The more you hang around DoA threads the more you'll see it from Shin. Misty is Kasumi in English. The Kanji for Kasumi means Mist, so name form is Misty. Lady Kstoute I have no idea, that is a Shin thing.

It's just a more high quality file format that also achieves better compression. It's not that noticeable in that image, but it's easy to spot the difference for 1080p animations.

Main problem is you can't really embed them anywhere so you're right in just going with the .gif.
