The controls are terrible, it feels like I'm jogging in syrup.

But the controls are pretty much the same as in DR1... Yes you are slow as fuck but so was Frank in the beginning..

And you have a Moose head at your disposal, which is easy running.. and quickstep..

The slowness at the start is a plus; it gives you the sensation that you're barely able to escape the zombie threat as they lunge towards you and are practically a few inches from gnawing upon your flesh as you struggle past them at the start of the game. Then it offers a sense of progression as you leave their moldy carcases trailing in the dust at the end game despite their never being much risk beyond a poorly plotted rout through them.

Your character might feel a little sluggish but it doesn't impede your ability to get through the game and certainly adds a sense of tension. It also goes hand in hand with the sense of weight the melee attacks have in the game.

just finished up the story. was pretty alright, but I've had my fill. I don't think I'll go for the final game. This is what developers fear, I guess. The demo turning off potential customers.

Now I've got to mop up the harder achievements. Is the 100k spent cumulative?

Whoever decided that it was a good idea to be able to spend $25,000 on zombrex without a confirmation screen is probably the same jackass who thought it'd be great to have that ledge with the broadsword on it be at that height and angle with the random ass nature chuck has to either decide to grab a ledge or not.

Regarding the broadsword:

There are two on display in the Hunting Store. Just jump from the Hotel staircase to the roof and drop in.

That ledge is the fucking devil. So random and hard to tell which direction you have to turn. The first time I fell, I just assumed that ledge was impossible to grab and so I never even got into the hunting store and just restarted.

I...I...just got the "Spend $100,000 at the Pawn shop" achievement from gambling? I am so confused on how this happened. I was double gambling in the corner to make some quick money by going back and forth between the two slots and like one minute into my binge the achievement pops up and I stare in disbelief on what just happened lmfao. :lol

Just beat the game with A & F endings, so much fun can't wait to play more.
Dead Rising is still my favorite game this generation so far. :)

The problem is that intuitively you try to stay as high up as you can by running closer to the wall since the ledge you have to jump onto is flat but he rarely grabs the ledge if you're close to the wall for some reason. I've found that running on the outer edge or in the middle is much more effective.

Am I the only person who isn't experiencing framerate issues?

I have some graphics related complaints but the framerate has been solid. Only time it wasn't was when I was screwing around with the IEDs and huge zombie crowds, but that is expected.

Framerate for me is solid. I have the Elite console that came with the Forza/Ultimate Alliance Dual Pack.

I really think it is HW related and hopefully they patch it up.

I've had framerate chug a couple times but mostly at the beginning of the game around 7-9AM but after it started to get darker the framerate got a lot more solid.

Alright, I just played about 20 minutes before heading off to bed. The framerate was horrible when I was killing a bunch of zombies or in the middle of a swarm of them.

Gameplay is still good enough to overlook the framerate issues. Looking forward to finishing this and getting DR2.

thanks to people like Frank
If you pay attention to his expression, it's more of a "Hey, I know what these are..."

Note to self: Don't post on the internets in the middle of the night. :lol

enjoying this so far....kinda sad that dead rising 2 has lost the clean visual style which i really liked in the first game though

Picked this up on gaf recommendation. Played about 20 mins, I was in the Master Ninja, Garnett Lee hater camp, but fears have subsided as the game seems great so far. Thx gaf.

I haven't had any framerate troubles either, I'm really confused. Playing on a 250gb slim for whatever it's worth though I'd be surprised if that makes a difference.

I don't have any framerate problems on my console. I'm left wondering if I am experiencing the same thing as people who are complaining but my tolerance for it is high or if it's just something my console isn't having an issue with...

In any event it certainly never "chugs" (which is what i'd call low 20's and below), and never affected gameplay to any degree.

I finished this last night, and thought it was well worth the 5 bucks. I was a little disappointed to see that I hit level 5 without any trouble on my first playthrough. I'll definitely play through it again to get the remaining points though. I had no framerate issues except for the very end sequence (in the A ending).

I've only just started, having fun simply screwing around with combining. Simply discovering that
bucket helmet with drills
was awesome fun.

The framerate, gets bad enough to bother for me when it was starting to get dark, *shrugs* up and down at weird times wish they had locked it cause it is pretty annoying. Dont know if ill grab final if its same cause up and down frames make me motion sick.

the framerate is a big problem for me. i hope they fix it for the full game, but i doubt it. its a shame because otherwise, case zero is a great game. just lower the amount of zombies on-screen (if it helps the framerate).

I think it's console related. Older consoles seem to be taking a beating with the number of zombies on screen.

Newer 360's seems to handle them fairly well.

Just 200'ed too a couple of hours ago.

Played it three times, the format of the game makes it very replayable and fun imo.

The survivors have way better IA, I didn't have any problem with them, controls feel better, especially the jumps, building weapons is awesome ( I had doubts with this ).

Another think I liked, and didn't expected to, was Chuck, this game sets the tone and the personality for him, and now I will go into the full game already loving him.

Overall, a 9+, feels like the same Dead Rising, but improved in almost everything.

Btw, the Lvl 5 will translate to the full game, but what about the PP ? Will people with enough experience level up all the way to 50 when they start DR2 ?

This has gone from "Paid demo? Fuck you, Capcom" to "I must buy Dead Rising 2 DAY ONE!" for me.

Mission accomplished, Capcom.

I'm also wrong about the "paid demo" thing.

Dammit, why must I have a janky framerate. I think it's time for me to level up my 360 to a 360slim.
i dont think that has anything to do with it. some people dont notice framerate problems as much.

After playing this I can't wait for DR2 to come out. I forgot how great the first one was and this seems even better.

Also not sure about the framerate problems, looked fine to me.

So I completed the game on an 'A' ending the first run...I am currently in the process of playing to just finish the bike and save no one but myself and daughter...will I need to play again to get an 'A' to transfer a good ending into DR2?

I had a glitch today where I went to the pawn shop, bought zombrex to save my daughter because I had used the one I had to help those stupid bowling alley hostages, it deducted the money, i'm running really close to the clock and right when I think all is saved my daughter says "where is the zombrex daddy?" WELL FUCK ME THE PAWN SHOP GUY RIPPED ME OFF. I wanted to go back there with an assault rifle and blow his head off. I refuse to finish the game now for a minimum of three days while I vent.

I thnk you actually have to pick it up after buying. Perhaps you forgot that?

Did you pick it up from the ground?

Only the stats (and maybe items and clothes) transfer, the ending you get doesn't matter.

This is really weird. I haven't seen any frame rate stutters at all and I'm usually really sensitive to that. One thing I have noticed though is that my game takes a long time to register things like when I click save, there's a noticeable delay in bringing up the next screens.

What's everybody's hard drive situation here? I have a 120gb one and have about 12gb worth of space left.

2 year old 60gb model, 7 gb free.
the problem: its not that the game stutters, it just slows down. happens to me when i am in the bowling center or want to get out of there (this is where i noticed it the first time).

This is pretty cool. Frame rate is terrible most of the time and Chuck needs to run faster but overall I'm having fun with it. Do you need to get all the bike parts before the 12 hours is up? I think I'm at like 4PM now with my last save and I only have one part at the moment. I've been running around bashing zombie skulls into the ground.

Wasn't sure if I was going to get the sequel but after playing this I think I'm in.

Ugh, who the fuck came up with the idea of
having a huge boss fight without any kind of warning?

Either way it was fairly enjoyable, it did however cheat me out of my money.
I got the gems to the crying women but just as I gave it to her and the text appeared the time became 7pm and some cutscene started and when it was out she was gone. No money added for me :(

This is really fun, I didnt expect the
boss fight
at the gas station so I was completley unprepared :lol

I got the D ending :/ so I'm gonna go back later and try and save all the survivors and find all the bike parts.

Does anyone know if the survivors still have those little cutscenes where they get eaten/kill themselves whenever they are swarmed by zombies? Those were always so awesome in DR1.

Also are the couple at the bar and Bob the only rescue-able survivors?

The framerate complaints puzzled me so I played through it again tonight and the game ran fine (or certainly no worse than many other 360 games) apart from the bike sequence at the end, which does crawl along at about 15 fps. Something odd seems to be happening here. My Xbox is a couple of years old with a 120gb harddrive.

I think it's just that people's idea of what an acceptable framerate is differs from person to person.

If someone really cares about the framerate that much just get the PC version.

Nope if you go to the start menu, you'll see that there are 10 total survivors. It's much easier once you know where to go exactly.

Yeah maybe, but it didn't seem to be any worse than most other games. Some of these comments make it sound like it's running at a constant 15 fps or something. Framerate does drop at times but it seemed mostly ok. If the whole demo ran like the bike sequence I could understand it. Oh well, maybe it is just like you say.

DF should just run a framerate analysis on it. I hate a slow FR, but I just didn’t notice it too much here. The loading well that is another story. Hoping for the best of both come retail. They have my dollars though and this DLC sealed the deal.

Yeah but I don't think my stats from Case Zero will carry over to retail PC Dead Rising 2??? I think the PC version is GFWL, but I'm guessing DR2 will look for a Case Zero save file?

I think retail DR2 is supposed to have a better frame rate.

l.

That is completely impossible. Some people just aren't noticing the atrocious framerate, how I honestly don't know its damn near impossible to miss.
