbiter maze room 10 again and I am getting mad experience. I am at lvl18 and I just broke lvl19.

The exp no gain on Arbiter maze must be a bug.

For the record my Wrath potions still aren't working.

He dropped a level 10 weapon for me and I beat him at 4, so I just assumed he was a level 10 guy. He sure as shit hit me like a level 10 guy, 2 hits and I was done so he was a solid challenge for my low level Death.

Did you try taking off the legendary blade arms? Maybe they are stopping pot use?

I tried that yesterday. Doesn't work. I thought that was what was causing the bug but nope.

Edit: Ok I got it to work by removing my Black Demise too.

CONFIRMED BUG: Equipping Black Demise prevents you from gaining Wrath with Wrath potions. I am going to upload a video.

The Soul Arbiter's maze was a bit grating to run through just because of the samey environments, but they did toss out the occasional fun mix of enemies. The Soul Arbiter himself was a bit of a disappointment; after going through all of that stuff to get to him, the best he can do is toss out a shield guy?

Oh well, at least the quest's conclusion was amusing. The banter between Death and the Chancellor may never get old.

I bet Darksiders III is a sidequel with Strife or Fury. Bleh, they just need to pick up where DS1 left off. Include every Horseman and go from there.

I'm afraid of playing a game where you play as Strife, because he's the gun specialist and Vigil has done a great job twice already of ensuring everyone that they would make a terrible shooter.

DS has absolutely lousy long ranged shooting mechanics especially when you have to manually control the aiming. A massive overhaul of the aiming system has to be done for me to be interested in a shooter heavy Strife game.

Guys I'm going back and doing all the sticks and stones stuff that I missed. I have a question about this area in the Breach (Land of the Dead).

9641c4538a3e87af9e93f19da9285f97186a6a15.jpg__620x348_q85_crop.jpg

This is the area you go to before you exit the Breach by using the bomb to blow up the crystals. However, when I reach the top there's this lamp statue surrounded by spikes. How do I remove said spikes so that I can go to the other side and collect this stone?

EDIT: GOT IT

Just finished it.

Huge disappointment overall. I'm not going to go back and find the rest of the collectibles and I'm not even thinking about a NG+. The ending felt incredibly rushed, it feels like the last world took less than an hour overall.

The game pretty much doesn't have a story, or an ending for that matter. The goal was to revive humanity, so you have to collect 100 unrelated things for 10 people who have nothing to do with that. And in the end, do you even succeed? Who knows, who cares!

Even the last boss was just some dude who went down in a few hits. Everything is so MEH in this game. So much wasted potential.

I agree with everything in this post. Well, except that I'm actually going to bother to Platinum this even though I'm not really enjoying it, lol

Ending Spoiler:
They DO say that humanity is restored. PROBLEM is Earth is HALF-DESTROYED, LIFELESS, AND FULL OF DEMONS!

Yeah, I don't see how humanity will stay restored for very long. The reason we were wiped out in the first place is that we weren't prepared for the war, despite being basically at the peak of our existence with nukes and stuff. How can humanity possibly defend themselves from what is basically an infantile state.
