I guess ignorance is bliss for me. I wouldn't have noticed anything if I hadn't been on here....

Quite the crusader.

I'll say I have noticed it but not bad enough to warrant your endless dramatics.

Yeah but I don't think my stats from Case Zero will carry over to retail PC Dead Rising 2??? I think the PC version is GFWL, but I'm guessing DR2 will look for a Case Zero save file?

I think retail DR2 is supposed to have a better frame rate.

It almost certainly won't carry over to the PC version, but who cares really. It's only the first 5 levels.

I haven't noticed too much stuttering or anything.

Losing an hour's worth of gameplay though...fuuuuuuuuuuuu

Out of curiosity, have you cleared your cache?
No sir. I'll try that in a few minutes and comeback with results.

When I played, there was a point where the framerate stuttered, I thought it was going lock up on me.

Edit: Back with a report. It seems that clearing my cache worked wonders. VERY MINIMAL framerate issues compared before. I went through a crowd of zombies several times hacking and slashing my way through and it runs beautifully. AWESOME! Now I can enjoy the game without the framrate dropping to PowerPoint slide status.

Thanks! :D

So it isn't that much? Might go back to PC then since it is $39.99 on Steam.

frame rate outside is clearly lower than inside, but there is a good number of zombies on screen. i'm still buying on PC, but Capcom got another five dollars out of me this way. (just unlocked it after spending about forty five minutes on the trial).

and, damn! this has probably been said before but the trial of this contains way more content than the demo of the original dead rising did. it's a much bigger area and has a MUCH longer time limit.

i really hope people aren't still calling this a demo you have to buy.

there is i'd guess at least twice as much content and area to explore here than in that one area of the mall you got in the first demo.

great stuff capcom. do this again!

weapon combination list, I don't know if it's complete though

Air Horn- Pylon, Green Spray Paint

yep, looks complete.

i've played a lot of case zero, and i've had very few frame rate issues. it's a shame so many people are suffering from this, and i can understand how that would take away from a generally pleasing experience.

gotta say though, loved it.

Well, it does say on Xbox.com that any PP, cards and clothing will carry over, but that has to be wrong. I think the top guy on the leaderboard right now has over 12 million PP! :lol

That would be awesome. No sense worrying about leveling up if you plan on getting the PC version. Please hope for the best.

I really like Case 0, but really wish it had more of an obvious DR1 to 2 connection, instead of only being a DR2 prologue.

Just finished first time, but allowed a couple late restarts after running around experimenting, so sort of played 3 times through. Will play yet again for fun/get a few remaining achievements such as all survivors (never found the
roof gunman
's
daughter
).

Encountered no framerate issues of note, though the save system had oddly L O N G pauses between save file selection and actual saving.

And I like what they've done with the main character Chuck, he is actually quite agreeable as a playable character in the "noble father" mold.

The game actually looks decent enough at times, though at other times, its not so hot..

Just got all the achievements - my first time ever 100% a game's achievement :D
The game is really enjoyable and I beat it 3 times and on my way for the 4th.

And I think the graphics look awesome and artistically unique. I don't understand the complaints.

I don't know about artistically unique, but the graphics are fine

I beat the game again tonight looked at leader board and im 5545 or something. I got 200/200 and i had a blast doing it. I found something weird on my last playthrough though. When the game should have finished I could keep driving the bike. I turned it around and drove it toward the hummers at the end. If you come from the tunnel toward the hummers and get a wheelie by stoping and holding gas you can drive between the hummer and the guard rail that will be on your right and off the map completely. I followed this weird road around till I came to the end of the game map. Then I just drove the bike off falling into nothing. Weird. :lol I'm unsure why I could keep driving instead of getting the game ending cutscene. I had saved all the survivors and had 30 minutes before military was suppose to be there.

Where can I find bob's daughter?

After 7pm, talk to Bob and she is in the Hunter shop (where you got the broadsword). Beware of the timing as it might conflicted with Katey's time for Zombrex.

I've got 160 achievement points on my second playthrough. Now I just have to rescue the gunman's daughter and spend $100,000 at the pawn shop to complete the achievements. Case 0 has been really easy overall. I never died, got stuck or ran out of time on the story stuff.

If you give Sharon your first Zombrex, is there more for Katey or is that the only one in the game? And if there is another one, where is it?

You have to buy the second one at the Pawn shop. That's the only backup one.

I assume they would just set a maximum or something.

I just meant that it doesn't really matter if you have to start from level 1 again.

Why is this not being praised more?

I have no idea. It got an A on 1up and it's a super great slice of game for $5.

I just finished the game. I was running back with the last motorcycle part I needed when I ran out of time, and so I just got a D rating. Doh! I've immediately started again and I'll assuredly get a better score this time now that I know where to get money fast (
rescue the people in the bar
).

Just finished my first playthrough. Got the A ending but I didn't save all the survivors. It was sometimes frustrating but fun at the same time. They kinda balanced out.

Can someone put the locations and times of all of the survivors in spoilers? All I've found is the drunk couple and the dudes with the handlebars and looking around and trying to find people is a pain in the ass.

I had the drunk couple just following me around so I could clear an area faster and as soon as the girl died the guy turned on me! :lol

A few slices with the broadsword and he was down, and then the zombies started eating his body :lol

I killed Bob after that just for shits and giggles.

Pawn shop owner appears after you bring the bike to the garage.
The drunk couple are also in the bar right away.
A pair of hungover girls show up in the bowling alley at 1 pm. After you talk to them, you have to find their friend, who is in a tent in the quarantine zone. She has to be carried over to the bowling alley (and given Zombrex) before the pair will join you.
Handlebar guys appear after 3 pm behind the department store.
At 7 pm, Bob finds his daughter in the hunting shop. After shuttling back and forth between them for a bit, you can rescue them both.

Bob tells you where survivors are once they show up, so if you see him waving his arms around and calling out, head up to him and he'll tell you where to go next.

I love how Blue Castle even hits the smallest beats. The buttrock-y soundtrack during psychopath battles, the sound effects when you level up or your weapon breaks.

Everything just fits like a glove.

Giving Tia and Niki weapons and listening to them making random comments as they attack zombies had me in stiches! This game can be so hilarious! :lol

Gotta ask, since the thread search tools on this forum are basically non-existant -- google also gave me nothing on multiple tries...

How does one obtain an S rank for the playthrough?
Do you get anything extra for doing so?

I have a 200/200 on the game, but I think the highest playthrough ranking I obtained was A-rank.

Does it matter if they are on separate playthroughs to get the achievement?

If so where can I find the
construction hat and paddle
.

Chuck is a god damn lightweight.

Three beers and the dude will not stop throwing up.

Blech, alcohol tolerance better be a unique stat in the full game.

God forbid someone demands a game runs fast enough to look smooth. It's only the most important thing a game needs to do graphically.

Where are Gemini's jewels?

They're between a big gas truck and a yellowish car in the quarantine zone.

Shin -- I got the build all combo weapons halfway through assembling them all on a 3rd or 4th playthrough.

It's really true. I've played a ton of the original, so I'm acutely aware of the small beats as you said. Blue Castle really did a great job nailing it for Case 0. Hopefully that continues over to the full game and has even more stuff.

If you told me that this was developed by the original team, I would have 100% believed it.
