I'm kinda wondering this myself. The first one was REALLY good as in probably my favorite beach volleyball sim at the time. The 2nd was a huge letdown as the pandering took front stage (the naming change is probably reflective of this). I hope it's gotten better, but will wait for impressions before buying.

Yes, I really did play it for the volleyball. As a SoCal native I don't get very many options for volleyball titles, let alone beach volleyball and they really did make the best one for Xbox/PS2 gen.
